Controversy

Well, I'll get to my problems next blog, but for now.... Anyone not allowed to see/in a sticky situation trying to see The Golden Compass?   Like I said, I'll get to my own problems later.   -CF   Quote of the Day: Just then, in the blink of an eye, nothing happened.

The Zombie Apocalypse...

...is closer than you think.   Apparently 85% of children in the test group in Japan displayed symptoms of slurred speech and violent behavior due to having the H1N1 virus.   It can only be a matter of time before the rest of the world is infected.   -CF (STOP READING THIS AND GET TO YOUR ATTIC! Television

Jewel Staite (Firefly's Kaylee and Stargate: Atlantis's Dr. Jennifer Keller) and Sean Maher (Firefly's Simon Tam) will be appearing in an early episode of Warehouse 13's 2nd season! (As a couple, no less.)   Also, despite me "not watching TV," Community has quickly become a guilty pleasure. Probably because not only is it witty, but it's humor is much more cleaned up (though not perfect) from most TV shows nowadays. And the characters are great. ("Ketchup is a vegetable!" "This won't work

Green Gelu Helmet Wip

I was able to take a better picture of that WIP I'm working on that uses the green Gelu Helmet:   As you can see, the torso needs working on, and the lower legs could use some customization and lengthening. But nonetheless, my friends (who are getting back into LEGO YAY!) thought he was cool enough as was, so I don't mind displaying him on my shelf until the summer when I'll have time to fix him up.   I really like that boomerang; I've had the idea for a while now. And I'm using the hand i

Shocking

I just realized that in less than a month I'll be at college. When should I start packing?   -CF   Quote of the Day from The Xaeraz/The Dr. Zephyr: A man's silence is wonderful to listen to. - Thomas Hardy

Excelling A Saga

So I'm hoping I can find a way to watch an entire anime series in one weekend. But I have homework, a service project, and a WAMALUG meeting to worry about, much less sleep and cooking my meals.   I figure 3 hours Friday night and 5 on Saturday night should do it. (I hope you can figure out the anime based on the entry title.)   -CF   Quote of the Day: "When I get a Mew, I'm going to name it Optimus, because it can learn TRANSFORM and ROLLOUT."

Not The Right Question

OK, in this entry I asked about innapropriate banners/ads. I got responses about the ads on the top of the screen. Thank you, that was slightly on topic.   My real concern is: Have you seen member's banners replaced with these ads? Like the flashing ones saying "You won! You won! Click here for a free iPod/XBox/whatever!"   Because for me, this has happened. Everyonce in a while, or more than that, I have seen a banner replaced by these anoying and sometimes inapropriate ads. And yes,

Dinosaurs 101

There should be a college course on dinosaurs.   You know how probably all little kids love dinosaurs? (Think Calvin and Hobbes. Or yourself perhaps.) What little kid doesn't like the T-Rex, or a stegosaurus, or a pterodactyl? Sure, you could go to your library and read some fun books and probably learn some things, but that's just basic childhood fun.   But now, now we're older. We still think dinosaurs are cool, but don't want to learn anything too serious. I want a college course on d

An Invisible Takanuva?

Could Takanuva bend the light around him so that he would not be seen, in other words become invisible? I guess that'd be like what The Invisible Woman did in the Fantastic Four movie.   -CF   Quote of the Day: Roses are red, violets are blue. Some poems rhyme, others don’t.

My Geek/ Nerd Definition

As many have responded here, it has become apparent that there are many different definitions for the terms such as "geek," "nerd," and "dork" that may, hopefully, be bestowed upon many of use Lego fans here on BZP.   So, I shall give you my definition just so we're all on the same page as far as opinions go. It looks like it is opinion more than straight definition, as proven in the other entry, and if one thinks he i more one thing yet called the other, one should not take as much offense an

Addiction? I Think Not.

