Nintendo, you release far too few soundtracks, and I wish those you did release were more easily available. Would it be that hard to post all the soundtracks on iTunes?

Here's to appreciating the soundtracks, Nintendo or otherwise, that are available, and how awesome they are.

I own, from eBay, the Japanese Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Super Mario Galaxy soundtracks. My fave is probably Majora's Mask for pure addictive tunes, although Galaxy has a wondrous, different type of epic, inspiring pieces that are impeccably orchestrated. Wind Garden and Melty Molten galaxy, anyone?

Here's too rereleases of the Twilight Princess, Moka OoT remix, and MM orchestrated albums so they go down in price, and more soundtracking in general. (Also more iTunes/iTunes equivalent releases, pretty please?)

So it actually snowed last night, so we get a second day of postponement of exams. Instead of extra studying I decided to try out this Metroid thing everyone's talking about. And... It's really good. The controls aren't as satisfying platforming-wise as they could be, but otherwise it's a really fun game. I haven't made much progress, and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be accomplishing, but who needs goals? I just got some Super Missiles and that's enough for me.

So I'm piecing together my pre-experiment paperwork and introduction for my science fair/extended essay project. It's the fourth year of continuation of a project researching torque joints in carpentry, and I need to do some research on failure modes of wood joints, mostly mechanical stuff, no moisture or combustion caused failures. I particularly need scholarly sources pertaining to nail joints and torque-withstanding joints.

So... Anybody just so happen to know of some relevant scholarly articles? Anyone a researcher in the area? No?

Eh, it was worth a shot.

So, Christmas came and it was pretty great. My family and I enjoyed Christmas at home and then went to my Grandparent's for a few days. It was very relaxing and just what I needed. Gift-wise, here's what I got:

Lego (I just asked for "any and all Lego." Turns out you get a bunch of neat stuff that way.)
    -Hogwarts Express Polybag
    -Fire Truck Polybag
-The Hobbit: An Unexpected Gathering ( )
-Superman vs. Power Armor Lex (minus Superman and Wonder Woman figs [thrift shop])
    -Toy Story Trash Compactor Escape
-Brain Attack Surge (my first Brain Attack set, I kinda skipped that wave)
    -Clone Troopers vs. Droidekas
    -Pirate Plank

    Non-Lego
-A hat Wikipedia tells me is called a "Trapper Hat" (yay warm ears)
    -Earbuds
    -Pants
-The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
    -Hyrule Historia
    -$10 iTunes gift card
    -$65 total cash

A great haul, I think. The question now is what to do with the money. There are a few Zelda things I want, and I'm having a hard time deciding what to put it towards. At some point I'll have to buy a Gameboy Advance (SP? is the screen smaller on SP, or the same size?) and Minish Cap. There's also Twilight Princess, which I've borrowed for GC but don't own. I've had a hankering to replay it recently. Which begs the question of which version. GC is more expensive but has what I consider the canon orientation. Wii is cheaper but has non-canon orientation, the funny Wiimote-swinging swordplay, lacks a few glitched I'd like to mess around with and isn't the platform I first played the game on. Or I could save the money for Lego or a Wii U when Zelda U come out.

But yeah, hope you enjoyed Christmas, because I sure did. And Happy New Year!

    I’m dreaming

    Of a teal Christmas

Just like the ones I used to know

    With a blue-green Miru

    That ABS hue

The Slizer named Jungle’s parts would show

    I’m dreaming

    Of a teal Christmas

With every Lego set I build

May your Lego gifts leave you thrilled

Just remember the color Stafford killed

    I’m dreaming

    Of a teal Christmas

With every Lego set I build

May your Lego gifts leave you thrilled

Just remember the color Stafford killed

I'm pretty ambivalent, really. I was expecting to be really excited at any mention of a new Zelda game, Zelda U or not, but this so far this doesn't look like the style of game I'm interested in. It doesn't look like it will have the gameplay I love about Zelda games. I'm not against it, though. No reason for the tons of fans who have been wanting something like this not to receive it.

Then again, with just a minute and a half of footage, nothing is certain yet. I may get really hype for it later on.

oh and I don't have a Wii U so it's not like I can play it anyways

Got myself a Timid Protean Froakie, perfect Sp. A, Sp. D and S.

I may have literally squealed with happiness.

I may also have made an excited, futile effort at explained to my sisters why this was a big deal.

    Quacklin' (Farfetch'd Lv. 97)
    Jedward (Greninja Lv. 81)
    Blaziken (Blaziken Lv. 83)
    Hermione (Sigilyph Lv. 82)
    Norik (Charizard Lv. 80)
    Mordecai (Linoone Lv. 79)

Xaeraz the Honedge, Scatcat the Vivillon, and Xaviander the Xerneas helped along the way.

Verdict: Pokemon is absolutely amazing. How did I live this long without it?

    *For Trade*
I desperately want Mewtwonite Y. I have Mewtwonite X. Firstly, I don't know if there is even an item-trading system, but if there is, I want to make this trade.

I rarely post WIPs, but I'd really appreciate any feedback on this. It's a WIP of Ganon's head from OOT. I used screenshots, official art, and a paper craft of the in-game model to try and replicate his face. I'm not sure it really feels like the head of the massive monster Ganon is, though. Really his head is this strange dark green color, but it's so dark during the battle I thought black would be more appropriate. Plus his eyes are positioned correctly, but without the dark atmosphere they seem goofy.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Feedback? I really want your opinion, I feel like mine is warped from struggling with this thing too much.

Also Bricklink! I only needed ten of these pieces for a Link MOC this Ganon will be to scale to, but how could I resist cheap pin connectors?

Is this thing available on 3DS virtual console? I bought a 3DS for the sole purpose of being able to play all the 2D Zelda games in order (I'd played Legend of Zelda, Zelda II and Link to the Past on Wii VC and Link's Awakening and Oracle of Ages on 3DS VC). I'm starting Oracle of Seasons right now.

The problem is, I can't find Minish Cap on the the VC shop, but some sites say it is or at least was available. I'm not going to buy a Gameboy Advance just for one game, but I'd hate to miss out on Minish Cap.

I'm officially stating Legend of Zelda as my second obsession, after Lego. My life is so much more varied now.
