What's On Your Ipod?

Binkmeister

This is always fun when you want to post something but don't have time or mental energy to come up with something wittily sparkling (as that sentence proves). So on a Friday afternoon, watching the clock hands crawl through molasses to 3:45 when I can bail out of work, here's what I like to call:

What's on YOUR iPod? (Or [insert generic mp3 player brand])

I'm a bit... how you say... eclectic in my music listening choices, as you may tell from my list.

  • T'Pau: Heart & Soul
  • Sara McLachlan: Possession (live)
  • Andy Summers: 2010 Theme
  • Al Stewart: On the Border
  • Alan Parsons Project: Mammagamma
  • Alannah Myles: Black Velvet
  • Sonny Rhodes: Firefly Main Theme
  • Babylon 5 (season 5) Main Theme
  • Duncan Sheik: Barely Breathing
  • Ashanti: Kansas
  • Beni Arashiro: Here Alone
  • Goo Goo Dolls: Better Days
  • Sting: Brand New Day
  • Britney Spears: One More Time
  • Christy Carlson Romano: Could It Be
  • Chess: One Night In Bangkok
  • Santana & Rob Thomas: Smooth
  • Eric Clapton: Circus
  • Clannad: Coinleach Glas An Fhomair
  • Basia: Clear Horizon
  • Dido: Sand In My Shoes
  • Hilary Duff: Why Not
  • Dr. Hook: Sexy Eyes
  • George Thoroughgood: Johnny B Good
  • Gwen Stefani: Hollaback Girl
  • Indigo Girls: Galileo
  • The Corrs: Breathless
  • John Mayer: Why Georgia
  • Kate Bush: Hounds of Love
  • Christina Milian: Kim Possible Theme
  • Lindsay Lohan: Rumors
  • Liz Phair: Why Can't I
  • Natalie Imbruglia: Torn
  • Pat McGee Band: Beautiful Ways
  • Paula Abdul: Straight Up
  • Sarah McLachlan: World On Fire
  • Sting: Russians
  • Stevie Ray Vaughn: Life by the Drop

At least one song above (and probably more) is sure to send you rolling your eyes, regardless of your own music choices. Go ahead, I won't look. :wakeup2: Done now? No? OK, one more eye-roll then... All better now.

* Binky goes back to bopping to his tunez, while the Kim Possible theme segues into a George Thoroughgood ditty... *

Short version: Entirely too much Elvis Costello. Full version betrays my inability to mock your playlist.

Full version: What can I say? The only CDs around here I've been able to find since I got the thing have mostly been his. :P There's still more I need to track down, but cripes... mom's definitely had too much influence in my musical tastes. One might say I was kinda raised on punk and such things. Better than Neil Diamond, though. I suppose I'm rather grateful for that.

Elvis Costello:

(What's So Funny) 'Bout Peace, Love and Understanding

Oliver's Army

Pump it Up

Radio, Radio

Spooky Girlfriend

Tear Off Your Own Head (It's A Doll Revolution)

When I Was Cruel No. 2 (listening right now, right now)

Tart

Alibi

High Fidelity

The Beatles:

Eleanor Rigby

All You Need is Love

Hello, Goodbye

Hey Jude

Get Back

The Ballad of John and Yoko

Let it Be

ABBA (the peanut gallery can be der shushen on this one, thankie very much)

S.O.S.

Waterloo

Gimme! Gimme! Gimm! (A Man After Midnight)

Voulez Vous (oh here it comes on now)

Queen:

I'm Going Slightly Mad

The Show Must Go On

Other People:

Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

I Don't Like Mondays

Holiday

Aaaand that's about it. As per sa demande administrative. A group-by-group breakdown, too. To emphasize both of the short version's messages.

Bink, your iPod music list is way too much like the mucis list my sister would have... o_O

Anyway...

Random songs from my MP3 player that don't come anywhere near being a full list...

Alice Cooper- Welcome to my Nightmare, Detroit City

Pink Floyd- All parts of Another Brick in the Wall, nearly the full Dark Side of the Moon album, Wish You Were Here

Queen- Killer Queen, We Are the Champions, We Will Rock You, Another One Bites the Dust

Ozzy Osbourne- Crazy Train, Bark at the Moon

Aerosmith- Dream On, Dude (Looks like a Lady), Livin' on the Edge

Cheap Trick- Surrender

Deep Purple- Smoke on the Water, Hush

Guns n' Roses- Welcome to the Junger

U2- Sunday Bloody Sunday, Vertigo

Just a bit of sampling of my songs. I have more, and I really should put some Beatles on there...

Yeah right. :P

You people and your portable players... the only way my player would be portable is if I lugged my computer around. But then again, I've done fine without one. :D

You make me feel OLD, and I'm not qualified to feel old XD.

Man, I'll just stick with CD players for life XD.

until of course, people stop making CD players, and start making high end MP3 players cost the same as CD players.

Pfft. As if THAT will ever happen, but hey, I can dream.

I just got an mp3 player, but I havn't found anything to download music w/, except for from my cds and "hero" on Bionicle.com. My cds include Hilary Duff and Kelly Clarkson... I'm also interested in my mom's collection, which includes a lot of Andrea Bochelli and Sarah Brightman, a Celtic Woman album, and the she-got-it-out-of-curiosity album of Josh Groban.

good music variety there

of my favorites:

John Mayer

GooGoo Dolls

And the best of all:

PAT MCGEE BAND!!!

Pat McGee actually went to my high school and comes back for personal concerts for just the 1500 of us.

Well, I guess your music keeps you pumping. Especially if you have to watch your clock 'til you can leave. Sounds like you'd rather be building with the bricks in your office, but would probably get in trouble.

Stick to it

Wow... I never knew there could be so many people who didn't like iPods. I didn't get mine because it was the fashion, but because it was a convenient way to carry music around without the heaps of CDs. I got offered one as a birthday present roughly a year ago

Anyways, my list of iPod music would be far too long to list every song, so here are the CDs:

The Celts >> Enya

Watermark >> Enya

Shephard Moons >> Enya

The Memory of Trees >> Enya

Paint the Sky with Stars >> Enya

Amarantine >> Enya

Adiemus II >> Karl Jenkins

The Fellowship of the Ring >> Howard Shore

The Two Towers >> Howard Shore

The Return of the King >> Howard Shore

American cool dude >> Green Day

SOE Official Podcast >> SOE

Would put on Treespeak on the Air but it wasn't in MP3 format so I couldn't. Which sucked.
