The Importance Of A Good Suit

The real world has suddenly caught up to me in the past few weeks, though it isn't the only thing that's been keeping my "me" time to a minimum. I'm lucky enough to have time to watch Lost every Wednesday, and for now that's all I need.   I've been busy with my new job, a 9-5 style internship with a software consulting firm. It's a heckuvalotta fun and I'm looking forward to when I'm able to make the transfer to a full-time career. And that's where today's entry comes in.   I rarely dress u

The Hows And Whys

Well, if you've been reading the Inuva Thread in S&T, you'll have seen by now that Greg has pretty much shot down the Inuva Theory. Though on the plus side, we learned that the Toa have some part to play in the events of the next few years.   But since the Inuva Theory has been debunked, I suppose that just means it won't be official. It doesn't mean I can't have a little more fun between now and whenever I either burn out on this or finally get the time to write a full fic. (This could

The Haul List

Fairly small this year, mostly because my family pitched in for my new PC and desk a month ago...so it was an early gift. Otherwise:   Britney Spears' "Circus" (I don't care, it's dang catchy) Wedding Crashes DVD (hilarious movie)   I also bought myself Persona 4 for the PS2 and the Foo Fighters DLC pack for Rock Band (not The Colour and the Shape, but the 3-song pack). So this weekend before I go back to work will be a rockin' laugh riot.   Merry Christmas all!

The Final Friday

T-Hybrid is busy finishing up his last day at work, as well as packing up for his move tomorrow. As such, he has requested his guest writer fill in...   I have to say, I've never seen Big T this excited. He came floatin' in to the Haven today, and I mean that literally! His final four hours at the internship finish up today, followed by an afternoon of packin up his things and then by noon tomorrow he's going to be heading back home.   Personally, I was disappointed that he didn't wanna wal

The Final Draft

After two delays, and a number of surprises...Brawl is finally arriving on American shores in a few weeks. As such, I figure it's time to bring the Brawl Draft to its ultimate conclusion. (Stop celebrating you!) And what better way to wrap it up than with one of the least demanded but likely coolest possible addition to the brawl roster than to bring in one of the most well known faces of Nintendo. Ever.   ...This guy may give even my character a run for the money.   Shigeru Miyamoto

The Final Countdown

40 hrs, 2 badges, 73 seen, 44 caught...   I say that, because I've only had the game for a week. Holy cow eh? But that's not the topic of today's entry. Today we're talking about graduation, round 2.   Today marks the beginning of the final week of classes. After Friday all focus will be on my three finals, which almost appropriately enough scale up in difficulty. One a day starting Monday and finishing Wednesday. What does this all mean? Well, as of noon on Wednesday May 9th I will no

The Final Countdown

Much like KIE, I'm carefully following the events of the last three days of the MLB Regular season. Our teams in a similar posistion. Both are trying all they can to win their respective divisions. I don't know if Houston has the cushion of the Wild Card, but I'm cheering for them just the same. The Twins in the meanwhile...   For the Twins, it's sweep or play the Yankees in the first round. And even then, they have to hope the Kansas City can win at least one game. So, fellow Twins fan

The Easiest Way To Make Up Your Mind

Wii reservations became available today. It started at about 10 am CST, when I was sitting in class. I would've skipped, but I decided I've already used up my leniency on Twins games last week.   Whatever the case, they aren't available anymore. The stores in my area are all out. The local Gamestop, for example, sold out of their 14 essentially before the store opened. Fortunately I wasn't the guy who stood in line for two hours after being told he wasn't getting one...only to go "Hmmm..."

The Cats Are Back!

I was worried for a few days that all the Vice Katz had fled amidst the chaos of Maj. But thankfully they're all back now. The Brawl Is Coming

Well, Brawl launches tomorrow at midnight. And Gamestops around the country are holding the first round of a nationwide tournament. There's one in my area, and you can bet I'm going to take a shot at it. It's cool, if by some luck I make it through the first round...the next two are both at the Mall of America, which is like a 10 minute drive if even.   Other than that, anybody else picking this up? I'd love to get some Friend Codes and start brawling online with some of fellow BZPers.

The Best $3 I Never Spent

Last Sunday, my friends and I went down to a local mexican restaurant. I had just eaten, and decided to come with just to hang out with everybody. As with most restaurants of this kind, you're given free chips and salsa while you ponder your order. So they brought them out, and I had some. I decided against getting anything to eat, and just asked for a water. My friends got stuff, including a bowl of cheese dip that comes with a "bottomless" basket of chips. So throughout the night I had so

The Answer's In The Stars...or Not

So I was paging through MSN.com last night, and saw an article about the Scorpio (my astrological sign). I started reading it, and it seemed to be going well...   That describes me pretty well. I stay loyal to my friends, but if you burn me I sometimes take it too personally. And as you've sometimes seen here I can be quite vocal in my defense of a certain point of view...or a voice for those that sometimes feel like they've been wronged.   Things get a bit hazy though once it starts talk

Tally It Up

A Nintendo Wii, spare controller, and six games. Three months rent. Half my yearly car insurance. My share of tuition for a semester. A semester and a half year's worth of books. Dinner at Chipotle every night for more than 3 months.   ...What are all these things you ask? To me, they are a list of things that I could potentially buy for the price of one Playstation 3. Why do I bring it up? This past week, stores began to take preorders for the system (set to release a few days prior to

Talk About Timing!

