Alright folks, I'll be very honest. I have no deep desire to do an april fools' prank this year for BS01.
So yeah, let's hope BZPower entertains everyone for us. I'm sorry, but I'm not exactly in the mood this year.
But it could easily have been. Click for larger detail Taken with -my- phone. Fortunately both phones are insured, and it'd cost me no more than say 100 bucks to replace, and Sprint's cool in that we can add it to our next bill and maybe even set up a payment plan on the bills. So we can handle the blow, but it's gonna take time. Now then, if you'll excuse me, I'll be going to work.
Let's see...
$110 phone with Sprint
$39 MP3 player
Left 4 Dead 2 for $30
and my biggest scores?
XBox 360 Jasper model with a 150 GB hard drive and new controller: $75
Also, Batman Arkham Asylum for $20 (Brand new copy) and LEGO Batman and Pure (pre-owned twin pack) for $10.
And maybe Halo 3 or ODST tomorrow, pre-owned. Still deciding which. Oh, and I pre-ordered CoD: Black Ops and Portal 2 for 5 bucks each.
And that's just stuff for ME, wow.
Man, I am really looking forward to the theme launch. I'm a huge fan of the novels, and I think it'll be amazing to collect the minifigs. First one to a complete set of Fellowship (assuming they don't just release them all in one set) wins nothing at all but are still cool by me!
Basically, it's a ToP. It's for the Minecraft scene my studio's been building that will be at Emerald City ComiCon. And I had to fight an uphill battle just to even get this built. Seriously, nobody else knew about it except me. I'm just not regretting it at all. Also to answer a question that will be asked, we got a lot of that gold brick from both the 50th anniversary tubs and the 2x2 came in those golden ornament packs.
Okay, I must personally apologize to all MakutaFest people who attended during that question. When writing them, we did research pretty deeply on BS01 directly, and I remembered the Taku but mistakened it for the same role as the Kewa, which is much larger and indeed the one we wanted instead. One of our biggest errors was in how BS01 worded it: "When the Great Cataclysm brought about the creation of the island of Mata Nui, many Kewa migrated there and established themselves in Le-Wahi. In the
I seem to have awoken my British bloodline (one of the many bloodlines I have) and I now have a posh accent. x_x But on the plus side? I'm about halfway through the storyline (I hope). I'm trying to stretch it out over a few days for once. Still epic.
.... Me. So yeah, picked up this gem at the studio, it was part of a glued TRU/Target/Walmart/WHERVER DAN PICKED IT UP display. Fortunately for me, they only use hot glue. It only occurred to me when I was on the phone with Electric Turahk that I had picked up what is essentially Lhikan's Hau. ... Whoops. Anyway, planning to make it a Lego-pure wearable mask. I have ideas in mind, including the rubber axle connector trick, or using the treads option (we have plenty in the studio). I've g
So let's briefly break down my sleep schedule from the past few weeks... Every day prior to last night: 1-2AM sleep. This is in between working on BS01/HS01, moving the files from one server to the new, cancelling the prior one, getting the new one tricked out, and then moving on to webcomics and/or internet videos of the funny kind (no ponies >: O) and generic sit down and talk to friends online. Last night was different. I was asleep at 9 PM. No webcomics, no funny videos, no friends. I
Sooo... ain't gonna lie, if you planned to enter the photo contest right now, your odds of winning General Grievous are looking pretty good right now. Like, very good. This is a reminder that The Caption and Meme contests will be ending tomorrow night, December 2nd, at 11:59 PM PST. To enter, you simply have to email us an original meme based on Star Wars, or caption the photo below, to biosector01@outlook.com with the name of the contest you're entering in the subject line. We'll also ha
About 2 weeks ago, my boss' son came to the studio with about 3 bins in hand. Each one filled to the top with Bionicle. "What's that," I asked. "I'm selling my Bionicle to my dad," he replies. "I'll give you first dibs, though." He knows me too well. So I sift through the first bin, and I notice a pattern. There's -plenty- of Kanohi in here. We're talking A LOT. It was in this moment I elected to go ahead and buy all the Kanohi from him. Literally every one I could find. So I did. And
Now when I say "For a more pure Floyd listening," nothing can obviously replace just listening to the albums. I recommend that for anyone, of course. But if you just want a good sampling of Floyd songs? Cholie and I came up with two good playlist options, and what albums to find them all from. For our Album selections: Astronomy Domine (From Piper at the Gates of Dawn) See Emily Play (a Single released by Floyd, it's findable on multiple Best Of CDs, and probably elsewhere) Set the Con
Seriously, given the arguments I'm hearing today, it seems the 13th doctor should be a 10 year old redheaded girl. That covers -everything- the people wanted in the Doctor right there.
Two days ago, I put in the longest work day I've had to put in since I started working for The TbP Group (Dan Parker's company encompassing his commission work, his educational camps and events), namely 16 hours in one huge shift. This blog entry is about that. What did we do during this lengthy 16 hours, one may wonder? During the 10:30 to 1:00 pm hours, not much. It's when we hit 2:30 up in Seattle, WA that the fun really began. The event we were at was held at CenturyLink Field, home of
So I have everything set up LEGO-wise for BCascade. I have a grand total of 10 boxes to take: 5 for the main island 1 for the baseplate that goes around it (I have to double-check them) 1 for the volcano crater top (IT LOOKS MUCH BETTER, TRUST ME) 1 for the Superhero Megafigs (Green Lantern and Captain America) 1 for the Bionicle pens and random brick I'm bringing. 1 for the Nuva Cube (Of course I'm bringing that :3) Basically that's 10 boxes. Plenty of boxes XD I'm thinking I'll set up the
Okay, I figure a bit of a BIONICLE theme this time.
Based on observations, there might be repeats, but of different sets. Here we go. Also, they have specific reasons for why I like them, so I will note with a symbol behind each one. Chart for explaination at bottom of list. EDIT: NEW LIST BELOW.

Since it worked so well last time, I decided to do it this time.
Again, THIS LIST IS OPEN FOR DEBATE. Please do complain that I didn't add rappers. I dare ya Also again, this is based on my experience, not on any "facts." Also, these are all Rock only, if I start using more out of that genre, the list is harder, and the Honorable Mentions is longer.

#9: Guns N' Roses
#8: Sublime
#7: Foo Fighters
#6: Beatles
#5: Beach Boys

Okay, it's not a giant list of albums as impressive as Dav's (Kyn Ace) or Makaru's (Makaru), but it's my favorites.
These are listed from my personal experience and is open for debate. As usual, all Top 10 lists are open to debate, except for mine 8D (sarcasm, of course). I might make this a feature for the rest of the week, and bring it over to BS01 in my blog there, it depends on feedback.
#10: Pink Floyd's Animals
#9: Metallica's Black Album (Metallica)
#8: The Rocky Horror Picture Sh
