Some fiddlings with pieces...

First, Takanuva's new Power Lance. I've never really liked the set version; the head seems awfully big, especially with how short and thin the handle is. Just doesn't come together into a single, solid design.

 

So I remedied that with Hewkii's shoulder spikes. Three of them together make a neat, solid shape, and are also the right size for a normal Toa to wield (or even the original Takanuva)... I know Lego wouldn't do this, because they technically don't fit together perfectly, but it makes for a nice MOC weapon.

Second, I've had Gali's leg design lying around for a while, and last weekend I also had a Matoro claw around. This was the result. I think it would make an interesting idea to use on an MOC, since it provides a nice slope to cover the ankles without impeding foot movement... and you can do it with most types of legs, too. (Note: it looks better in real life, since you can see how it flows properly. If you have the right pieces lying around, try it.)

 

 

Also, apparently Onua has silver Rahkshi legs. Who knew? I had assumed they were dark grey, given his body, which makes the silver yet another blow against an already suffering color scheme. Nice piece, though.

 

And a belated happy Canada Day to all! I had meant to wish people that earlier in the week (like maybe on July 1st itself), but I kept getting distracted...

Hey.. That Power Lance look awfully familiar...

 

I would try the leg, but I'm still trying to figure out how to attach a silver Metruan torso to a Piraka torso for Onua, like on the prototype Kopaka. It's not going too well.

*looks* Hm, so she did. Not exactly the same, but similar idea. Maybe I subconsciously remembered it while pondering tri-bladed staff tips?

I like the Matoro claw idea... I'll try it when my Gali arrives. As if she didn't already have enough silver. XD

I didn't notice because the silver and dark bluish grey are easily mistakeable in just about every picture of Onua, and since he has a dark grey body and dark grey Rahkshi legs already exist, one would assume that his limbs were the color that both already existed and also worked better with his color scheme...

 

Karzahni's Servant – Tahu and Gali both have silver limbs as well...

Oh. I thought Tahu had dark bluegray Piraka limbs. Silver? That's a little silver-heavy for me... Although I can still use the limbs.

Power lance is much better, but I'm not sure about the Matoro claw... just sorta sticks out doing nothing in particular.

At the moment, yeah; I was thinking it could be used as a base for some sort of armor over the ankle...

You know, Xaeraz, you're not doing much very polite in this entry... pointing out that someone had already used the design I made, correcting spelling, and saying nothing else in either post... It couldn't hurt to say something else than just that. : /

 

Especially since it's actually spelled "impair".

 

Aaaanyway, Velox, the Matoro claw attaches via one of these, which is the most practical way to do it on other types of legs (Metru, Vahki, Rahkshi all work), but you could also use one of these and a blue pin/axle in the Inika leg.

Impale essentially means to stab all the way through. If you thrust a spear through someone's chest and the tip emerged from their back, you have impaled them. Somehow, I don't think that was the word you were looking for. :P

Hm? The claw is turned... both pieces I listed achieve that by design...

I think Velox is seeing that the leg is bent forward, but it looks bent sideways due to the Matoro claw's angle. =/

 

Anyway it is a cool idea. I don't have the piece (<<), but I would like to fiddle around with it.

@ ToM Dracone: Yeah, I guess so now. It just looked like the leg was turned, but with the pin you could turn it to the side I guess. Thanks.

Wait, how do the rockets go on Gali's ankles if she has those Matoro blades there?

 

Overall, not a bad design. I tried it with my pieces, and it does looks better in person.

Limbs. As in, arms and legs. Not the jets or wings. I know those are red.
