OOCNPCs in situations like this just clutter things up; why can your awesome ranger dude kill an NPC with one bolt, and then can't kill the rest of the warlocks? In a massive battle like the one in Arhtok it makes semi-sense; in cases like this, not so much. No NPC warlocks; you can say you splashed the PCs, but no killing non-existent NPCs.

OOC: Sorry to make an OOC-only post, but I thought that the warlocks were already approaching the sword room. Was I mistaken?~Keizah, singing out~! Edited by Keizah the Kaleidoscope

OOC:

Username~ Kini HawkeyeCharacter Name~ Serai “Fang” D’FaeyAge~ 20Specialized weapon~ Dual Crossbows. Smaller and less powerful than the standard Issue Human Empire, Semi-Auto Crossbow, Serai’s crossbows act more like a pistol would - less damage than their larger counterparts, but more accurate and less bulky. However, due to the Crossbows’ size, the bolts it uses for ammunition are smaller, allowing her to use an "En Bloc" clip system to load the weapons. Due to the smaller design of the crossbow, Serai can hold one in each hand, but the recoil is so great that a “stock” of sorts is required for their use - A simple brace that rests against her arm or shoulder allows her to fire the weapon without tearing a muscle or dislocating her shoulders.Appearance~ almost perpetually covered in a set of light armor. No skin is exposed asides from her face, which is darkened by a hood. The majority of her armor is simply leather, though her boots, left shoulder, and torso are all covered by gleaming silver steel. Her most distinguishing features are her eyes and hair, both of which are pitch black.Ability/Trait~ Skilled with aiming her Dual Crossbows, Serai is able to quickly aim both of them at a target, or targets. Outside of combat she is extremely wilds-savvy, and is an expert in wilderness survival.Bio~ With a family history spanning almost the entirety of Alkermpa’s life, most of which was lost ages ago, Serai is essentially the last surviving member of an ancient and once powerful family. Somewhere along her bloodline, a member of her family married a Warlock, and ever since the members of her family have gained the unique genetic trait of having completely black eyes, though it is unknown if this is due to the Warlock/Human marriage or some other phenomenon. Serai Fights to restore the legendary Golden Age to Alkermpa, though exactly how this could, or if it ever would happen, is a complete mystery to her. And although she is a part of the Imperial Army, she isn’t quite sure that Either the Warlock’s “Order” or the Empire will survive, or be the faction that creates a lasting peace. No, as far as she cares, new leadership is needed – a unified government of both human and Warlock…

And yes, before anyone's crazy enough to ask, it's been approved by Master Humva... I'd like to think that people know i'm not enough of a noob to post a profile in a topic before getting it approved :PNot only that but it's kinda the way dis RPG wurks an such.IC:{Serai "Fang" D'Faey}{Corporal 1D}Location: Revor Military BaseSerai strode confindently out of the armory, the holsters at her hip held her newly repaired crossbows and the packs beside those holding the custom bolts they fired. She looked around for a moment, blinking to adjust her eyes to the light before pulling her hood up and over her head. She looked around for a moment, striding forward towards the center of the base, watching, waiting. She'd been told that a team was being gathered for some sort of mission, and that she was to join that team, in a missive sent by a High Noble. She had no idea which one, only that the "mission" sounded promising. Very promising. She just hoped her teammates were as well. Edited by Kini Hawkeye

OOC: I know I'm just nitpicking and it wouldn't really make a difference in the RP, but I don't see any way a smaller crossbow would be more accurate. In any case it would be optimised for shorter ranges than a conventional crossbow since the smaller bolts won't keep their kinetic energy as long as a normal one.And it's "magazine," not "clip." The clip is the thing in the magazine that keeps the bolts in place but the magazine is the box itself, and use of the word generally implies everything else. This isn't disputable.ANYWAY... IC for Lawrence in the works....IC: "It's time," announced Lawrence, standing up. Left a payment on the table and proceeded out the door, beckoning to Emilia to follow. He seemingly wandered through the streets of Orcen, stopping in front of an old boarded-up storefront. Indeed, this was the place Valerius had mentioned to him before, where he was told to come after the meeting. The bourgeois pushed the door to the building open and stepped inside. Standing in the room were Lord Valerius and a man wearing black robes with a veil over his face. Valerius nodded a greeting to Lawrence and Emilia then stepped back to the side of the room. The man in black spread his arms and opened a dark pathway."This will take you to Revor," explained Valerius. "The Ocean's Fury will be gathered at the main military compound. I will follow in a day or so once the mission plan is complete."~~~The pathway opened to a dark alleyway in Revor. Lawrence looked around. He knew exactly where he was, having grown up in this city. They were about two blocks away from the city's inner garrison. He led Emilia to the military complex, surrounded by high walls with a barracks at the rear and various offices and storage units around the central drill yard. The guards at the entrance recognised him and let the two through.

