I got back from the thingy last night, but on account of being one of the living dead, I didn't venture into the world of the interwebs.
*sleepy yawn*
NEED TO WATCH LOTR MOAR.
The camp was funky. Thankfully, we went with my cousin and his wife and baybeh, and they were leading worships, so we got deluxe accomodations: IE, we (sis and me) shared their private 'cottage', which was rather nicer than basic quarters.
I found out when we got there it was Hillbilly themed, which kinda freaked me out. The games were really gross... Candy Man, (kids taking staff DOWN and stealing they're candies, while other staff rushed to the rescue and slapped the small childrens away with dead fish. Yes. Real dead fish. [What made it even grosser was the fish had already been used in a capture the flag type game, but instead of flags there were fish, so many of them had already been ripped and were... gushing.] the sweet deal was I got to sing the Gollum Fish Song. That was cool. Woah, long parenthesis...) Cardboard Wars, (kids making armor out of cardboard and throwing things like water balloons, shaving cream, oatmeal and flour at each other. That was messy.) and... no, I won't say. Too nasty.
I'm not sure what that had to do with hillbillies, but it was gross. That was enough.
So the first while I just kind of milled around, because I'm older than the kids, (all junior high) but I'm not really involved in the church, so staff didn't seems fitting. In the end I was put in the staff, and I thank the Lord (literally) for that, as they had less of a chance of being beaten by fish and getting gross in general.
So then...

I'm not going to go into long details, but I sat with some kids that found my Smeagol voice very entertaining. It's a bit rusty though, so I felt like I was just looking stupid. They said it was awesome though, so whatever.
The one thing that bugged both me and my sister was the "meetings." The obligatory time when they basically said, "We don't want to do this, but we have to because we're a youth group, so we, sadly, have to take a break and praise God. THEN MOAR GAMES YAYZORZ."
That was weird.
So anyway, since we went home early, (the actual thing is just ending now) we were only there for one such meeting. However, it's subject was not impressive. He just found some pics on the interwebs ofJesus Yashua and mocked them, saying they "weren't the real Jesus." Which, in the literal sense, was true, however, he wasn't realizing the symbolism in many of them. He would look at a picture of Jesus glowing and say that wasn't how he really was, and of course that's true, but the painter was being symbolic.
Anyway, I think I'm straying dangerously far into the "religion" thing now, so I'll stop. Suffices to say that I didn't like they're style, and from what I hear, it's always like that.
