More Shameless Advertising

Five. That's how many self MOCs I've built now. This is a pretty big hint for my epic, but nobody seems to have noticed it yet.   A link.   -Seran

The Rift Is Reformed

So it has. A new year (yes, I'm a little late) deserves a new layout. And thus a layout I have made. The little comments for each block thingy should help you find you way around the Rift. Hopefully we won't have quite so many people falling in as we did last year...   -Seran

Bbc Contests

I just thought I should post this, it's been annoying me for a while - people entering MOCs they've already built into a BBC contest.   I don't think people should do this, and Tufi Piyufi agrees with me. The point of the contest is to build a MOC for the theme, not enter some MOC you've had lying around for a while, that you might be able to fit in if you add a storyline to it.   Let's look at it another way - you enter a poetry contest. You have 20 minutes to write a poem, inspired by a list

City Of Dreams - Chapter 1

I've now posted Chapter 1 of my epic, City of Dreams, in case you can't tell from the title. And there's the first guest appearance - but who is it? You'll have to read it to find out.   Shameless advertising. You've got to love it.   -Seran

Building The Hype

A new month, a new year, a new BBC contest, a new order of pieces from Bricklink.   They're not actually for the contest, though - lets see if anyone can guess what they're for if I tell you the main colours: Lime Green Purple Orange  Yes, they're MOCs of the BBC staff. The lime is for Schiz, purple for Kex, and orange for Tufi and Shan. -Seran

A Request

Right, here's the plan. As a few of you know, I'm writing a BZP epic. And an epic about BZP needs the BZPers in it. Now, don't worry, I'll let a lot of you star in it, but first, I'd really appreciate it if you could all help me piece together a list of the Staff's traditional characters, and the traditional settings for the forums. For example, a lot of you are familiar with Empress Tufi of the BBC Empire, and Captain Schizo of the Comedy Islets. So if you could help me make a list of the other

A Holiday Surprise From Toa Axzaa

Aren't you all lucky? Toa Axzaa is writing another epic series, and here's an extract from it...     Yes, the new epic stars the Toa Xion. I was going to write it myself, but Axzaa asked really nicely, so I've come up with another epic instead (see the previous Blog entry).   -Seran

To The End Of The Journey Of Glittering Stars

I'll be most impressed if anyone knows what the titles refers to.   Anyways, I've finally done something I've been meaning to do for ages. I've now started writing my first BZP Epic, City of Dreams. It's based around the city of Hapori Metru, and will hopefully feature several BZPers. So, if you know me, expect a PM from me soon-ish.   If you can't get your novels published, an epic on BZP is the next best thing.   -Seran

Prettiful Picture Painted In Paintshop Pro Part 2

It had to happen. Characters in books can change considerably throughout the course of the book.     I tried making the shading more obvious this time; last time it was a bit too subtle. Enjoy.   Because I'm feeling nice, I'll give you some backstory. This guy is Daanikai, an elite swordsman. He's sent out on one particularly dangerous mission, accompanied by an experimental lifeform - a 'robot' powered by magic. Near the end of the book he gets his arm biten off, and the 'robot' manages to

Weeeee

As you might be able to guess from the title, I've finally got my Nintendo Wii. And it's amazing. The controller is so clever, and so natural. And the design of everything is so slick... I also got Wii Play, Twilight Princess, and an extra Wiimote. So let the party begin!   -Seran

Deck The Halls With Two Magnas

Some of you might remember my entry for BBC 36, Magna GX, which was crushed, not even passing the preliminary polls. I quite liked the design, so I made a couple more for this contest.   Click the image to see the full size entry pic. Or visit their exciting topic here.   The story of these guys is vaguely interesting, and goes like this:   A long time ago, I was wandering through Tufi's blog, and saw her comment about people continually making 'infernal humanoids' for BBCs. I realised that

Oh Dear

I've just realised that my entry for BBC 39 uses a banned piece - a green socket joint, with black rubber. You know, from Nidhiki and Umbra. Now I face a dilemma - I want to completely rebuild my entry into something else - but that'll go against my vow of not making another 'infernal humanoid'.   What's a MOCist to do?   -Seran

I'm Still Standing

*Watches tumbleweed roll past* Yes, I am still here. I've been extremely busy this last week, which is a pretty poor excuse for not updating, I know. But still, I'm back.   One of the many things I've been doing is sorting out my vast mountain of Bionicle/Technic parts. Into colours. This is about half of it:     As you can see, there's wonderful colours like pearl dark gold, pearl dark grey, copious amounts of white, an abundance of silver, a bit of yellorange, metallic blue, glitter transp

A Prettiful Picture Painted In Paintshop Pro

I did it! I CGified a pic in Paintshop Pro!     I can hardly believe it. I've been trying so many different programs to CG art, and now I've finally got the hang of it. The pic is the main character of my up and coming third novel, btw.   Enjoy,   Seran

Fantastic Thought-provoking Friday 3

Did anything exciting happen today? Well, we managed to evade getting homework in Media, and Art was vaguely amusing. I was helping in one of the lower year classes again, and one little boy called me 'sir'.   The highlight of my day.   -Seran

Toa Of Time

My new gold Vahi had to be used in a MOC, and what better MOC for it than a Toa of Time?   You've got to love cliches.   -Seran

I've Changed My Name

Just as a little test, I've changed my name. Now I shall be known as Seran, which is a lot easier to type than Seranikai. If it doesn't work I'll change it back, so I won't lose anything.   Seran

The True Meaning Of Lemons

Is it just me, or have you had the burning desire to find out the real meaning of Lemons?   To me they are a truly fascinating fruit. They are yellow, they have a soft fleshy innards and a hard outer, they have a sour taste but they get on so well with pancakes, they can be thrown at silly people and make a good sound when you say the word "lemon". It's pleasant to listen to and rolls off the tongue. Go on, Give it a try, say "lemon" a couple of times, it might brighten up your day.   The defi

Box Of Magic

Just as I predicted, my order of new Lego parts arrived today:     A lemon for anyone who can guess the exact number of parts in the box   And a muffin for anyone who can guess what kind of MOCs I'll be making with these (apart from you, Axzaa, you already know).   Seranikai

So Sleepy

'Twas my sister's halloween party last night, so I had to put up with several hours of 'playing' with my nephews and nieces. Or rather, giving them piggybacks, and trying to hide from them. We got home so late, I'm soooo sleepy, hence the name of this entry.   But I've still got about 500 million things to do - I go back to school/college tomorrow, and I haven't done my homework yet. Let that be a lesson to you, okies?   On a side note, I ordered 240 new Lego parts from Bricklink, which should

1500

I've now racked up 1500 posts, so I wanted to celebrate in style. I couldn't manage that, so I made these two MOCs instead. What are they? Click on the link. Go on, treat yourself.   But remember to come back here for the party. Yes, party. There's cake and muffins and stuff, probably. Hey, this is a rift in dimensions after all.   Seranikai

I Feel I Owe An Explanation...

'What's happened to the Iron Blog' I hear you cry. Well, I don't really, but I had to get your attention somehow. But anyway, I thought the Iron Blog was a bit boring, and being the Paranoid Perfectionist I am (am I?) I chose something slightly more aesthetically pleasing than a load of metal. Although metal is still great. You can use it to build buildings and bridges and bicycles and lots of other things beginning with 'b' and all the other letters of the alphabet as well. So there.   However
