COIN, COIN!

When I was younger I liked collecting coins enough that I ended up with my father's coin collection (which he got from his father) and is the work of three generations of his side of the family.  Technically four since I've made some small contributions over the years.

Yeah, I'm not really into things like this anymore, but it sounds like you have a very impressive collection on your hands.

 My coin collection started with my mother's father. He served in WW2, so he got around and was able to pick up a TON of different coins. I've been updating and adding to it slowly. It's been great.

 See the thing about determining the value of the coins, doesn't mean you'll find somebody that wants to pay that much for them. So you could steal them, but unless you know a buyer that wants to dish out that much cash for bits of metal, it's essentially worthless.
