  1. Thanks! What was going through my head was that the morphemes (I learned a new word it seems!) would represent the cultural/natural/etc. context of each koro, ie a table would be po (as it is of craftsmanship), or spirit would be fire. And they wouldn't always have to make sense; wīf, for instance, the Old English word for woman/wife, is neuter. I suppose it would make the learning process rather arduous, though.
  2. He returns! For a time I had given up, but checked today on a whim. Very good stuff. I've actually been doing a lot of language stuff recently (Not as much as you, obviously, I'm an undergrad and language is a hobby, not area of study), and one of the coolest things I find about it is etymology. I was wondering, have you considered how the matoran language might have developed? It sounds really cool, but to be able to associate words and gramatical concepts with matoran culture would be (I think) really fun. Obviously this wouldn't work (as it would require overhauling much of the language), but it would be neat to have multiple "declensions" (I don't know what the proper term is for a particle-based system) based on the six base elements; this would also replace the need for gender. When considering the matoran universe, I notice the tahunga separate themselves purely on this basis. Ga-matoran have what we see as feminine characteristics, but in the matoran universe they would be seen as Ga characteristics, and so-forth. It's all for fun though. I just love discussing language. P.S., Unfortunately it will be some time until I can study this in depth again (though I will keep up as it progresses). I'm currently studying Anglo-Saxon for a humanities GDR, as well as learning latin online (And greek is in the queue). Let's just say I have a thing for the classics.
  3. Well, the Hau is finished now. Sounds kind of self-centered, but I'm rather impressed with it. So what comes next? Again, huna is an option, but I do not own a huna to help me. So Kakama, maybe? Then I'll have all of the ta-matoran masks finished!

  4. My blender Pakari is finished. Time to move onto: huna or Hau.

  5. It may seem odd, but I've found the restrictions on newer members somewhat frustrating. I understand, of course, that it is meant to prevent spam (and does so rather well I'd imagine), but... as someone who just likes to make the occasional post it can be quite a nuisance to wait for your post to show up, or not be able to PM people (I have had a good reason before). It's not going away any time soon, because it's the best solution to what is a problem on many forums. Just a wee bit annoying, that's all.
  6. Looks really cool! I don't have time to play version 2 through right now, but I definitely will soon. By the way, is it MAC inclusive?
  7. I have no way of backing myself up, but it would make the most sense to me (I think a few people may have touched on this already) that the Av-Matoran would turn into a sort of "blank-slate" Bohrok. They would essentially be a shell, totally drained from element or purpose, and it would be in this form that they are received by the Bahrag. From there they (the Bahrag) decide what is most needed, and "charge" each one according to the decided element. More of a swing in the dark than a theory, but I think it sounds pretty cool.
  8. This is really looking great! I'd love to help out, but I'm rather unknowledgeable in the specific areas you require... I am trying to learn some java, though, so if you need an extra hand I may be able to help out some time in the future.Keep up the good work!
  9. MNOG was always my favorite. Hopefully we can all relive it in a unique light soon!
  10. That's excellent. I'll try doing some research in that area, thank you!
  11. I'll definitely get on that. It's good to know about the high-poly problem BNG has.
  12. The reason I'm hesitant about going to Bionicle: Next Generation is because the project, to my knowledge, is devoted to a separate game (and members are only people working on that game). Of course, I may be wrong. If somebody were to correct me on that, that would be excellent.
  13. A friend and I are working on a 3D remastered version of the original MNOG (Mata Nui Online Game). We both have experience in modeling, however the complex pieces offered by Bionicle make for excruciatingly slow progress. If others wish to help out, we are searching for any extra models people may have created (all contributors will be included in final credits).Thanks,-Matt5327One example of an unfinished work:
  14. Any plans to continue this? I'm loving it so far. If you have not already settled the issue definitively in your mind, may I make one suggestion? I am of the opinion that placement of an adjective should affect meaning - similar to the emphasis word order has in latin, only much stronger. For instance: nui=great mata nui = great being, as in, of all the beings, he is the being of greatness. kina nui = great temple, as in, the greatest of all temples. nui jaga = great scorpion, as in, a scorpion of immense size. nui rama = great insect, " "
  15. Sorry if someone mentioned this (most of this forum was TL;DR for me), but what I would really like to see is the original MNOG remastered in real-time 3D. It's actually something I've started, but unlikely to come to fruition (I have exactly zero experience in game development, esp. programming). I feel like the first MNOG is one of reasons Bionicle really became popular, and most of us remember it with an incredibly sense of nostalgia. To experience a remastered version, imo, would be breathtaking.
