A week or so ago I brought my car into the dealership for service and was sitting in the waiting area listening to some music when I realized someone was trying to talk to me and I couldn't even hear them. That reminded me how much I enjoy a good pair of noise-isolating earphones, which in turn reminded me how awesome it is to listen to music on quality equipment. Next month I'll be heading up to New York City for ToyFair. Because of the train schedules, I'll have quite a bit of time to kill on Friday, February 13th before ToyFair starts on Saturday. So Destiny comes out tonight and I am super excited. I won't be at a midnight release unfortunately, but I'll be picking up my Ghost edition after work tomorrow. I had the pleasure of going up to PAX East in Boston, Massachusetts from March 6th to 8th. As always, it was a blast and it was great to hang out with Than the Moa and Watashi Wa and meet a couple of WaWa's friends. Against all odds, and at the expense of some sleep last week, I finished both Contact Harvest and The Cole Protocol. Six books in three weeks! Halo Evolutions is up now though, and it's almost as long as both of those books combined, so I'm expecting it to take up this entire week. Contact Harvest is interesting among the Halo books as it's the first where there are no Spartans involved. They don't even get mentioned at all. I got back from BrickFair last night and still have not had a lot of time to recover. A huge thanks to everyone who attended, sent in MOCs, and supported our crowd-funding campaign (or all three!) - you guys helped make this the biggest and best BrickFair yet. It's already been nearly a week, but I'm finally getting around to making an entry about PAX East. In short, it was awesome. I took the train up last Thursday, from Maryland to Boston. It was my first time on Amtrak in a few years (since BrickFest 2006) and it was a pretty good experience. Longer than flying, but less of a hassle than dealing with airports or driving all the way up. It was about seven hours, and thanks to free Wi-Fi I was even able to be somewhat productive.
