    "Well... What?"
     
    "If I know what I need to say, can I just turn it in sans citations and add them once the source is published?"
     
    "How do you even know about this source if it's not published?"
     
    "...I wrote it. This paper is a continuation of those papers."
     
    In related news, anybody know how to cite in-press sources in MLA?

    I finally bred that perfect Torchic that had been evading me for weeks...
     
    and then got a shiny Porygon on Wonder Trade. Trace, 5IV, everything but defense, not hacked. I think that's the second shiny I've received there, the other being a Leavanny, and that looks almost identical to its normal form.

    I... Was not expecting this. Nintendo UK has honest-to-goodness announced Mario Kart 8 DLC coming out in November. (one comes out in November, the other doesn't come out until March 2015). It's starting to look like the Smash Kart people have always wanted, too. Link and the Villager and Isabelle from Animal Crossing will be among the downloadable characters, and Zelda and Animal Crossing inspired tracks have been promised. Plus an F-Zero inspired kart.
     
    Here's the page, but long story short, there will be two DLC packs available for ~$12 each, (see edit) including three characters, four karts, and two cups (eight courses) per pack. It certainly seems reasonable to me.
     
    I'm more than a little surprised. I could see Nintendo making Mario Kart 8 an all-out Super Smash Kart, but to just dabble in non-Mario content like this seems odd. For some reason I feel compelled to dislike the idea of mixing in other franchises like this, especially when it means putting Link on a motorcycle... But I can't make myself dislike it. It's just too cool! I'll take all the HD Link I can get! I am very excited for race on some Hyrulian tracks. I've never played Animal Crossing, so I'm ambivalent towards that side of it, but more Mario Kart is more Mario Kart!
     
    In related strange Nintendo news, apparently there's a Pokemon-Tekken Tag crossover "Pokken Fighters" slated for arcade release in Japan? So that's a thing.
     
    Rapid Edit: As I was writing it, the North American page happened! First off, it's $12 for both packs! That's an entire four new cups (including a TRIFORCE CUP), meaning a 50% increase in track number, for just twelve dollars. Props to Nintendo, I expect this will get some people who haven't already to buy the game. There's also more pictures (including the Animal Crossing characters)! Pack 1 (the Zelda one) will release in November, the second will release in March 2015. So there will be waiting. I you haven't gotten a Wii U and Mario Kart 8 yet, you should, because the you can race me as Link. Plus, of course, the Wii U has other great games, just sayin'.

    When you have vague recollections of something nostalgic, but don't remember enough about it to pin down what exactly it was or search it out.
     
    I know that as a kid we had a couple of VHS tapes with a particular children's program. It started out live-action, with this man in a cool house and, I believe, some sort of VCR player that looked impressive. This man introduced whatever that episode's classic tale was, and then we saw an animated feature of said tale. I clearly remember Peter Rabbit and the tale of Paul Revere being shown. I vividly remember the old US flag with the segmented snake being featured, and I believe there was a snake character in that episode as well. If anyone remembers this show or knows how to research it, I'd really appreciate it.

    -Meeting BZPers is cool
    -So is streetpassing BZPers... I really should have cleared out my Mii Plaza halfway though my visit

    I'm not there, but I will be during the visiting hours tomorrow! If you see someone in glasses, a red backpack, and a blue 2011 BZPower shirt, say hi, because it's probably me. I plan to arrive at least an hour early to try to get near the front of the line... Here's hoping that works out.
     
    I do have some MOCs on display as well. The spinning Superman and Lex Luthor diorama, the Pohatu Phantoka with the single Gorast-wing propeller, and the Toa with the derpy yellow Dupolo piece as his torso are all mine. The tan platform treehouse and the tree with Gukkos on it in the Le-Koro display are mine as well.

    Alright, guys. The Professor Layton and Ace Attorney series had better be as good as everyone keeps saying they are. I was dragged to Kohl's to grab a shirt and had an opportunity to browse Gamestop's used games. They had a buy-2-get-1 sale on DS and Wii games, and I took the opprotunity to grab Professor Layton and the Curious Village, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, and Miles Edgeworth Ace Attorney Investigations. I was going to get a Phoenix Wright game, but an employee advised me that all three Wright games were coming to 3DS soon. If I end up liking the gameplay I'll have to pick up the compilation.
     
    Honestly, I bought them half for myself and half to get my sisters to use their 3DS. A man from church gave them one and I'm hoping to get them into gaming with it. I'm not sure what to expect from these games, but I'm optimistic.
     
    (Also that was Brickfair money I spent. If these aren't good I'll have grave regrets.)

    Honestly, I probably won't get Hyrule Warriors. Not only is the gameplay style not one I'm super interested in, but there are other Wii U games I would rather spend my money on, and a few of the character designs (read: Shia and the Great Fairy) go a little too far for me. Beyond that, though, Tecmo Koei is making something amazing, and I am very impressed and very excited about the well-constructed, dense bundle of Zelda series goodness that Hyrule Warriors is shaping up to be. Every reveal they make shows them utilizing Zelda items, characters, and such is very creative, very awesome ways that truly celebrate the series and will bring out the fanboy/girl in any Zelda fan.
     
    All that to say, the last batch of images and info was very cool, introducing Darunia, Ruto, and Sheik as playable characters, but this has got to be my favorite tidbit yet:

    When I search for a college, why on earth do you tell me, even before the address, that it recieved "4.4" out of 6 Google reviews? Has anyone, ever, thought they were going to one college, only to see the Google review number and change their mind? Think, Google.

    Well, I'm playing the Master Quest in OoT 3D, and I'd like to take a moment and ask why on earth there are cows embedded in Jabu-Jabu's flesh.

    I don't think they look cute. They look... disconcerting. Their eyes aren't eyes and their little stick arms look all weird with their big plush bodies. They're my least favorite Zelda species.

    So OCRemix just released a really cool album you should all download. It's even better than the trailer makes it sound. It was released yesterday and I've already listened to Peach's House Party far too many times.
