Okay, I don't know why, but I am still feeling immensely insecure about university. The system's just so much different from anything else I've ever known before... still not sure whether I like it or not.

The other students are nice, though. No name calling, and I even met people with similar interests (something you rarely find at school)

... life update yay

:kaukau: Yeah...The atmosphere is considerably of a lower quality than in my high school. There's a lot more stealing, a fair number of rude people, and a large portion of the population who is hostile to people who believe in standards. The place where I grew up, everyone was pretty trustworthy and far more polite, and most significantly I'm kind of glad that I grew up in a population where everyone was held morally accountable.

Well, I guess that's stereotyping somewhat, but there is a legitimate change in culture between a small town and a population center.

That's what surprised me the most about college this year. Everyone seems... not crazy-mean.

The whole thing is odder when you're immersed in it. As a sometime spectator to the system who hardly interacts/interacted with the student body and has met no one with similar interests due to not talking with people, it's a rather... pale (? I can't think of the right word) experience.

I don't think what I just wrote was helpful at all, but my experience is somewhat different from a normal college-goer. :P

Hm. Weird, for me it's pretty much the other way round. But I guess this too differs from place to place.

And of course, there's always a chance for things turning worse... :shrugs:

Yup. I'm still wondering why, though

Yup, it's definitely a different world.

Yep *pokes*

I can imagine that. But, as I pointed out already a few days ago, I am someone who needs regular contact with others to feel well. In school I had to more or less work by myself (because the other students were... um... different. Although they probably thought the same about me, too =P)

It has a good side and a bad side, I guess.

Finding someone who can explain things to me when I don't understand them, for example. Or knowing who I can ask for their notes in case I miss out on some lectures due to illness.

And of course, someone to joke around with. Otherwise, I'm a really sad jester :P

A disadvantage is that I feel horrible when feeling lonely. And by horrible, I mean the-world-is-awful-life-is-awful-I-can't-won't-do-anything-why-do-I-even-exist horrible. ><
