I've missed out on making profiles for quite a few characters since the games were announced at E3 last year; so, in the vein of my recent "summer catchup" post, here is another large Smash File detailing four more fighters that I missed along the way, starting with the ones announced during the Smash Bros. Direct.
Charizard Profile
Species: Charizard
Series: Pokemon
First Appearance: Pokemon Red and Blue (Gameboy, 1998)
Favourite Appearance: Pokemon Emerald (GBA, 2005)
Party: 1st
Known For: Being awesome, breathing fire, not being a dragon type, having two mega evolutions, being popular, disobeying Ash because Ash sucks
Excitement Factor: 5/10 - Honestly, kind of meh. I think it's cool that Charizard is in the game, and I get that having Squirtle with Greninja could be seen as an over saturation of water type Pokemon, but... I still liked using Squirtle more than Charizard.
OH GAWD
Zero Suit Samus Profile
Species: Human
Series: Metroid
First Appearance: Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA, 2004)
Favourite Appearance: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii, 2008)
Party: 1st
Known For: Being another version of Samus in Super Smash Bros. 4, lacking armor, apparently wearing high heels, wearing a skin-tight suit
Excitement Factor: 3/10 - I dislike that Zero Suit Samus is an individual character in this game; mostly because it means we have two versions of Samus on the roster (in addition to two versions of Link), and that means this is a precedent... I do not want to see Dr. Mario being added back into the game. I'm sure there is another video game character out there that could have the exact same play style as Zero Suit Samus instead.
I believe I can fly....
Shiek Profile
Species: ???
Series: The Legend of Zelda
First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64, 1998)
Favourite Appearance: Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN, 2001)
Party: 1st
Known For: Being mysterious, being Zelda, maybe not being Zelda?, being not-actually-male, being female, being a ninja
Excitement Factor: 7/10 - I consider Shiek to be more excusable than Zero Suit Samus on the basis that Shiek could honestly be anyone; and that means I can pretend that Shiek is some random character from the Zelda universe, and not Zelda herself. Whatever.
Just keep sneaking....
Yoshi Profile
Species: Yoshi
Series: Super Mario, Yoshi
First Appearance: Super Mario World (SNES, 1991)
Favourite Appearance: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GCN, 2004)
Party: 1st
Known For: Being a dinosaur, getting trapped in eggs, turning people into eggs, being the best party member in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Excitement Factor: 8/10 - Yoshi! Yoshi is one of those characters that I always like to take for a spin every now and then to change things up in between rounds of demolishing my opponents as Young Link or Toon Link. Also, he's a member of the Original Twelve, so he has to be here.
