Indiana Jones And The... Did They Seriously Just Go There?

I've seen two movies over the last 7 days. Iron Man and now Indiana Jones.

Go see Iron Man. If you like super hero movies, this one is for you. It's just as good as the first Spiderman. Robert Downey Jr. is amazing as Stark, and the mix of humor, drama and action is just right.

Indiana Jones on the other hand...oh man did they make some mistakes there. I'm not a diehard Jones fan, in fact I only recently had a chance to watch the movies during some marathons on various channels. But even in my brief experiences with the series, I can tell something was msot definately not right with this installment.

I can't specifically say where, but you'll feel it almost immediately when it happens. There's some great action, and Shia LeBouf ain't too bad as Mutt Williams...but there's a specific point in the movie where things take a turn. And after that I just couldn't get the movie to "sit" if you catch my drift.

So in summation, Iron Man great...Indiana Jones not so much.

....oh, and stay after the credits for Iron Man. It's worth it. I didn't really bother with Jones.

Well, it's been so many years since the last one.... They had one in a million chance of getting it right.

As for Iron Man.... WIN.

Indiana surviving the atomic blast without a scratch (he was rocketed inside a refrigerator!) and the spaceship is what overdid it.

I have the same criticism, but for the rest, it was awesome.

Yeah, I was disappointed with that first scene as well.

I was disappointed in the entire premise: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade all centered around the quest for a centerpiece element of a major and/or historically significant religion.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull went all obscure-South American and I'm left thinking "what?"

They went to the well one too many times. If they make a 5th, they really should change the major plotline. Please.

Well originally there was a script that dealt with the Monkey King from Chinese folklore.

But Indy 4 did focus on something that was historically significant and that was El Dorado (Akator), being the city of gold.