IC: Emilia's mouth formed a small "O" in suprise as the passageway opened. She looked at it's creators, suprised that there were human allied warlocks.Well.... That's strange. Her brows knitted together in anger. No matter what, she would always distrust magic. She walked in, wondering if her clothes would interfere with the magic. They seemed not to affect the passageway, so she stepped through cautiously, a feeling of dread creeping into her. She focused on the path, and the light at the end. As they walked through the passageway, Emilia strapped on her gauntlets beneath her clothes, completing the armor which lay beneath. Her helmet she held tucked under one arm, hood still down.As they exited, she followed Reid silently, waiting to see when they would arrive.Ah, how fast things move.As they neared the complex, threw up her hood. While it hid her features, there was no mistaking that the black clad figure was a woman. As they walked inside, she glanced at Reid, eyebrows arched questioningly.

OOCI love how a noble lady who probably wasn't even aware of the existence of human magic users casually takes a Dark Pathway in stride.Keep in mind folks, these things are not common place. Even warlocks dislike using them, mainly because of the whole 'sometimes you don't come out' thing. The Empire has only recently begun using them out of sheer necessity; the High Lord is probably arrogant enough that he doesn't care, and I don't care about that; I care about people who've probably never seen one in their life going 'meh, w/e'.So basically it's directed at ToA. Sorry mate. Not saying you need to edit; just keep it in mind, please?

OOCIt's alright.IC [Location: Citadel. Identity: Monroe]The duo approached the chamber carefully; Monroe looked at the massive doors blocking the way, wondering just how one could open them. He poked around the entrance for a bit before finding a crank, motioning for Karin to operate the opposite one. Gritting his teeth as he opened the door, the massive stone doors pulled open a little, Monroe deciding it was enough and slipped through the opening. What he found on the other side was a guard and three priests, huddled next to a pillar. He barely noticed them though; the room was massive and a testament to engineering and architecture, but even that dimmed next to what was in the center. The sword had a way of drawing your eyes; you could be looking the opposite direction and yet you could still feel it calling to you. The power that radiated off of it was obvious; it sat there, glistening in the light coming through the windows, a million gemstones embedded into it's hilt reflecting in all directions. Whoever had made it obviously spared no expense on looks. He snapped out of the trance, shaking his head as the sword started calling to him again. He wasn't here to gawk; he was here to secure this sword. Walking up to the priests, he nodded at the guard -judging from his uniform, an I3 in the infantry core-, then looked at the priest; a member of one of the higher orders, obviously quite prestigious if his robes said anything."We're here under orders directly from the Emperor," the commander said simply. "We need the sword.""That's a sacred religious artifact," the priest scowled. "You can't just stroll in and take it.""Says the man in the room that's about to be overrun with some very mad warlocks." Monroe turned his back, walking to the sword. "I don't like messing with artifacts like this, but I have my orders.""You might find it a little hard to take with you," a younger, lower priest chimed up, earning a scowl from his elder."Why would that be?""I, um, I..." The younger priest looked at his superior, then figured it was worth it and continued. "About five days ago the sword, it stopped being able to be moved. Every morning we take it and clean it in the holy water in the inlet about five kilometers from here; five days ago, when we tried moving it, it wouldn't budge."Monroe raised an eyebrow, placing his hands on the hilt and giving it a pull. Nothing. The sword simply rested on it's side on it's stand, nothing was holding it, yet it felt as if he was trying to lift a boulder. It wouldn't move."It's the prophecies," the young priest said. "They said it'd do this when it's heir approached.""So my day is about to get even worse." The commander gave the sword one final pull, then turned to Karin. "We'd better get back out there; I have a feeling this isn't going end well."OOCThis is suppose to be like, the first real PvP and we're moving at five posts a day xD Where did all of our players run off to?

OOC: Hm...if there are no NPC warlocks, I guess that leaves William and Tsulcrix to keep the ball rolling. I'll try to IC more, otherwise we'll never get to the sword chamber.IC: Tsulcrix dove to the side as she heard a crossbow fire, and cursed as droplets of water sprayed her torso. She could already feel her magic weakening. She noticed a flicker of movement above her and, thinking quickly, grabbed a vial of oil, lit a piece of cloth inside it, and flung the boiling vial in the direction that she heard the soldier land.

