EDIT: It is evening time now, and the US Best Buy website is now selling this console. But not the Canadian site, nope. That would make too much SENSE

Take a look at that beautiful, beautiful thing. I was going to get The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D already, but daaaaang.

 

I mean if we take a look back to the good ol' days of 2013, I specifically bought my 3DS XL because of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (which was the Zelda title that I had wanted Nintendo to make for years) and the special edition console that it was bundled with. While I had not planned on buying the New 3DS XL for awhile, this thing is too beautiful to pass up... plus, it'll match my 3DS XL and that's also too good to pass up.

 

This makes up for the fact that I will not get a Skull Kid figure.

 

Assuming, of course, that I actually manage to get my hands on this console.

Okay so it appears that in North America, the game is not, in fact, bundled with this console...

 

Suddenly I'm far less hyped.

So... it's already sold out at ebgames, which seems to be the only place that it was made available so far. I swear to god Nintendo if this thing is a Gamestop exclusive I'm done I hate it

That's really cool. But I'm still getting the regular one for the switchable faceplates. And then hoping they bother to release Metroid themed faceplates for it.

 

Or a Metroid Theme.

 

Or something Metroid for the 3DS.

I need a new 3DS, and the New 3DS XL is nice. especially mm.

 

They've got the Monster Hunter 4 special N3DSXL coming to North America too

That's really cool. But I'm still getting the regular one for the switchable faceplates. And then hoping they bother to release Metroid themed faceplates for it.

 

Or a Metroid Theme.

 

Or something Metroid for the 3DS.

 

The regular New 3DS does not appear to be launching in North America at all right now; just the XL version.

Yeah. I just saw that. I guess I'll be holding off on an upgrade for the time being. My 3DS still works fine, so no big deal.

 

Though I hope I can at some point get one, I like the smaller version as I can at least pretend it fits in my pocket, there's no way I'm stuffing an XL in my jean pockets.

Everything except that fact that Nintendo is worse at naming things than a nonverbal three year old.

It has a 2x better processor, more RAM(forget how much, but it was discovered via one of the updates), a better 3D angle because it actually tracks your face, redesigned shell(again), uses Micro SD instead of normal SD, has a C-Stick(which emulates the Circle Pad pro), and is required for some enhancements.

 

It's like the DSi, except named worse. It also is pretty much just an enhanced revision, so it's still got the same video chip, and games are still focused on the plain 3DS, though there are some exclusive games like the N3DS port of Xenoblade Chronicles.

 

It also is only available in the XL here, which is stupid. >_>
