Bitil Surprize

On Tuesday, I came across a 40%-off clearance sale on Mistika. I bought the only one I'd been loath to pay full price for, and the only one I was missing:   Bitil.   My expectations were low, low, low. My general impression from images of the set had been that it was mediocre, lackluster, sub-par. BZP friends on MSN had told me Bitil wasn't worth the money. The only pieces I really wanted were the yellow Rahkshi limbs, and I knew where I could get those separately. But forty percent off for th

Bionicle Album On The Horizon?

A quote from the website's news ticker: "The band is currently in the studio. An upcoming album will include new versions of Creeping in My Soul, Face Me and Gravity Hurts.." This bodes well, my friends. Achh. My cochleae be tingling with anticipation already. -BC

Big Change...

As you may know, I'm studying in the field of forestry for the second year now. It's a great field: lots of exciting opportunities and challenges, plenty of work available, an endless supply of new things to learn, a prospect for the future. My school is great, too: my courses are giving me the qualifications to work in a wide range of positions across many different fields, I'm receiving a top-notch education in Forestry, and I've gotten to know some really awesome people.   So what's up with

Bestest. Song. Evar.

It's the Phantoka commercial song, Gravity Hurts. None of the previous songs officially linked with Bionicle have been close to this good, in my opinion. I've probably listened to this song twenty times in two days. It's a powerful anthem, I think, with a powerful message, if you know how to listen. And, boy, those vocals are really something, not to mention the artistry on drums, keyboard and guitar.   Click to listen - right click and Save as to download   Tension is rising Gravity hurts

Ballistic Member Interview

As I mentioned, I was recently interviewed by the excellent Takuta-Nui, a fellow Canadian and writer of some of the most amazing BIONICLE fan fiction I have ever seen.     Read the complete interview here.

Back From The Dead And Why This Blog Died In The First Place

Some of you have taken the time to express concern over the sudden vandalization of my blog and profile. Thank you for your concern. No, I was not hacked, fortunately. That was all done by me. Or, shall I say, me under the influence of something as dangerous as any harmful psychoactive substance: severe depression. It was what I might describe as an attempted overdose; I wanted to feel as miserable as I could, and all that black energy that I fed into myself demanded an outlet. Hence my blacked-

B C In The Bricks

Introducing BC Matoran of Wonder Not to be confused with BZPower member BCii, who is in fact a living, breathing human being. This MOC will not be posted anywhere else, so please direct all your comments to the comments thread. Thank you and have a wonderful day! -BC

B C Double I Is A Girly-man! Photographic Proof!

Before you ask -- yes, that is a purple and pink spiral pendant. Jango Fett purple, to be exact. Never could figure out a good use for those pieces.   I can't believe how many shots it took before I got a half-decent picture of myself. (14)   Oh my word, I'm so only doing this for the comments... What's gotten into me?   -BC

B B C C 55

It's been a while since I last entered an official BBC Contest. Fortunately, the latest one, just announced, is set to change that.   As luck would have it, ToM Dracone's recent excellent rendition of Administrator Piyufi already inspired me to take another go-round at MOCing everyone's favourite puffin gal. She seems to be my favourite, too, as far as MOCs of BZPower members go -- I've done her portrait in bricks twice already, which is like 10,000 times my average for BZP members. But then, t

Attention, Library-dwellers!

Scroll down below the annoying Lillipütties content block. That's the BCii Reading List. It's pretty empty as yet, with just three stories, but I do intend to fill it out with more. If you'd like to help, just send me a PM linking to the story/stories you think should be included.   Just a note: a story that gets selected will most likely break from convention in some way, and do it exceptionally well. No run-of-the-mill Bionicle fan fiction need apply. I'm on the lookout for gems!   -BC

Ask For More ._.

Yeah, the title is from Cryoshell's Murky. Which is a great song, by the way. I've probably listened to it thirty times.   So I put my slalom skis up for auction with a starting bid of 55 euros and a Buy It Now price of 85. Some dude down by Turku snapped them up for the 85 within hours. I'm thinking I could have asked for more. <.< But I don't care that much. The point is to get rid of all the things I don't need, one way or another, and just raise enough cash to get me started on my wa

Apocalyptica: Reflections

Apocalyptica is a well-known Finnish band that presently comprises three cellists: Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, and Paavo Lötjönen. I'm not such a huge fan of their earlier, cello-only albums; while there's something to be said for purism, it's also a sure-fire way to retain a fringe following and not much else. For instance, one of their early albums, Apocalyptica Plays Metallica by Four Cellos, is interesting to me mainly as a musical experiment; while it's a pretty well-done interpretat

Another Productive Saturday

(The reason I don't update on weekends = dependence on school computer lab. The world is a cold, cruel place. Pray for me.)   Saturday night. I've been suffering through a lonely day at the dorm, some degree of lethargy evident. Grandma calls, we chat about random current stuff, say goodbye. My meandering train of thought wanders into a nasty old tunnel. I start remembering a painful event about five years ago.   Not the terrorist attacks in the U.S.A. They did come as a shock, but the level

Another List?!

New content block, idea ripped off of Takuma Nuva.   It was kinda interesting to go back and read all those old entries. :wakeup2: [/nostalgia] Seems like I've been slipping lately, though. Putting less of myself into this blog than before, in favour of more random comment bait. Hmm. Tsktsk @ self.   <o> <o>

Anniversaries, Crop Circles, And Full Moon Syndrome

Today is 7-7-2009.   The moon is full.   Correspondingly, I have spent a sleepless night. Didn't even try to sleep. Didn't feel all that sleepy to begin with. Full moons do that to me. I did, however, fulfill my body's earnest demand for sleep from about 8:30 to about 13:30 today. So I'm running on five hours of sweet oblivion and two cups of mocha.   Today happens to be the fourth anniversary of the London metro bombings. Interestingly, the planners of the attacks chose the date 7-7-2005,

And The Winner Is...

... wait for it...         That's right, folks. I have returned from my phantom lurkingness to announce a winner in the Great Hedgehog Hill Kanohi Contest (see previous entry for details). I apologize for the delay.         And so now we're all burning with anticipation to find out who it was that came up with a winning name and power for my original, exclusive Kanohi mask, right?         It is none other than...         ... the amazing...         ... the talented...         ... a person w

Allow Myself To Introduce...

Myself. Now I'm not fool enough to post my real full name here. And since I have an unusual pair of non-last names, I won't reveal the other one of those either. I'll anglicize it to Joe. Joe is my socially cold Finnish half. Bill is my socially cold Canadian half. I've decided people can call me either Bill or Joe, according to the flavour of social coldness they prefer. Like ice cream: shall I have the Belgian Chocolate or the Choco Blast? It doesn't matter which one you choose. I don't taste

Agori Arrive In Finland, Woot!

So after the demonstration downtown today, I still had 45 min of parking time left. I stowed my sign away in my car (no, I won't say what was on it -- it was a symbol that to describe would probably get me in trouble with the staff) and went shopping. Picked up a picture frame, a pocket calendar, and. . .   AGORI.   Kudos to Stockmann for stockin' these guys -- the other store I visited earlier today only had Power Miners in their shipment. (I got two copies of 8957 Mine Mech from there -- ora