OOC: Sorry, my bad.-==IC: Martin//Citadel of the Sea==-Martin and Orion continued to fight, as they then proceeded to bring the fight into the citadel itself. OOC: For the sake I simplicity, I'll just assume that the rest of the warlocks ran ahead.IC: This human is fast. Tsulcrix thought as she managed to dodge a handful of arrows, grateful for the time she had spent running from street gangs. A quarrel grazed her arm, and she gritted her teeth to prevent herself from crying out in pain. She sprinted behind one of the columns, trying to ignore the numbness seeping through the cut. She closed her eyes and visualized the flames she had seen near the hunter. Feeling the flames respond to her will, she made tongues of flame burst around corner toward the hunter's hiding place.

IC: Lawrence looked over to the primary food storage building to the left of the barracks and saw an armoured figure loitering about in front.Good, he thought, someone is already here.He strolled across the open flat of the drill yard as if he owned the place. "Oi," he called out to the person, apparently a woman. "Are you here for the Ocean's Fury? I'm Lawrence Reid, the commander."

IC: As Tsulcrix finally got a decent look at her attacker, she smiled despite herself.A cloak...perfect. After dodging the ranger's hastily fired bolts, she recalled the image of the cloak and caused it to ignite. Then, she willed the cloak to wrap around the soldier's neck and strangle him. At the very least, it would distract him long enough for Tsulcrix to excape.OOC: I won't be able to post again today, sorry. Stupid real life. <_<

-==IC: Martin==-The fight between warlock and human continued, as sword clanging rang out through the halls. Martin frowned, as Orion took the opportunity to send the warlock onto the defensive. Martin blocked the blows with the flat of his blade, even as the two edged toward the sword room slowly. Martin swung out to attempt to counter the attacks, however, all that succeeded in doing, was to cause the steel weapons to clang off each other. Martin ducked under one blow, and then stabbed out at Orion's arm, which connected as the human growled in pain. The cut wasn't deep, luckily, but it was certainly a blow that would hurt his performance, if it was his primary arm. However, it, again luckily for Orion, was his left arm, and since his sword was a one-handed weapon, he could simply use his right hand to slash out at the warlock, which he did."Why do you fight?" Martin asked, which caused Orion to stop in shock for a moment, and then narrowed his eyes, and slashed out at the magic user again, though Martin simply jumped back."Because your kind doesn't know when to give up. You act as if you warlocks have never done anything to us." Orion stated, as Martin frowned."The humans have also done things to the warlocks. However, both of those things happened in ancient history!" Martin said, and Orion smirked."Not all of them." Orion stated, as the two then resumed their potentially deadly battle, even as they drew closer to the Sword's resting place...

OOC: Anyone wanna fight my three warlocks? :PIC: Emilia tossed her hood back, and shook out her long brown hair, which fell perfectly into place. She extended a gloved hand to the stranger."Emilia di Coruzzi, at your service."IC: When his cloak ignited, Ronare reacted quickly, and tossed the thing off even as it twisted around to try and strangle him. It caught on his armor, however, and he was forced to rip it off, leaving only his hood hanging on as a tattered piece of cloth. He peeked around the corner from the other side, eyes blazing, and fired again.

OOCBlarg, I was suppose to break the news. :\But yeah, JC is correct; the RPG is indeed closing down. Fact of the matter is, as fun as the setting is, our members are inactive and teams can't run with the majority of it's members inactive. Thus, I'm going give Alkermpa a dignified death and have it closed before it simply dies of backpage-itis.So yeah, it's been fun folks, and me and Koth will be back with another RPG. If you want a more indepth reason of why I'm doing this I'll be happy to give it to you in PM. Until next time.

Dang. =/ Well, it was good while it lasted... And I'm sorry if I was part of the reason for that, things got hectic and distracting about the same time this was brought back. But, I do agree about giving it a dignified death, it deserves that. =) Can't wait to see what you've got next, however. =)

IC[Jason Hanlon - Arhtok]In a moment of fantastic daring, Jason leapt into the air, and emptied his clip. The first shot cleaved through the skull of a random warlock. The second one bounced off the eyeball of the warlock behind him, flying through the air, and killing not only all of ToA's characters, but flew all the way to Arhtok and killed the warlock king too.
