Price Variations?

Recommended Posts

My store just stocked the new sets, and I bought Gali today (I got PoW already in the Netherlands). But the prices were different than what they'd been reported to be on both S@H and other places. My store has the Protectors listed at $8.99, Gali, Pohatu, Lewa, and LOSS for $13.99, Tahu and Kopaka for $17.99, and Onua's price is the same. Have any of you guys found price variations at your stores?

Aside from the clearancing of Onua and Gali, both Target and Toys R Us are sticking with the $9.99, $14.99, and $19.99 price points.

Steam Name: Toa Hahli Mahri. Xbox Live Gamertag: Makuta. Minecraft Username: ThePoohster.

Wants: 2003 Jaller (from Jaller and Gukko), Exo-Toa, Turaga Nuju, Turaga Vakama, Shadow Kraata, Axonn, Brutaka, Vezon & Fenrakk, Nocturn, ORANGE FIKOU.

I got rid of my picture, are you happy?

Target had all their sets @ $1 off, but i don't think any of their stores here had all the sets for a while...

Myer made every second one you bought at a time half price, but I believe that has ended, & it wasn't a Bionicle exclusive thing. (If you got in you could've save $50+)

Toys Я Us / Mr Toys Toyworld didn't have any specials each time I checked, but I haven't looked in a while.

Everywhere else I looked had them at full price :$

'though they did seem to be selling very well everywhere I looked :3

Yeah I'm seeing this on amazon UK, most the prices have been inflated by a pound or two, however the price for most of the protectors ranges anywhere from 7 to 21 POUNDS!

¡21 Pounds?

21.~ British pounds for a Protector

Between Myers & Target I could by either: [1 of either: Lewa, Pohatu, Galia, xor LoSS] + [two Protectors]!

or [1 Protector] + [either: Tahu, Kopaka, xor Onua]! & easily at that!

That's insane. Is there any chance it wasn't some confused act of trying to type 7 Pounds and 2 pence and they weren't just very intoxicated &/or severely dyslexic &/or otherwise impeded by some event or condition or other factor which I haven't typed.

I was hoping that MMvSG would be $40 (Australian) but that'll probably end up being $50...

Welp, end rant...

Yeah either there's been a HUGE mistake or those protectors are really popular.

  • 2 weeks later...

The only price variation I've seen in person is with my local Big W. It has Tahu, Kopaka and Onua priced as $25 AUD, which is $5 lower than what is listed on the Lego Shop and other retailers. Toys"R"Us and Kmart also show the three Toa as $25 online.

David Jones is also currently having an online sale where the Protectors have been reduced to $12.79 AUD, the big Toa have gone to $24 AUD and the rest have been lowered to $16 AUD.

I've seen a few price variations around (UK). Argos had Protector of Stone, LoSS and Tahu a bit cheaper for a while, and might still, I haven't checked. John Lewis (great place to search for LEGO because no one thinks of it, so they'll be well stocked) had a few of the sets for cheaper, too. I figure it's to do with which ones are selling best/worst. Onua seems a popular target for price reductions.