So go figure, I return to the blogs after a long hiatus...and what should happen but two days later I come across the full assortment of Mistika, Takanuva, and vehicles sitting on the shelves in Wal-Mart.   The Makuta Mistika look amazing. Excellent variety in design. But judging from the containers for the Toa...not so much there. Now, I've only purchased Onua Mistika at the moment. I would've bought more, but I'm a bit short on fun money this time of the month (rent and car payment come d

Take The Good With The Bad

Well, I went out to my car this afternoon to find that somebody decided it'd be funny to snap off my antenna. This left me with an hour long car ride home without anything to listen to. Not good. I'm guessing at some point I should invest in an iPod. Radio stations these days are getting pretty bad when it comes to music selection. If I'm going to have to sit through Justin Timberlake's latest single eight times in one trip, I might as well be doing it to myself.   As far as the good, my t

Take That, System!

So walked into Wal-Mart to grab some cleaning supplies, and I noticed that they were completely out of Mistika. But they had just put out what I'm guessing is the last few Phantoka they had in stock. Thankfully they had both Kopaka and Pohatu, and thankfully were still charging only $9.49/   I then stopped by Target and grabbed a spare Onua. So now I have my traditional Pa-Tahian Toa, and didn't have to surrender any current sets or pay anything extra for old ones.   I managed to beat the s

Sweet Victory

Well, I got the phone call today. I'm now gainfully employed at the Buffalo Wild Wings near campus. And I'm so glad. This puts to rest the last couple months of worrying what I was going to do to make ends meet. From the sounds of things, I'll be the door guy...which means I'll be checking IDs at the door and what not. The hours are going to be evenings, which will actually blend well with my class schedule. It'll be late/early (sometimes as much as 2 AM), but that's alright. I don't have

Super Bowl Afterparty

I'm a Vikings fan. So when it came to last night's game, I was more a casual observer than a supporter of either team. I wouldn't have minded seeing Chicago win, even though it would mean having to put up with a year's worth of "NFL Champion Chicago Bears!" bragging from a diehard Chicagoean. But if I had been given my choice last night, I wouldn't have argued with the results I got.   Vikings fans miss Tony Dungy more and more with each passing day, and I was glad to finally see his coachin

Sunday Musings

It seems like forever since I last put an entry in here. Let's see, what I can talk about?   Volleyball team has tanked. We're last in the league going into the playoffs...and unless there's a miracle we'll all have our Tuesday nights open starting next week. Softball on the other hand wrapped up Friday with the Mavericks securing the League Championship with a 10-2-2 record. Despite a hot season, I finished up with an 0-6 in our last two games. That includes a force out at home with the b

Strawberry On The Shortcake!

This is a dual topic today. First off, I was going to discuss the new Wii game: "No More Heroes". It's rated M, so I have to keep talks fairly limited. In fact I'm always sorta fuzzy on what kind of discussion is allowed. Basically, the game is awesome. It's also quite violent (with some swearing...or lots I guess). The title for today's entry comes from one of the main characters Devil Modes (I think that's what they're called). He's got different ones, each with it's own advantages. Th

Spring: A Time Of Change

I know what you're all thinking. I've gone and lost my mind, right? Not at all. I had noticed a dip in the excitement level over at the Haven, and despite my best efforts to spruce the place up the customer base just never came back.   Maybe it was the massive Digimon battling it out in the streets outside the club, or maybe it was just the lack of anything interesting in the entires. Or...who knows...maybe this entire world is a figment of my imagination and I'm just talking to a bunch of

Spring Break

Though my break started Friday after work, today is the first day where I officially don't have to go to any classes. Though I don't appreciate it getting cut short by the DST change, I appreciate that its happening now instead of when I have a test or something the following Monday. I hate running on one less hour of sleep.   There are a ton of things I want to do over break, mostly involving getting preparred for my big move (again) when I graduate this May. This would include finding an a

Spoilers Delivered Straight To Your Home

The Twins got absolutely stomped by the Yankees today. And of all the times to have it happen, it was while the game was being broadcast on ESPN. *shudders* So I was left with nothing to do except watch 24 and write up this blog entry.   Saw Super Paper Mario at the Target here in Kato, but passed on picking it up because my reserved copy at Gamestop arrives tomorrow. Though recent developements have left me questioning my loyalties to the store. At first it was getting the occasional call

South's Gonna Do It Again

Back when I got my first CD player (to put a date on it, "Weird Al" Yankovic's Bad Hair Day album had just hit stores), my cousin let me borrow a truckload of CDs to try it out. Included in that collection was The Guess Who, The Beatles (which contained a catchy German rendition of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand"), and the gem of the lot...Creedence Clearwater Revival's Chronicle.   It quickly became one of my favorite CDs. Then I had to give it all back to him.   Flash forward to a few days ago.
