(i know it's june now, that not the point) more blog slop for the pile! the second half of may was really something, and by something, i mean really not much. i finished my first collage prerequisite class, turning in a 5th paper. This one was one the ethics of retaining confederate monuments, something i feel very strongly about, as i'm very into activism. i bought and modified my next cosplay for an anime convention, and did some more work on my diy project. most of the second half of may, however, was recovering from a night in the er. it's too much to go into here, but it was a very harrowing experience. that's pretty much it.2 points

Forgot to blog about May. Mostly uneventful anyways. Got back into playing Overwatch (for whatever reason) and have been having fun. I'm looking forward to Summer Game Fest and Nintendo Direct because I'm desperate for any new news relating to Persona, specifically Persona 4: Revival. P4 is my favorite game in the series, so I'm really looking forward to it. Anyways, that's all for now. We shall see what this month holds.2 points

Was browsing the blogs here after the end-of-April "boom" in activity and thought I'd add my own since it's been almost 3 years since I've added anything here, although it's almost the end of May now. In fact, this is actually the longest gap between entries since I started this blog. In many ways my life has followed the pretty natural progression from those last few entries. I'm still working the same job, although I've gotten a promotion and I've steadily gotten better at my work and picked up new responsibilities. I'm still enjoying life in my same apartment and I'm still responsible for my own messes and cleaning. Over time I've added new furniture and artwork to make it more my own. Really, in 2023 I had almost nothing here besides a kitchen table and a mattress on the floor. I'm still a music nerd. If anything I've gotten deeper and deeper into it. If anyone here uses Rate Your Music or just wants to see my tastes you can find me on there here. I got those crowns put on my teeth. Later on, I found a new dentist in my town to go to regularly. Turns out one of those crowns was put on improperly, leading to food constantly getting stuck in a hole near the bottom of the tooth after every meal I ate for about a year. I've gotten that taken care of now too. I never did make any sort of post for Brickfairs 2022-2024. Maybe I'll get around to that, but probably not since I doubt anyone cares. I could do it though since I do have all my thoughts written down privately. I missed 2025 due to being too bummed out about some family stuff. It sucks that that turned out to be the last year in the Dulles Expo Center, but no one knew that was coming. I'll definitely being going this year with it being right in Baltimore. Maybe I'll post about that afterwards. And I don't want to get too all into that family stuff I mentioned, but I'm very glad I've had my cousin as a relatively constant presence in my life over the last 3 years. Recently, she introduced me to a game I've been playing called Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts, which is where the image for this entry comes from. So there you go! It shouldn't be so long before the next one.2 points

And this blog entry is coming a week into June. Time has no meaning. What happened in May? I've started using a wall calendar in my home office to keep track of events. Incidentally, it's a calendar of Alan Lee illustration's of Tolkien's First Age I picked up at a small, used-and-new bookstore here I really like. Now that's a sentence that tells you a lot about me, lol. May was busy. The first weekend was a meet up a community car repair group I've thrown in with. Since I live in a car-focused city (which, well, describes most of the US) I wanted to learn the basics of car repair. So that day I changed my oil and then helped someone else change theirs. It's cool group — I've learnt to change breaks, check my air filter, charge my AC. In June's meeting a week ago I rotated my tires and changed my transmission fluid. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't fun to be getting under a car, taking parts off, putting stuff back together, getting my hands greasy and a metal splinter in the side of my hand. Though my back the day after is less pleased with me. A good friend of mine who once upon a time went by Motago on this website came through town for a couple days. It's always good to see him (and yes, folks find it amusing that we met each other on a Bionicle forum). Something truly special about that. The busy-ness of May was very much that sort of vague non-specific busy-ness that I find somewhat hard to define. Weekends of errands and all those sort of things that fill the day-to-day. Another piece of mine finished in May — a 15-second TV spot for the second season of Deli Boys: 0033-OXEY1-6015-0_H_H.mp4 I haven't seen it in the wild anywhere (probably on account of my myriad ad blockers), but hey, did that! Another editor addressed some client notes on the backend, swapping in the emotional support gun for the other gag we had, but the core structure's mine. Pretty proud to get a spot out, especially for this show that I do really like. And Clair Obscur. So much Clair Obscur as the wife and I platinum'd it then ordered an Esquie mug and pre-ordered the vinyl soundtrack and Esquie plushie. What a game, man.1 point

