Out of the end of Versailles, came the beginnings of both Phoenix and Daft Punk.

The same creative influences and desires that influenced them in Versailles still influences their separate bands, and keeps their musical worlds spinning.

We've come too far/to give up who we are

In spite of becoming the gigantic megahit that Daft Punk is, they still maintain their connection to their roots and who they were before becoming techno music robots, as evidenced by performing along with Phoenix on occasion.

I'd go further, but I'm tired.

An at-first lighthearted song about clubbing is in-fact about the history of Daft Punk. Either that, or I'm overtired since it's 3 AM and I'm overthinking this. Probably the latter. The fact that all I've had to eat today has been two slices of pizza and a fortune cookie probably doesn't help either.
