The Most Important Issues

Sadly, the issues that really matter are not on the ballot. I almost got to meet my governor and talk about them before election day, but sadly that moment for the history books never happened.   Next election, though, I propose these core issues: Convert our counting system to Base 120. Pass a constitutional amendment denying the existence of Canada. Change all of the lame state flags that looks alike. The ones that are okay can stay the same, but all those others need to go. Make Ithkuil

How I voted in 2016

I didn't like any of the candidates on the ballot, even the third party candidates. You'd think that I'd be the type of person who wouldn't vote, but I did. I voted for a write-in candidate. Guys, you can always vote for a write-in.   And no, I didn't write in Superman with Michael Phelps as his running mate. I take my write-ins somewhat seriously, and I tried to come up with an actual ticket that I thought was good for the country. Not that I have a huge issue with people who vote for Mickey Mo

Vote On My Cube!

The future of my V-Cube 7 is in your hands. The stickers are beginning to wear off and it won't be long before I must buy a new set from Cubesmith.com, and when that happens, I might as well start a custom color scheme. What we're looking at here is something that's quasi-grayscale. Below is a list of the colors that interest me, and it is up to you, yes you, to help me decide what color combination is the most aesthetically pleasing and stylish:   Grayscale set White Black Gray Tan Copper Go

The Last Dab | Scorpion Pepper Edition

The heat of the Moruga Scorpion Pepper mixed with great flavor for an all-round excellent sauce. It just came in stock at TheHeatonist.com, and I bought two whole bottles. I can't really swallow exotic textures, but I can stomach most any flavor. I also bought a bottle of the Blazin' Sauce with Ghost Peppers from Buffalo Wild Wings and plan on using as much of it as I can at barbecues over the summer. By the time I get to using The Last Dab, it should be mid-August. There are some people I know

Aly On the Floor

Congratulations to Aly Raisman for winning gold on the floor. She also won bronze on the balance beam thanks to a wonderful connection of pirouettes, but that was nothing compared to her floor routine. Right at the very beginning, it had the grace and the power necessary to win, and her execution was flawless. As they say in gymnastics, she stuck it. It's really nice to see a spotless performance without any noticeable flaws. Congratulations, Aly, you just delivered the greatest floor routi

Definition Of Reality

Since Robo apparently needs me to spell it out for him, I am going to define reality by breaking up the word into separate parts. "Reality" contains the root word "real" and the suffix "ity". Here is how the dictionary defines the word "real".   QUOTE existing as a fact; not imagined or made up; actual;true     The suffix "ity" is defined as:         Thus, the logical conclusion defining the amalgam of these two units of language is "the condition of existing as a fact".   To explain where Rob

Open Letter to JAG18

Well, I have now learned the hard way (or should I say, the "hot way") that BWW's hottest sauce is not my thing. I can put up with any level of spicines so long as it only tastes hot and doesn't actually hurt you, in the spirit of "mind over matter." I draw a really solid line between me and anything that will actually damage my body in very physical ways. So if I start bleeding, then I don't want to put that stuff in my esophagus. With this in mind, I will not actually try the full BWW Blazin'

Aquaman: Quick Thoughts

Well, I watched it a couple of days ago. So here we go: This is one of the only movies I've ever immediately bought a ticket to rewatch it after leaving the theatre. It really excited me. At various points, it reminded me in the best possible way of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Avatar: James Cameron Edition, the Sam Raimi Spider-Man, Mad Max: Fury Road, TRON: Legacy, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Godzilla, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Finding Nemo, Jules Vern, old pulp serials about pirates, th

BRAVE Review

In my first review, I urged people to watch it and then rewatch it. Not wanting to be a hypocrite, I did exactly that yesterday and fell in love all over again. My only regret is not being able to see it in 3D, which I think would have actually been one of the best 3D experiences ever. To make up for that, I sat so close to the screen that it literally took up my entire vision. For good measure, I sat on the edge of my seat.   Every once and a while a movie comes along that really blows me a

Canceled Hotdog Summit

I was hoping to meet with my father before work and put some hotdogs on the grill this morning. Unfortunately, that could not come to pass, and I gave him this formal Filial Statement:   Dear Mr. Old Man,  I greatly appreciate your initial availability for a barbecue schedules to take place at 12 today at your place with Siracha. I was looking forward to having lunch with you. Sadly, based on the tremendous distractedness and open apathy displayed by your most recent statement, I feel that

Retroactively, I don't like Eragon

When I first read that book series, I loved it. In hindsight, I realize just how derivative the whole thing was. Do I regret reading it? No, since it passed the time and kept me entertained, which is a positive for any book, but it still doesn't make them good books. That's like saying that junk food is good food because it tastes good. I'd go through a comprehensive list of everything that was wrong about those books, but in order to truly get into detail, I'd have to re-read them, which I

