So...

So you know that topic in GD where people are arguing if the Comedies forum is going (or has already gone) down the tubes?   That, among many other things, has got me thinking.   It's that that's made me think I'm going to write a comedy.   It's the many other things that provide the content.   I don't plan on posting even the first chapter until a significant amount is done. I know where I'm headed, what story I want to tell, and roughly how I'm going to do it. There's going to be an ending

So What Am I Doing?

This might take a while. 50% zoom.   Original sketch done with no reference whatsoever. Accuracy be da....rned.

So Today Is...

Little (GL-themed, obviously) doodle I scrawled in my agenda, on today's date, which of course is my birthday.   Eh, unfortunately not the best of days. Mostly small misfortunes that will go away, but what really gets me is that my dinky lil' Chinese MP3 player finally broke, after 2 years of functioning fine. Not by any fault of its own, either; you know how you're supposed to eject a device before removing it? The school computers wouldn't let me... so now it can't communicate with my compu

So Interesting Things Have Happened

And I keep forgetting to mention them in favor of posting random ramblings. I wonder why.   First off a classmate of mine was elected to the school board! Pretty cool, eh? The day after the elections everyone was congratulating her so much I think she was utterly sick of it by the end of the day. XD English class kept getting interrupted. We received like five phone calls and then a photographer (with a really loud rapid-fire camera) from the Star-Ledger came and snapped photos for the last hal

So I Made A Plot Twist Today

52-pickup, updated on Sundays as always...   Since I doubt many people will find the above link interesting I may as well do this again.   Oh yeah, today's episode of Rideback was amazing.

So I Just Had A Thought

It just occurred to me that basically, the Aeneid is Homer fanfiction.   Actually this thought might have occurred to me before, except I forgot. So... it recurred to me?   Anyway see my previous entry.

So I Feel Rather Stupid

I just spent forty minutes thinking I was locked out of my room and killing time.   Campus security finally comes by and unlocks my door and I head in and guess what? My ID card (and room key) was not on my desk.   No. As it would turn out, when putting it back into my wallet, I'd accidentally stuck it into some random pocket BEHIND my normal school ID and a bunch of other stuff including last year's Columbia ID and some calling cards. A pocket I only bothered to check when I'd come back in to

So

So.   ...   I should probably have something to rant about.   Or maybe something to make an odd point concerning.   Or perhaps an interesting anecdote.   I know! Seen Traffic, the most recent one I just put up? Well, did I say I entered it in this video contest at school? If I didn't, now I did. And I don't know what place I got out of ten but I made the top ten, that I know, which isn't saying much since I doubt there were more than 15 entries. But anyway, yeah. Problem is they don't like

Snow Day!

Man I needed this. So much stuff due... not to mention US Physics coming up.   I think I had a hilarious anecdote from over the weekend except I forgot it. So it goes. :\   I finished Stranger in a Strange Land. Pretty crazy. A lot happened over the course of the story. Of course it's also necessary to keep in mind it was 1961 when this was first published... so science and ideas change. But overall I enjoyed it.   Was out shoveling snow for a while. Arms still kinda sore. We got a lot, and t

Snow (half) Day!

Due to inclement weather, we went home over two hours early. =D   WOOOOOOOT!

Snow

Well, what else is there to say?   SNOW. =D It's awesome. And since there's no whipping biting winds during snow (unless it's a blizzard of course), it's a very pleasant kind of cold out.   Yay.

Snow

Snow.   SNOOOOOW.   Snow.   Snow!   !wonS   So anyway it's snowing out.   Also, I've posted chapter 2 of 52-pickup. Updates won't normally be this frequent, though.   Snow!

Snoooooooow!

Okay, firstly, before the fun, I absolutely must complain.   We had school yesterday. EVERY OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICT IN NEW JERSEY HAD OFF BUT WE HAD SCHOOL. Heck, most school districts in the entire tristate area had at least some kind of delay or early closing.   I mean, when the bus dropped us off in the afternoon I literally could not see more than two feet in front of me coming home from the bus stop. Why? Because I had to pull my hood down over my eyes so ice particles wouldn't blow into th

Sliding Door Theory...

