Binky In Florida
Ah, vacation time. Writing from my hotel room in Disney World. The sun is hot although the sky is steel gray from hundreds of wildfires pouring smoke into the atmosphere. Spent yesterday at the pool; later today is Epcot (again) for Mother's Day Brunch.
Actually made myself ride Everest at Animal Kingdom, and even with two Dramamine I spent the next several hours looking green around the gills. The rest of the family loved it; I'm a wuss when it comes to rides like that. More my speed is "Spaceship Earth" - a journey through communication along the ages... at a blazing 1.5 MPH. Woot!
Also hit Downtown Disney and the LEGO store there, they've got some excellent pieces which I'll need to snap up. My hotel is a five-minute ferry ride from Downtown Disney so it's oh-so-tempting to just sneak down there...
My formerly parchment-white skin (now mottled red) is slathered with aloe vera right now, since even SPF 36 (Bullfrog) didn't protect me from yesterday's lounging in the pool. At times like this, my Irish heritage is more hindrance than benefit.
A few more days of Breakfast In Paradise, then it's Back Home To Drudgery, a boring job, and other mind-numbing tasks, where I can count the days (about 730) until the next big family vacation.