I can’t believe it’s already June! I suppose ‘tis time to update with another entry. A small one, I do believe, as per upcoming artgifts finished stay tucked away after completion, and present ones are slow progress. As I write this bit, on June third,I am filled with gratitude. It’s the four-year-anniversary of last seeing my exfather. That dreadful DVPO court day. Unfortunately, it was also the last time I saw my grandmother, and couldn’t talk to her. She’d never seen me in my wheelchair before (as Covid, then my poor health prevented travel.) She died four months later, and I traumatically learned of this from a distant cousin’s Facebook post. I really think the trauma of the situation her son had created shortened her lifespan. For whatever reason, a home/ garden magazine subscription she sent my mom has still been showing up at our home every month. How this is being sponsored from someone (hopefully) in Heaven is a baffle to us. Anyway, onto the memories made in May. https://www.instagram.com/p/DX9d_WcFuGh/?igsh=MTgyNGZmc3Q5ZXFvMg== May flowers, meal makes and fake snake https://www.instagram.com/p/DX9ezpslmgp/?img_index=4&igsh=MXY0bnh6OHBsZXBt Getting artgifts done early + being over 108 hrs into a secret project= not currently much postable content 🙈 https://www.instagram.com/p/DYNI2R7EauW/?igsh=YTFvcHlxdDVld281 “Limelight” 2x3” 4.5hrs. In honor of KK. 🥳🎂 A @bzpgram birthday #randomartsofkindness. Started having to use wrist braces again recently. Trying to return to arts for a few hours a day is leading to severe wrist pain + bilateral arm numbness that’s so painful it’s waking me from sleep. Brace is helping the daytime pain a bit, thankfully. Guessing it’s from EDS. ❓🤷♀️❤️🩹 https://www.instagram.com/p/DYNJ4s-ERBW/?igsh=aXdheHE2NGRub3Vs https://www.instagram.com/p/DYZy7g-luGh/?img_index=5&igsh=MXdoY2YwNms1ZTU5cg== “Ethereal”5x7” 14.5hrs. + card-doodles of the adorable service dog Eevee. Found $10 bill outside TN tornado, saw baby mallard ducks and their parents in tiny pond under the bear coaster (and I fell in a bush routing a lost baby ducks back to parents 😂), we finally rode the train, and I rode the log flume since it was open this time. It’s the greatest experience to be on a rollercoaster, upside down, staring at both ends of a gigantic double rainbow! 🥹🌈🌈, Traumatized myself and mom in the teacups again 🌪️😵💫🫖☕️. Got her on blazing fury this time! 🙌Ended the day with riding lightning rod for an hour until closing time 🎢 . Totally filled up my disability pass slots this time and they had to scribbled on the sides 😂. Oh, and my mom wouldn’t let me take baby yoda in before due to fears of theft, so I made a chain and collar system that locks around the child’s neck and onto the back rod of my wheelchair. Way more fun to have the lil alien friend along for the day. Kids get so excited over seeing him hahaha 🥹💚 We stayed 11 hrs there + 5-6hr round trip drive time and I wasn’t destroyed after! So grateful and in shock that we get to do such things now! 🥹😭🙏 Was a lot easier on me due to: letting my mom push my chair most of the time, a sunhat because I immediately burn from plaquenil, wearing knee and wrist braces, me bringing in an insulated frozen protein icee from home to sustain me without GI tragedy while out (a lot more fun when not near-fainting from activities while fasted)+ two ice packed meals for mom, and packing my sleep vitamins to get in a nap on the way home. One of the best days ever! 🥹🦋 https://www.instagram.com/p/DYr9OpPkQHU/?img_index=18&igsh=dmJkMzdoaXo5d204 https://www.instagram.com/p/DYr-j-cEWg6/?img_index=18&igsh=dTBiYWZoYXdubWk5 https://www.instagram.com/p/DY93L28EQd3/?img_index=7&igsh=amw3dGpsaWx1NThy Plush Pham photos, as per I already was photo frolicking for a creation at the time. 🧚 💚🌲🍃🌱🌳 transport https://www.instagram.com/p/DY95IAEEWJw/?img_index=19&igsh=Z2w3eHE5aHh0YjQ0 Mom stay-vacation week. We acquired my first oil paint supplies, then had an impromptu outside-painting parting on the brick side of the home. Lots of fun. ❤️ The flare didn’t hit until two days later. 😆🙏 https://www.instagram.com/p/DY96Oaikfar/?img_index=17&igsh=MWNxZTR5YmF4Mzd1ZA== (Tarp is for grass killing for my mom’s gardening.) The dreaded deed of refilling mom’s fragile heirloom china cabinet post-foundation work is done. Mom #staycation week painting party. Paint purchased August 2024 and never was used. Painting random barn stuff I found. My swingset scenery is now very #aliceinwonderland. Still a #wip When you haven’t much money, but a lot of barn things 😆. I think that’s all of the May-kes. A few in-progress side projects are about in the garden, but are in no presentable state yet. My main amusement of the moment is a larger-than-usual (for me) painting (in oils!). I somehow can’t find more than 2-3hrs to dedicate to it each day. My med therapies (and food prep + inescapable naps) take up more time than I’d like to admit. But I give thanks as I have zero functionality/pain management/life quality without them! ❤️ Happy pre-summer, dear friends! ☀️🌈☁️ 🙏🫶1 point