Autumn Phantom

The moment arrived to sit on the curb To become one with the frail autumn leaves Alone, away from all the rest, to rest Never to let them see what could disturb A man who walks with his back to the breeze   Away, away, to hold communion here With the dried remains of the Earth's substance With the still October air, with an air Of Death, which in earnest speaks in my ear How the door I seek is not an entrance   Avant! Alas! The grimmer days I've found! The wind

Santa isn't real

It's okay to break this news to kids. However, telling people that America isn't #1? Completely off limits. You're never too old to stop believing this.   England has suave accents? America has suaver accents.   France has a nuclear carrier? America has more nuclear carriers.   Germany has good cars? America has better cars.   Denmark has the world's happiest population? America has a happier population. Plus we're free.   Russia is really big? America has Texas.   The Soviet Union put man in sp

I Bought a Mac

It's from earlier this decade, and I think that it's the one that they made in the first half of 2014, according to the tech support guys who sold it to me.  There have been a few major discounts coming from their office, selling used Macbooks for a couple hundred dollars and stuff like that.  Not just anybody can buy them. In any case, the takeaway here is that I have a Mac.  Specifically, a five-and-a-half-year-old Mac Mini, with some dismal I/O and a little bit of dust inside.  However,

Relating With A Tesseract

A thought occurred to me about Starbuck. How does making the character female change the character? Now granted, there are subtle differences here and there, but really, what's the difference between a girl acting cocky and a guy acting cocky other than the way we perceive it? I cannot speak for the opposite sex, but I suppose that the sensation known as "feeling" is the exact same between the two sexes, although some feelings would come up more commonly in one sex than in the other.   I mean

Excited about Valerian

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_shrCoqWh9k   It looks kind of dumb, but you know what sells me? Passion. If you see any of the "making of" segments, it's clear that Luc Besson is passionate about it. He'l right to advertise it as "a vision a lifetime in the making." That sort of passion sells more than any special effect. Also, he's freaking Luc Besson we're talking about here, director of The Fifth Element. If he does anything that's even in the same genre as that film, I'm in.   It makes m

Name Change - Vote Now!

Well, it grows near the time to get another name change. At around January 26, I will be eligible to change my name again. I have come up with several name ideas, and I am of course letting you guys have your say by voting. Here are the candidates.   Emperor Kraggh - "If elected, I promise to return you to a classical era!" St. Kraggh - Well, my name in art is St. John, which you would know if you read my Glaedr blog entry, and the title is a unique one for a BZP name. Bones Jr. - Don't worry

I'm Crying

Dear Blog, I just got done opening a couple dozen letters left behind for me after my graduation party. Before working on them, I got out a sheet of paper to write down who to sent thank-you letters to. I would also write down what to thank them for.   Before going through these letters, I was depressed for various reasons, most of them having to do with relationships. I've always been a little awkward and have found it hard to feel that my friends supported me. I wanted to spend more time w

BZPower Rewind 2018

No more BIONICLE. Hasn't had much BIONICLE in a while.   Wait, let's interrupt this rewind to talk about what's really important and pat the backs of BZPers who stood for something bigger then themselves. They told us all that we wouldn't read another book again after we finished high school, but now we can beat that statistic by listening to books on the go. I use Audible all th

Episode IX delayed until December

So it looks like it's going to wait for a little over another half year before it's released. Again, because of the drama with the director. Hopefully this means that it will be extra good, and honestly, I'm not complaining.   Wonder Woman 2 was also going to be released in December 2019, but now that's obviously going to get pushed back. No studio in their right mind would want to compete with the God of Blockbusters. Speaking of Wonder Woman, her HISHE came out, and my absolute favorite part i

Adam West Batman Movie review

"Jingle bells, Batman smells! Robin laid an egg! The Batmobile lost a wheel..." These lyrics and and Adam West were the first impression I ever had of Batman growing up. I do remember the movie series that started with Michael Keaton and the animated series, which was ironically the most serious of these incarnations of the character, but my real indroduction to Batman was through the Adam West television show. The character was fun and I never tried to take him too seriously, so Batman Beg

I Am Player One

Since I actually thought that the movie was pretty great and a good moment for Spielberg, I decided to name my diep.io tank Player One. I have been upgrading to this particular tank that you see here. You don't see it here, but I also managed to kill someone with a tank named Adolf Hitler during this round. It felt pretty good. Too bad there wasn't any player named Sixer or Sorranto. Anyway, I died a couple of times, but managed to consistently come back to make it to the #1 spot.   24601

Pewdiepie is dang handsome

I recently discovered who he was, which I suppose is inevitable, considering that he makes more money off of Youtube than anyone else. What I have to say is that I swear, this guy who sits in a basement and plays video games looks like a supermodel and has blue eyes to get lost in and die for. He even slips into speaking the beautiful language of Svenska sometimes! I absolutely love Svenska, with its seventeen vowels and pitch-tone accent! And Ikea!   Only two problems with that guy: with as
