Well whaddaya know

So I was walking around my friendly neighbourhood Lego store, and guess what I found in a dark corner, hidden away.

Kanoka disc packs.

It was like a wave of nostalgia hit me, and I almost bought one but then I was like what's the point. I'll just tell people on BZP. :P It's funny how a 10+ year old collectible is still available in stores, and I can't find this year's Technic bike thing model...

Edit: Here's a pic.

I found an ad for Lego.com in Boscov's the other day that looked like it came from the early 2000's. It featured several old Lego sets, including some trucks, a dinosaur and... Pohatu Mata.

how does this i dont even

That was 2004. If memory serves there weren't even any LEGO stores at all back then. Just seasonal kiosks in some places. How does a LEGO product from before a store existed end up in the store's inventory, never mind the question of how the sets survived to be on the shelf today?

This is in Prague, though not the US, so maybe things are different. It's also a museum so maybe they had a bunch of extra stuff? :shrugs:

I doubt that was an official LEGO retailer store.

Anyway, that's a pretty cool find. Sounds like pretty much every one of my dreams lately involving BIONICLE sets somehow, though usually it's the Bohrok that the store has. :P

Dude, there were LEGO stores way before then. We've had one here at the Mall of America for as long as I can even remember. I once bought a six-pack of Bohrok for $20 there.

Yeah, on second thought, I'm not sure what I was thinking - the Mall of America one was established in the late 90s, if I remember correctly.

Was it the only one in the store? If not why didn't you buy more? cats
