The Hunt For Icarax

For the first time since the end of December, I got to write some more of ED. And I LOVED how this chapter came out.   Anyway, we were going to go back to TRU tonight to see if they had restocked with Icarax, but it snowed hard, then rained, so the roads are really icy. *Sigh* I guess there's always tomorrow...

Transformers Birthday

My uncle grew up with the original Transformers show -- he's obsessed with it. Therefore, he wants to see the new movie completely unbiased with no information or opinions about it. He said he'd wait for the DVD if he had to. Fortunately, neither me nor my mom could allow such a thing.   So, this Tuesday, we're taking him to see it for his birthday. Which gives me a reason to see it again.   *pelvic thrust of victory*

Avatar

Got back from seeing the new James Cameron movie Avatar not too long ago.   It was pretty good. The visual effects were BEAUTIFUL and some of the best I've ever seen on screen. Story was a little cliche, but still entertaining.   My biggest problem with it was that it dragged on for WAY too long. It's almost three hours long, but the problem is that not a lot actually happened in that time. For a good chunk in the middle I thought they spent far too long on the "Look at all the cool stuff" fac

No More Coffee After 10:00 Am

Kay, so I was writing a new chapter of my epic last night, and it was getting good and I didn't want to lose my train of thought, but I started getting sleepy. My mom said that one cup of coffee should keep me up that extra hour to hour-and-a-half to finish the chapter. I discovered that my systems work differently than hers.   So I was up all night. Meaning as of now, I've been up for 26 1/2 hours, and I'm WIDE AWAKE. But it was a really cool chapter...   In other news, my brother and I manag

Wolverine

Finally saw it. I would like those two hours of my life back and a personal apology from the writer for what he/she did with Deadpool.

I Chose... Rapture!

And that title will explain my general lack of activity here on BZP for the last few days. For Christmas, my grandfather got BioShock for the PC. But we found that it would not work right. So we had my computer expert uncle come about a week or so later (he's got a busy job) to check it out. Turns out our graphics card wasn't good enough, so we had to buy a new one over the internet. That took a little while longer to get here, then get it into the computer. We got it working, and my grandfather

Epic Status

Hey guys! I suppose you may be wondering about the status of the epic in which some people's Toa star (Hyperion, Nuhala, Sylea, and Kivu). I've hit a couple roadblocks here and there, but I've managed to push through them. At the moment, I've written through thirty-one pages double-spaced on OpenOffice and am about halfway through the fifth chapter. Doesn't seem like much, I know, but I've managed to go through two large battles and one small skirmish (the aftermath of which I posted here a whil

Swan Song

And so, after quite a while, I finally finished the 956-page novel, Swan Song. It is officially my all-time favorite book. EVER. It's sooooo good! Now words can express how good it is.   And ya know what's weird? Even if you've read it only once, you'll remember just about every single detail twenty or thirty years later. I know, I thought it was impossible, too, but it isn't. And you'll never forget the opening line: "Once upon a time, we had a love affair with fire."   It's long, but it's so

This Sucks

Well, I'm sure you've all noticed that Demon's Tears seems to have hit a brick wall. Honestly, I haven't worked on any of my own writing since February. Yep. It's been almost seven months since I've been able to do what I really want to do with my life.   And believe me, I've wanted to. Badly. There's practically nothing I love more. And the only reason I got anything done in February is because we were snowed in for a week (a blessing in disguise). But my professors seemed to assign me essays,

Project Origin

OMG. Someone lent me a GameInformer magazine today that had this whole big article on Project Origin, the full sequel to F.E.A.R.: First Encounter Assault Recon. I read it. It sounds AMAZING. You play a guy named Michael Beckett, a Delta Squad leader sent in to the Armacham facility to do something that has yet to be revealed. It starts half an hour before the ending of F.E.A.R., so it's before the Origin facility explodes. Alma's body was released from her containment chamber, as shown at the

Roodaka

...is awesome.   Yeah, I wacthed Web of Shadows today for the first time in... a long time. Her scary awesomeness has reminded me how scary and awesome she really is.   Reminds me of that old topic, "Who's the best-looking Bionicle?" where all the male members said Roodaka and Toa Nokama and all the females said Toa Vakama.

