I have about two weeks to enjoy this Premier Membership before school and the International Baccalaureate program start up. Not really looking forward to the workload, but if it makes college easier then so be it.
...except the only other site I'm active on is MOCpages, which we could link to already. Most of the content not allowed on BZP I'm not interested in saying or being exposed to anyway. I can see how the change in necessary and good, particularly since there's a warning involved and you still can't link to non-BZP-friendly content, but I'm not sure I personally really like it or not.
But yeah, a great choice on the part of the staff. The recent changes have all be great.
Just finished re-sorting my collection. For the first time I have my system sorted- it was sorted by color with the Bionicle bits before, but now it's actually helpful. I have maybe 30 families of particularly useful bits sorted by shape and the rest by color. Black and dark and light grey and bley are sub-sorted into standard brick, standard plates, standard tiles, standard slopes, and other.
I never really realized how many nifty system bits I had going to waste in the chaos of my collection.
The big red one was for a contest on MOCpages, but I didn't finish it in time. The theme was "Alien", so I was going for a creature with a squid-type head, and elephant truck and bulky inverse-knee legs. On the bottom is the very beginning of a piano using HF fists for the keys.
Seriously. I think I say one of the movies when I was, like, eight. Maybe younger. And I read a Star Wars novel that was pretty good once. But that's it.
But I have Bionicle, there is no room for Star Wars. My enjoyment of Narnia and LoTF just barely fits.
So, I have created a blog. I have mixed feelings about this, given that it's BZP's birthday and the Blogs will be flooded, but I want to used this week as a trial to see if maintaining a blog is really worth it.
In case you haven't figured it out yet, I obsess. I am not a well-rounded person. When I like something, I put a lot of effort and time into it, and have none left over for smaller hobbies and such. My primary obsession is Lego. I got my first Lego set on my first birthday, and it snowballed from there. When I was younger I went through several phases- Dinosaurs, Bob the Builder, and others. Every stage had one thing in common- Lego. The Lego Dinosaur line, Duplo Bob the Builder, and building models of whatever I liked at the time. Then I got my first Bionicle set, McToran Onepu, and my obsession with Lego was focused even more on the single, brilliant theme of Bionicle.
I don't do sports, I don't make music, I don't listen to much music, I especially don't care or know about pop culture. My internet experience is based around the Lego community. Other things I do enjoy and, often, obsess over are, first and foremost, Church, school, science fairs, books, and Nintendo games.
This blog will chronicle my obsessions. Any stuff I think is worth posting I will post, and I hope you'll find it worth reading as well.
