Home Review

I was going to write my Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 review the other day, but my computer has crashed at least once each day since then, which is really annoying. I don't know what's wrong with it, and it's quite unjust, because I decided to buy the most expensive, advanced computer on the market that Best Buy told me wouldn't have all of these problems. I figured that this computer would last me about six years, but now I'm no longer sure about that. Wow, what a waste of money.   Anyway, spe

The Ideal Person to Re-Cast Hugh Jackman

The same guy who recast Peter Cushing.   Seriously, the only way of moving forward is to create a CGI Hugh Jackman. It would be a lot more convincing than CGI Cushing, too, because he's been filmed in ultra-high-definition, and quite likely has had a digital scan performed on his face. The technology for resurrecting actors will be even better in several years, so if they waited until the early 2020's before debuting CGI Jackman, they could probably make it work. I think that they can do it.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

This opening week in May has been real busy with an onslaught of special days. May 1 was May Day (also, if you were living in the Midwest, it snowed on that day). May 4 was Star Wars Day. And now we've reached the end of this crazy week of holidays, and we reach the most special day of them all...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfVsfOSbJY0   24601

Revenge of the Fifth

I forgot to make an entry on May 4. Literally, the only Star Wars thing that I did yesterday was to call up a friend who was a fellow Star Wars fan and say the obligatory words.   My kids were a little disappointed that I didn't do anything Star Wars related that day. Another teacher definitely showed me up by bringing a lightsaber. Thing is, I have several toy lightsabers. I have unlisted videos of Youtube of little cousins playing with them at family birthday parties. I even have on video

Rey is a...

Skywalker? Kenobi? Palpatine?   We've heard all of the theories. We've speculated on everyone who could be her parents from Luke to Watto. If the character exists in the STAR WARS universe, there is a fan theory out there about how he or she is Rey's parent.   Which is why I think that the only way that Disney is going to surprise us is to make her parents someone from outside of the STAR WARS universe. My hypothesis is that Disney made an agreement before buying Lucasfilm from 20th Century

OPA REMIX STYLE!

In order from best to technically-worst-buut-definitely-still-awesome, I discovered these mashup songs. Man, they're really catchy. I think that if I just put these on a playlist, and put the playlist on repeat and got out a jump rope, I'd find the inspiration to burn a ton of calories every day.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VKkXhbJJgM (Why doesn't this have more views?)   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82LCKBdjywQ   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wn45Nd02nCU   https://www.yo

Reasons to Move to Canada

A definitive list.   1. The Wolverine is Canadian. You'll have something in common with Wolverine. 2. The women are magical. When they go out into the woods and sing, squirrels and deer and red-necked grosbeaks respond, and follow them home and help them do chores. 3. The men are super-manly. They are build like lumberjacks and have super-thick beards. Some of them are even as manly as Wolverine. 4. There are only ten provinces to remember the capitals to. 5. You have a better chance of mee

SPIRIT is a n00b

That guy actually comments on my recent blog entries. Only someone with no life would actually read my blog. Why, SPIRIT? Why would you do this to yourself? I used to write thought-out stuff, but it's all fecal matter now.     24601

Walt Disney was not an Anti-Semite

Sadly, the existence of anti-Semites ini the west gives some credibility to unsubstantiated accusations of anti-Semitism in perfectly decent people. Walt Disney is one such person. I'm sure many of you have heard it said that he was an anti-Semite.   This myth particularly frustrates me. I have done Disney-inspired art, and even a portrait of Disney himself. I admire him. He's a great role model for me, and he has influenced my philosophy towards life in general, as well as more specific th

CIA Agent Jimmy Olson

There is a real-life James Olson, and he's a former CIA agent who did espionage work in multiple countries, from France, to Soviet Russia, to even North Korea (how a white spy managed to blend in North Korea beats me). I got to meet him on a couple of occasions. Here are some de-classified things that I learned: The CIA has professors on college campuses who "spot" people with potential. Married CIA agents who go into the field together are a thing. Said married couples are allowed to, if the

President Trump Killed Anne Frank

So I was playing this game called diep.io. It's a bit like agar.io, except that you have a little tank that you shoot people down with. I decided to make my tank's name Anne Frank, because I thought "Who would shoot someone with that name?" Well...you saw the title. You clicked and read this entry. Take a wild guess at the name of the tank that took me out.   To be fair, I had upgraded my tank to the Assassin class, and I was on the leaderboard. That's not exactly the type of person that you wan

The Interview Review

Truly, a great film. I remember watching online when it first came out. If only it had had a successful wide release. In an ideal world, everyone would have gone and seen it, and it would have also won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. What a wonderful story!   Also, due the the circumstances surrounding the release of this film, I think that it's destined to become a cult classic.   24601

The Best HISHE Ever?

I still say that their best was How Terminator Salvation Should Have Ended, but this easily takes second place. I totally didn't see this coming, but it was perfect.   Hugh Jackman, you were the best casting choices in history! I am so glad that I got to grow up with you!   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIl_FiV8V6E   24601

Disney Stockholm Syndrome

I want to write a fan fiction. You might be familiar with some of the elements of the story: a strong Disney heroine who isn't like the other girls ends up the prisoner of a dude with a curse, who thinks that if he keeps her long enough, she will eventually see the good in him and fall for him.   Except this fan fiction goes all-out Christopher Nolan and treats the subject matter as dark, gritty, and realistic. It's a cerebral psychological case-study, a thriller, and a morbid fable of the cru

Queen Elsa vs. Avatar Korra

Elsa doesn't just bend, but can also create ice from nothing. The scope of her powers is also far greater than Korra's, because she can literally change the season of an entire country. It doesn't seem that the use of her powers requires her to expend any energy. She can also create life, and form giant, scary minions.   However, since said life would be made out of snow, Avatar Korra could easily bend them. Also, although Korra isn't as powerful in any specific bending skill as Elsa is in h

Favorite Comedian

He's sarcastic, irreverent, indecent, offensive, trollish, trouble-making, scandalous, provocative, narcissistic, and unfit for polite society. He's also opinionated, and I disagree with him on plenty of things, but dang, even when he offends me, he entertains me, because he's just so fun. While not the most elegant comedian ever, he's so flawed that he's relatable and so outrageous that he's charismatic. That may not be your type of humor, but if you know anything about me, you know that I l

Anaconda Music Video Review

For years, I have heard of this music video, though I never bothered to watch it myself. What I knew of it came from one of those Fine Bros. videos from the series called "Elders React" — which showed me enough of what I needed to see in order to get a basic opinion.   Recently, I was watching a year-in-review video made back when 2014 was freshly in the grave. Accompanying me was an elder. Except for some political stuff, such as Russia's power play in Crimea. One thing that got him curious
