Tanma

Lookie here, a real set review. With pictures too! Pictures, as in plural. Amazing, I can use a camera. And type. And look at plastic Lego figures...   Oh, yeah, the review.   (Titled too, just in case you didn't realize who I was talking about or who is doing this review)   First off, the journey to get Tanma. Today, I visited my third Lego store... the one in Washington. Yeah, the store's not actually in Seattle, but neither am I, and the bus system around here is good enough, as

I See Summer

Here are some of my first thoughts on the summer sets. Take 'em or leave 'em, and they're bound to change, but here they are.   Toa Nuva   Tahu: Well, he's not the old Nuva, or the old Mata, but he's not too bad. The build isn't terrible, and the worst part about it is simply that it's been seen before. The rotating blade looks really cool, and the mask, while not resembling any form of a Hau, isn't too bad. The rockets don't look too bad on him either... you know, red works with red. For

Choo Choo!

Home for the three day weekend. Got to ride on public transportation. Took a bus ride through Seattle... I did not know they had that tunnel underneath the whole city. I almost missed my stop because I was waiting for landmarks and you can't exactly see those under ground. When I got on the train, they forgot to give me my seat ticket, so I had to go and get back at the end of the line and wait it out again. (I got a ticket for a reserved seat, I just needed a second ticket for my assigned

Lego Bricks My Ego Bricks

I love making fun of the word filter without abusing it. And this one's caught me a couple of times in recent posts. Makes me wonder, if they made one for this, why haven't they made one for "Bionicles" when so many people go out of their mind complaining about it.   So, remember, I was the Nobody cares about me. I need attenton so I wanted to be annoying. about the cool dude who made a word filter for LEGO Bricks. Very annoying, as well as the filtered His Excellency (comes when you type in

Curse Of The Spell Checker

Well, I had this essay I wrote last week, and I had to reference a lot of quotations from the books we read in the class. I didn’t like the books (for the most part), I didn’t like the prompt for the essay, and I didn’t particularly like the essay either (or MLA styles). But when I got it back today, I was kind of surprised at the mistakes I made.   Whenever I reference the author “Metalious”, it came out “Metalloids”. Whenever I referenced “Nabokov”, it came out “Taboo”. I remember specifi

Fruitopia

Kiwiberry Rucas, or something similiar to that. Yum.   Okay, I dunno if any of you remember your soda brand history, but Fruitopia was this juice company of the late 1990s. They were apart of the Coca Cola company, but were phased out of the US in 2001 to be replaced by Minute Maid. (Although, according to their wikipedia page, they're still available in other countries like Canada and Australia). Based on most of the front page websites I found on this, people didn't like Fruitopia because

Current Music Craves

Just so I can post something, I'll list a few songs that I just haven't been able to get out of my head recently.   Story of My Life - Smash Mouth. It's humorous and has a good beat.   Accidentally in Love- Counting Crows. I'm not quite sure when / where this song is from, but I apparently bought it off a Shriek II soundtrack. Anyway, another upbeat song that just lodged itself in my head. Coincidentally, it seems to remind me of some of my better romance passages in my stories of the pa

Wait, I Did This Last Week...

I stayed up really late last week.   It was all about getting an essay rough draft completed on time. Irony: rough draft wasn't due until Tuesday... this got announced on Monday. Figures.   Tis Monday again... Monday morning, whatnot, but I digress (I do that often, don't I?) I'm up again. Irony is, this time I have to complete a final draft that is due in a couple of hours, so I can't throw in some half-thought out junk and get away with it. So far, with this essay, I have come to hate M

Super What?

Who's even playing?   I know / care this much about the Super Bowl this year.   1) The Denver Broncos aren't playing. 2) Neither are the Seattle Seahawks. Who to root for? 3) Commercials deserve to be muted, no matter what. 4) Tom Petty is playing halftime, so that I must see. 5) I have an English paper due tomorrow that I was suppose to work on yesterday. So I don't have a full day to blow on a game. 6) If I do want to watch, I know a place with a big screen TV.

Restriction On Friends...

From Lego Network...   I have been getting friend cancellations a lot lately. At first, I thought it was lame and rude. Sure, why are you dropping me as a friend? Am I just not good enough for you? Do you not like the clicks I give your modules? Is my rank just too low for your preferences? Despite the little encouraging message sent to you every time a friend drops you, I get a little irked by the whole thing.   Then the Network blocked me from getting more friends.   Ooooh... there's

I Don't Think Of It As A Late Night...

I am just getting up really, really early.   Okay, the facts. English class: 9:30 AM Monday morning. Due: a rough draft of an essay. Completed: Nothing so far. Time: 4:30 AM on a Monday morning / extended Sunday night. Estimated hours of sleep for tonight: 0.   I have a feeling I overloaded myself this quarter. Two highly intensive math classes (Calculus and Physics) and a writing intensive English class on boring subjects (I already took the sci-fi class, but American 50s isn't my favor

It's Due

Yesterday, Tuesday, I had one essay due, plus an evening physics lab. Today (technically), Wednesday, I have math homework and physics homework. Tomorrow, Thursday, I have online physics homework and another essay due Friday, I have a physics midterm.   Where'd all this work come from? My first quarter wasn't nearly this bad, even though I despised Chemistry. Not to mention, on top of all this homework, I have classes to attend. Uhg, college was supposed to be less difficult than the thre

Best Slogan Ever

I was looking at buying a small thing of milk for dinner and the such. You now, calcium, good stuff... and it has to be chocolate. Anyway, I digress. I looked at one of the brands, and it had this slogan.   Shake Well. Buy More.   It was skim milk, so I didn't get it, but that had me laughing for quite some time.