College Housing

Hey guys! Home for Easter this weekend, so thought I'd blog a bit.   But OH MY GOD. Next year is going to be awesome! So today (well, at the time of writing this, technically yesterday) was the housing lottery for the substance-free housing for next year. Me, my future roommate Tom, my current rommate Josh, and my friends Nick, Alex and Katalin all agreed to live together there. Not only did we get lucky enough to live together, but we'll all be neighbors: Tom and I in one room, Katalin and her

Ohhhhhhh Yeeeeaaahhhhh

It's early for my usual blog entry time, but...   (sorry bout the flash) Lady K, you may now envy me.   Envy me more by seeing the back.   And the inside with CD. And yes, I edited out the code for the secret sword forT2T. Nyah.   Anyways, about the sword, I really didn't have a design in mind, just something like PoP swords, as some of them are usually dark and twisted-looking. It's for the main bad guy (he who has wing-a-lings, used to be my personal photo).   Thanks again. Well, on our

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Been a while since I've updated this thing, but I have to say this movie was amazing, felt like I was 11-13 again when I first watch Lord of the Rings all those years ago. Unlike those, however, I've read the book before seeing this movie. I absolutely loved the extra stuff they added that was only mentioned in passing in the book, especially since I know who the Necromancer is, and I can't wait to see that plot unfold.   Acting is top notch, as it was in LOTR. Martin Freeman is fantastic as Bil

Dark Passion Play

Yes -- IT IS MINE! Sadly, they didn't have the two-disk special edition, which had all of the songs in instrumental only (which would've been AMAZING for writing). Oh well -- the album is amazing. Anette sounds awesome. Again, The Poet and the Pendulum is one of the best songs ever made. Meadows of Heaven also sounds really great. And if you love Celtic-sounding music, like I do, Last of the Wilds and The Islander, which was inspired by Jethro Tull, are your songs. 7 Days to the Wolves is also a

Something I Just Noticed

I know I'm way late, but I never thought of it before. I was doing something in my room (or supposed to be doing something, I can't remember) earlier today when I glanced down at Icarax's box in the corner. He has such cool box art, and I thought, "Wow, that would make an awesome desktop background/wallpaper." Then I realized: Why aren't there any titan wallpapers on the Bionicle site? Or even Matoran?   Just thought it was odd.

I May Become A Pirate!

Talk about the weirdest accidents imaginable.   Kay, it was a BEAUTIFUL day out. My cousin's party was cancelled, since she was sick. Our dad was visiting. So, since it was so nice out, we went out with three foam pump rockets and just ran around and shot at each other. It all went well for the first hour or so.   Then, during one incident, my dad was chasing me while I was attempting to put a rocket onto the launcher. I was paying attention to that so much that I never saw my brother until it

At Last

Well, I beat Scratches. Oh. My. God.   I had glanced at a couple walkthroughs -- they all said "Climb through the wall and you beat the game!" and "Climb through that hole and you're done!" Never did I expect an ending quite like that. I won't spoil it, but ironically, just before I thought "Wow, there weren't as many scary things in this game as I thought." Heh. Hehehe. Two seconds later I met the motherload.   But you still never figure out what exactly happened! Who was that guy at the end?

An Experiment

I'm about ready to flip out. With college less than a week away, I've been so freaking busy and stressed for so long now. Especially with that huge graduation party for me on Saturday. But between that, the dentist appointment I had the other day, getting stuff for college, contacting my roommate, reading my summer reading book... It's been insane. And to make things worse, I'm trying as hard as I can to get as much writing done on that epic before I have to leave, but I have the biggest writer'
