I am unaware of the nessesity for this, but I guess I haven't been victimized yet, so I should be glad to be ignorant at this point...

So, unknowing about the current situation, I will follow your advice anyway.

And how exactly do I set my blog to where I have to approve comments manually? Can't figure it out...

Yes actually.

My blog was spammed with ghastly images, and Necro's profile was spammed numerous times (I believe he said 40+ pages).

If you really want that done in your blog/profile, be my guest. I for one would like to not have them in public.