Stickers Galore

Just because it happened, I had to take a screen shot as proof and a lasting memory of happiness.     Yes, I, Lego Online Club Member xccj01, did make it to the top ten sticker modules on MyLego.com. It is a grand honor to receive this recognition.   By the time I refreshed the page after having taken a screen shot, I was booted off and replaced by some dude who squeezed in a bunch of large, blurry stickers into one slot.   Yeah, I'm not quite sure what determines how you get on that page,

Many Levels Of Orange

In my recent Pohatu Phantoka Nuva review, ChocolateFrogs asked a question concerning the shade of orange used. Well, I tried to PM him the question, but I'm not sure if it made it through. So I recently took a photo, and since I've uploaded it already, why not just make a blog out of it? Any complaints? No? *Can't Hear You* Okay, here we go.     Here are some pieces I happen to have in the various shades or orange / yellow.   First, we have classic yellow, used on the Throwbot Jet, McT

Olmak!

I finally lose that absurd Rahaga head that's been hovering underneath my name for a year to be replaced by a golden Olmak. (Or I will, as soon as it updates.) I have reached my five year anniversary on BZP. It's been real, it's been fun, but nothing seems really special today? Hmm. Anyway, while the spinning Olmak may not be nearly as cool as previous spinnign Vahis and Avohkiis, but it beats that Rahaga head. Reminds me of a Rahkshi head... and associations with Makuta of Metru-Nui. Or

Tough As Stone

Not me tonight. Uhg, my Wednesdays are so long... three lecture classes and a quiz section. Some of them are on the opposite end of the campus... which isn't that bad when it's not cold. The weather has taken a dip these last few days. Yeah, it's been nice and clear, but cold. And worst, the snow froze! We got a light covering of snow the other day, about enough to make the untrodden ground white. But when the air cleared and the temperature dropped... the wet snow turned to clumpy ice

Lego's Moc Gallery Works!

Randomly, I decided to upload one of my creations to my second account on Lego.com... just for something cool to put on my MyLego page because I have nothing better up. Unfortunately, all my current good picts have my username stapled onto them... and that wasn't the username I put it under. I was thinking to myself that it might be funny... people would think my creations were worth something to be ripped off! Yet, as luck would have it, the image never got approved... it broke Lego rules?

The Mouse Is Dead!

I found that the homework I've been putting off is rather difficult. Worst, so is navigating on my computer without a mouse.   You see, I have a nice laptop, and to go along with it, I bought a cheap wireless mouse because I hate the touch pads (almost as much as I hate laptop keyboards) Well, my wired keyboard addition is great for typing and everything, and hooks directly to the computer, so no need for a battery. But the mouse is a different story. Earlier today, as I was starting to loo

The Sun Rises?

Who knew?   I am on the second day of a very, very bad habit I am falling into. Yesterday, I took an afternoon nap, and was up in the evening. Way past Midnight, I decided to go to bed, but couldn't sleep for various reason. So I bagged the whole idea and did some stuff on the computer. I stayed up pretty late... and the next thing I knew the sun was rising. So I went to the cafeteria just when it opened and got some relly good breakfast.   Then I went back to my room, and crashed. Just Some Random Updates...

I don't have anything big to blog about in particular, but I have some things that might interest you. So here goes...   Story: Well, in the review topic, I said that real life might get in the way of updates, but I never expected it to hit me so hard and so fast. A few days after I posted the first real chapter of my new epic, I got horribly sick, and I've been on the downside of it ever since. Thus, about three weeks of being sick, which only got worst when I went back to school. With all

My Lego... And I'm Keeping It.

Well, the new version of My Lego is up, so I can start collecting again. This time, I will take precautions not to invite some friends over to my side of the board, 'cause so many of them just dropped me in the last version. If they want to be my friends, fine, but ask. Even in this new version, people are pig-headed enough to reject a request for a friend. This isn't like other social networks where somebody may find out who you are and begin to stalk you based on what you have in your acco

Shoot 'em Up!

Really, no good news. I'm doing this mostly for the sake of posting a new picture. It was the first day of winter classes, and I was bored, sleepy, and sick. Sick enough that I'm probably good enough to get out of taking a test... not that I'll have an option like that. Unfortunatly, my earliest class is also my smallest, so they take roll call. Bah.   Set wise, I have been looking at the Makutas and their respective Matoran. Mutron and Vican (that's the combination, correct? I'm pulling

Don't Bug Me

Gah, I'm back in the dorms, and I have certainly been better. For starters, I'm not quite healthy yet... but that'll have to wait until after classes this week. Secondly, my room appeared to be infested with this little flies. How did they get there? I took alot of time to clean up my dorm room before I left, cleaning up all my food and dusting everything and even vacuuming... and I don't have Lehvak Kal's natural powers either! But the room is just crawling with these small flying insect

Helicopter Action (indoors!)

Curses… I skipped posting a blog yesterday, as I’m getting this one up at 1 AM. So much for my New Year streak of blogs…   Well, I just got back from Christmas Mock 2… we got together with some other relatives to exchange gifts. I got a lot of candy and other food like items, which will be good for stocking up my dorm when I get back. The coolest thing I got was this indoor helicopter, which had a motor for the blades and rudder and everything. It works best in houses with big ceilings, lik
