The mouth at least slightly resembles the Kaukau Nuva in shape... of course, I still feel the 2008 Matoran masks would have been ideal, with Solek's as the Hau Nuva, Tanma's as the Kaukau Nuva, and Photok's as the Pakari Nuva. It worked so well in my drawings... *sniff*

With luck when I actually am able to hold the masks I will find ample similarities to the originals.

Umm... they look exactly the same, except for lighting .

I think that that's the only difference.

Just goes to show you that decent cinematography can make all the difference.

Personally, I still don't like it's shape that much, but it looks better at that angle than it did in the Toyfair pics. I still prefer her older masks as opposed to her newer one, though. And I can sorta see the resemblances to the original, just that it isn't in a configuration that makes it look as awesome.

Just curious though; the ones at Toyfair were basically "beta" models, not the final releases, right?

Lol that some of you noticed similarities even I missed. I'll take that back about "no" similarities, then, and add the word "almost" to it. I haven't really put the two images side by side yet, so that was too hasty a judgement to make there. Mainly cuz not the point of this entry, but yeah.

Edit: As to it being the same as Toyfair, no, look more closely. The texture is smooth now, where it was rough and rubbery before, and the edges aren't rounded like with that one. Also, the hexagon eye area has a border it didn't have previously, and the toyfair one was wider on top, this is wider on bottom. The differences are subtle, yes, but they're there.

But yes, this is also a better pose too.

Well it looks slightly better then the toyfair one but still... Hey what do you guys think of a "Design a New Mask for Gali" Art Competition? IMO it would be a great idea where we could post our own favourite mask designs.

She's still got the biggest shoulders I've ever seen.

She's got the same body style as Hahli Mahri and I don't remember anyone complaining about her shoulders.

The only thing I thought is that the toyfair prototype looked like it had mata-blue arms instead of metru-blue, but yeah, could have been the lightning. As for the mask, I think the visor is too low, and I still don't like the wings. They should have made them atleast blue or so..

hmmm. i saw somewhere on b-shelf saying if tanma's mask was blue it would be perfact for her. its pritty much the same but the toy fair one is made of foam (like the inika) the new one its plastic. i hope they do some major changes to this, im rather dissapointed by it

This is actually a very good mask. Remember that the mistika are all based on insects. Gali's mask is reminiscent of some sort of moth, and I think this represents Gali very well. It still looks a little like the Kaukau IMO, probably more like the original than the nuva. I'm dissapointed though that Gali is now metru blue.
