Dallior
Hello, BZPower. I am here to present a theory on G2 linking it to G1. Now, I know what you're thinking. "No, Dallior, this is just another 'G1 is just G2' link!" And, no its not. I thought that, according to the alternate universe theory proven to exist in Bionicle G1, this is an alternate reality where the Toa Mata awaken Mata Nui in year one, rather than year much later (minor discrepancies included). It's kind of a chance for the story team to go where they originally were planning on going in 2001, instead of the other stuff happening. Thoughts? Troubles? Turkeys? Ballom Nom Nom
There's the slight problem in that it's very clearly not Mata Nui as a setting, and there aren't Matoran, or Turaga, or Rahi, or a Mata Nui being needing awakening, or, or ... ~B~
Regitnui
Alright, there can be that alternate universe. What does that have to do with G2? 4 Quote Elemental Rahi in Gen2, anyone? A write-up for an initial video for a G2 plot I really wish everyone would stop trying to play join the dots with Gen 1 and Gen 2 though,it seems there's a couple new threads everyday and often they're duplicates of already existing conversations! Or simply parallel them with a slightly new 'twist'! Gen 2 is NEW, it is NOT Gen 1 and it is NOT a continuation. Outside of the characters we already have I personally don't want to see ANY old characters return. I think it will cheapen the whole experience to those of us familiar with the original line... believe victims
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Think they really think they can pull off the "hidden giant robot" reveal thrice? (That, and, as mentioned above, if it were really taking this direction, wouldn't a sleeping Great Spirit be mentioned? The only sleeping beings we know of are Makuta and Ekimu, and both of them are smaller than Toa, let alone universe-sized.)
Ghidora131
No, no giant robot yet. But i wouldn't be too surprised to find out the Protectors were Toa once.
Dallior
Well, when I say Mata Nui, I mean Ekimu. Quote "Remember when the comics forum had a lot of good stuff? Let's make that a thing again." -Kazi the Matoran
believe victims
Well, when I say Mata Nui, I mean Ekimu. ... He's, like, three feet tall in-story. (Assuming a Toa is slightly above average height or so.) He's in a set with a villain we already have proof isn't a giant robot. He's not a giant robot. Lyichir
It's kind of a chance for the story team to go where they originally were planning on going in 2001, instead of the other stuff happening. Besides the problems already pointed out in this topic, what exactly is this supposed to mean? The direction the story went in 2001 WAS the direction it was planned to go. Any other plans were contingency plans for if the line failed. There were no plans for where the story would go if Mata Nui was awakened at the end of the year, because Mata Nui's awakening was planned as a finale, not a chapter ending—it was a way to give the story a surprising and satisfactory conclusion if the theme was not successful enough to continue. In other words, there was no "plan B" for Bionicle 2015 to be based on in the first place. 4 Quote Formerly Lyichir: Rachira of Influence Aanchir's and Meiko's brother
Nidhiki of the Shadows
Well, there was that three-finger island plot-point that was dropped. Can't see it being explored this gen though. -NotS
