Polymatroid is a New York-based experimental/indie rock group. Their debut release, 'See the Whole Staircase,' received mixed reviews from critics. Pitchfork gave the album a fairly good review, as did Allmusic (4 Stars) and Rolling Stone (3.5 Stars). Q Magazine, the Guardian, and NME gave poor reviews. (2 Stars, 2 Stars, and 3/10, respectively.) According to keyboardist and vocalist Vastice Veconi, the album was "A mix of things. Some of that stuff I've had written in my head for ages, but never really bothered with." The band will shortly be going on a US tour to promote the album.