Mudd (the building in which the Gateway Computer lab is in [YES IT'S NAMED "Mudd" get over it >>]) has automatic sliding doors, but the "automatic' turns off at night and on weekends... and my ID isn't programmed into that particular door (it's programed into Gateway's door, but it's useless if I can't get into the building to get into the lab). I asked about it and was told that I'd just have to wait for someone to leave. Even the TA's, who are actual Columbia students and whatnot, can't

Sinuses

*moan*   Head... throbbing... nose... clogged...   Gwauh... ;~;   Should be finishing Lyg comic... don't wanna miss another week... *sigh*...   Dunno what's been going on lately, I mean, it's FALL, not spring, so what could I be allergic to? But my nose has been running, and I've been having nosebleeds, and now this sinus headache... oooooooh...   Very unpleasant.

Silly Typoes

I swear I need to kick these editors in the head.   This is a COLLEGE LEVEL Physics text (it's for AP Physics actually, but it's still a college text) and they have silly typoes in it.   Like in the introduction to the chapter on Newtonian mechanics, it mentions that "if you stop peddling your bicycle on level ground, you soon come to rest."   PEDDLING your bicycle?     Oy.

Sign Design

So at Columbia in Havemeyer Hall (er... sp?) there's a sign right outside the men's bathroom, next to it. It's probably the first thing you see as you're walking down the hall towards the bathroom. It looks something like this:   WOMEN'S RESTROOM Take stairway down to second floor >>>   Now, maybe it's just me, but I can't help but think the sign might be a bit more effective if it instead looked like, I dunno...   MEN'S RESTROOM For women's restroom take stairway down to second

Sick Day

"Hi!"   "Hi."   "Long time no see!"   "Yeah."   "How is you?"   "Eh, fine I guess. Still hanging around next to T. You hear anything about U?"   "I has no idea."   "Yeah, neither does J."     ... that actually has nothing to do with the rest of this entry. Just an anecdote I don't think I ever shared. (I'm the second speaker BTW)   So I wasn't on the intertubes at all for most of yesterday. That is because I was sick. That is also why I happen to be on the 'tubes right now, instead of

Sick

Only a borderline temperature (99) but boy do I feel sick.   Guh...   Wonder where I got it.   Oh yah the MoC I mentioned last entry. It's "finished" so to speak (the process of modification and tweaking tends to be infinite) and I'm really proud of it. However, I'd like to first see if there's an LGD contest being planned any time soon before I post it.

Shuffle

I realize that I don't have a lot of songs, especially compared to those folks out there with 3 days of music or something...   Still, I've heard that song three times today, and as nice a song as it is, could you get a better random number generator please?

Shows What We Know

Today in Global Studies we were asked to, in groups, make lists of various countries around the world such as "Top 3 Wealthiest Nations," etc., based on what we knew, and then check our guesses against actual statistics.   Well, we got the wealthiest nations wrong (this I blame on the question; the statistic was listed in per capita GDP, while we were just considering GDP in general) and the question that asked for the country with the 4th highest population (ignoring the first 3, which of cour

Shiny!

(click the thumbnail)   So I figured out, in a general sense, raytracing... and I learned it all by myself except for the parts I didn't know! Haha naw I hadta get one of the TAs to show me, but I think I have it down now. So the car is shiny.   I also theoretically know how to add custom textures from Photoshop, but, uh... yeah, I tried, didn't quite work out. So STILL no racing stripes. I managed to get the stripes on SORT OF, but they sure as heck weren't pointing the right way. Nor were t

Shichishoku No Niconico Douga

Is the awesomest thing ever.   For those with a Nico account, it's sm7357773. Well, one version of it, at least, with a nifty accompanying video.   Around 50 or 60 (probably more) Nico meme songs mashed into one crazy eleven minute dance mix.   What I recognized, in order: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «Black Rock Shooter (supercell ftw) A Gakupo song that I’ve heard, but don’t know the name of Sand Canyon from Kirby This one is Touhou-related and sounds REALLY familiar

Shameless Plug

No I have no shame.   Entry three! The Pocky compels you!   Also, got rid of the virus! It seems that, of all things, Windows Defender did it, but I'm reluctant to believe that for the obvious reason that it's, well, Windows.   But darnit, I'm still glad.