A week or so ago my dad said I have an addiction to blogging. (He thinks that's all I do online, but if he knew that I spend very little time actually "blogging" and more time looking at blogs and other internet sites, he'd probably say I have an addiction to the internet.)   Now, I can't deny this, or else it would look like I'm in a state of denial, a sign of addiction. (Thanx, Arpy) But I can't agree either, or else that would just prove his point.   I wouldn't say I'm addicted per say, b

You Are The Resistance

I saw Terminator Salvation today. Very awesome. Very good movie. Might be the best action movie of the summer, IMO. Plenty of stuff going on, but, unlike Transformers, there was plot and coolness all rolled into one (without whiney LeBouf) and not explosions every second (which I'm not saying is a bad thing...). (Though Star Trek might be the best action movie of the summer. Hmm...)   Bale was great. Worthington was too. Actually, all the actors did a very good job. The movie was just

4 Movies!

Been watching some movies recently!   Exam: Kind of straightforward, but a thriller nonetheless. Though almost a waste of time, I kept thinking about it after viewing, realizing the events that occurred and what it all meant. Ho hum. Not a bad choice, because you could have chosen...   2001: A Space Odyssey: What a waste of time. I watched it so I could understand the "Open the pod bay doors, HAL" references. I was better off just sticking to what I already knew. Nothing happened. Yeah,

Kindle Or Nook

Does anyone have any strong opinions or facts on these eReaders? I am half-tempted to get one, and was focusing on Amazon's Kindle until recently someone had some great info on Barnes and Noble's Nook.   My biggest questions/concerns: -Are buying books for it extremely cost-effective compared to the hard-version of a book? -Are there ways to "borrow" a book for a short period of time, as I get most of my novels from the library? (And I know that really old books are usually free.) -Are tex

Spell Check Fail

I wrote out the word "internet" on my Cox.net webmail and spell check highlighted it red and said it should be "Internet."   So apparently the internet should be capitalized.   ...   -CF   Quote of the Day: Never give up. And never, under any circumstances, face the facts.

BrickCon or BricksCascade?

Or both? (I don't think both is a responsible option.)   Last year I went to BrickCon for the first time, and it was awesome. I saw friends I hadn't seen for years, met new friends, experienced a convention on the other coast and got to visit Seattle again after too long away. I even got to visit Oregon for the first time through Portland which was also really cool. I had been planning on going back, even getting a rewards credit card for redeeming a portion of a plane flight bill.   But friends

I "need" An Ipod

Abstract: I "need" an iPod so I have more space for all of my songs. I'm looking into the Nano or Touch, depending on price during a sale and my winter paycheck. Below is listed my thoughts on both types and uses/needs in an MP3 player, among other things going through my head when deciding what to get. I'd love your thoughts on what kind you use and how you manage your music.   My current 2 GB MP3 player is full with less than 800 songs. OK, it's served me less than a year. The main reaso

I Need A Camera

I figure it would be a good idea for me to finally get a digital camera, as I do not own one and whenever I need one at school I always borrow a friend's. Also I will probably need/want one for my journalism class as I'm going around to events to write about.   So I figure I should buy one before BrickFair.   I know we have some pretty camera-savvy members here, but I also know that a few/most of those people use those super expensive kinds with the removable lenses and whatnot. Don't Tell My Brother...

but I rode a roller coaster today. Three actually.   13 days until graduation!   My physics class went to Kings Dominion today for their special science day or whatever it's called. Basically the students do a few labs and then we get to hang in the park for the rest of the day.   Now, I'm not a roller coaster kind of guy. But when you're hanging out with friends, one of whom happens to be the one you're planning on asking out after you get back to school and can get her alone for a few mo

If You Sent me BrickFair MOCs

And by me I mean DV but I mean that I received them either at my house or from DV after the con and I have to send them all back... Then I guess I should let you know where I am in getting those back to you. Currently they are all sitting in a box downstairs. If you sent them exclusively to BrickFair, they are probably in the boxes they came in. All your return postage is safe in my bank account. Give Me News

*Using library computer so as not to turn on mine.* Finals suck and I don't have time to look through my spam box. It's Monday and the community wants to know what the latest update is on Bionicle.com or biggest sale of the season is.   (Note: You are unlikely to get credit for news except mentally including youself in the "BZPower members" line.)   I'll check back later tonight.   kthxbai   -CF
