  1. I always make a note to finish my epics, and in the rare case that I don't, I will tell my readers what was going to happen at the end. However, there was one epic I didn't finish that I don't plan on finishing called Shadows of Miserix, and it was just so bad that I decided not to.
  2. Is that mask...painted. but the color scheme has red in it already? I don't see why the mask needed to be painted. I like the design, but the color needs some work, I think you should get rid of the dark gray on the blade, and switch it out for either black or more pearl gray/silver. The sword seems a little bit too wide and long, It'd probably look better if you got rid of all those axle connectors and shortened the whole thing. I do, however, like the way you did the cape, it looks more like a trenchcoat than a cape.
  3. Speaking of which, has he posted anything for that recently? Last I heard, he was on season 4but back to exo-force, I personally thought the storyline was fantastic, the first three books were a little boring, but the 4th book was absolutely fantastic, Ghost of the Past. Man that book was good ;)The set prices were great during that time, which is the only reason I could keep up with buying all the exo-force sets and all the bionicle sets at the same time
  4. This is my first time posting in here, so here goes. I love to draw icons and symbols for stuff, and I've been toying around with the UDD symbol (I restructured my own version of it completely from scratch, along with the word "Bionicle") This is what I've got so far. Also, as you've probably noticed already, I like green and black combos As for the shape that sits inside the letter O, that's my insignia (I call it double-loop infinity, or III). Please give me some feedback about what you like/dislike, and what you think I should change or add?

    Snowfall

This is a very mysterious and intriguing story, I'm very excited to hear the prequel you mentioned. As for the actual writing, you did a very good job of introducing several characters right away, (which I've found is very hard to do, and when done incorrectly, it results in people getting characters mixed up), you gave just enough explanation to each character, without going so in depth that it took up almost the entire story like most people do. Great job.

  7. Hey guys. I am back with another model. I consider this to be one of my best works. It is my representation of the Marendar, or the Toa Killer as some of you may know, as it appears in The Yesterday Quest. (Link in my signature)An explanation about the storyline behind the model: The Marendar has five optical sensors, one on the front, one on the back, one on each side, and one on top, making it so that it has almost 3 dimensional dome vision. It's only blind spot is a small area right behind it's feet. It's weapons array consists of two primary weapons on it's front limbs, and a power dampener sphere launcher on it's tail based off the same technology as the Krahli (the Vahki Predecessors). The black parts on its body are heavy armor, and the silver parts are solid Protosteel, making it's armor almost impenetrable on the black spots, and completely impenetrable by any mortal means on the silver spots. An explanation about designing and building the model: I always imagined the Marendar as more machine-looking than humanoid; as a massive bipedal tank type thing, with knees that had backwards joints in order to hold up its back-centered body weight. I tried to add some gears inside to make it look more mechanical. I personally love the way the silver and the black blend so well together, and at the same time it looks like a massive robot, rather than a humanoid.Sorry about the pictures not being quite the same size. They all link to larger images if you click on 'em. Front and Back Side and Low View Head Closeup and Internal Mechanics A Toa of Psionics slain at the hands of the Marendar
  8. Review Topic Chapter 3 Insuit used his sword to block as a giant club made of rock came down at him. Even though he successfully blocked the attack, it still sent him flying twenty feet across the battlefield, where he struck the wall and fell; stunned from the force of the blow and the impact with the wall.Venomu lowered his club and said, “You need to learn to dodge. You know I’ll always beat you when it comes to raw strength.”The two of them, as well as three other Skrall, were training in the Voroxian Arena, the place where the Sand Tribe had once lived before regressing to the state they were in now, and abandoning the village.Venomu always beat him; he always beat all his opponents for that matter, but every time he fought his leader, he learned a powerful skill that would help him defeat his real enemies. One of the other Skrall, and elite named Fungo, hopped down from his seat and said, “My turn.”He pulled a massive warhammer from his back, and checked that the Thornax Launcher on his shoulder was loaded. He charged at Venomu, bringing his hammer down towards the Skrall leader. Then, in a flash, Venomu blocked it with his shield. Fungo swung again, this time knocking the shield from his leader’s hand. Venomu ducked as Fungo swung a third time, and he pulled his Thornax Launcher off his back. He fired it right at the elite Skrall, and it was sent up into the sky, where it exploded thanks to a quick block from Fungo’s hammer. The elite Skrall launched his own Thornax, and it struck Venomu in the chest. The Skrall leader fell, and dropped his weapons, and then lay very still.Fungo walked over, and raised his weapon above his head, preparing it bring it down.Suddenly, Venomu’s legs lurched outwards, kicking Fungo’s legs out from underneath him, and toppling him. When the elite Skrall’s vision cleared again, Venomu stood over him, his Thornax Launcher pointed straight at his head. Fungo dipped his head in submitance, and then grabbed his hammer.Venomu spoke in a loud voice so that all four of the other Skrall could hear him, “Never expose your chest to your enemy, even when you think he’s down. If he manages to get up again, even the weakest blow from him will topple you.” Fungo nodded, and Venomu continued, “That’s enough training for today. You are growing stronger, and soon we will be ready to take on the group that captured Roxtus. But we cannot do so if we are tired and hungry; so go, and get us food to fill our bellies with, and then we shall rest.”The other four Skrall nodded, and went off in different directions in search of prey… … Metus let out a strange noise; he still hadn’t gotten completely used to being an Agori again, and he kept feeling a strange urge to hiss, which was starting to annoy his companion, a tall black and green leader-class Skrall named Tuma. The two of them had allied, and together had almost defeated the other four tribes, but had failed, and that had resulted in both of them being exiled to the place they sat now, a cave in the mountain range that lay near the place Iconox had once been, before Metus had given away the location of as secret passage to the Skrall and the Bone Hunters. It was quite humiliating; the tribes were now united, and even stronger than before. Metus needed an edge, something that the Glatorian wouldn’t expect. “Good thing that’s exactly what I have.” Said the ex-Iconox Agori… … Matoro turned as a voice called out, “Bone Hunters!”The Toa Mahri of Ice turned to Kopaka, who zoomed in with his telescopic Kanohi Akaku eye, looking in the direction that an Agori of Water was pointing. Kopaka nodded and said, “I’d say there are at least forty of them.”The Agori, whose name was Berix, said, “That must be every single Roxtus Agori heading towards us!”Kopaka suddenly threw up a wall of ice in front of the three of them, and shouted, “Incoming!”Dozens of Thornax flew at the group. One of them struck Kopaka’s ice wall, but Matoro quickly reinforced it. The black Agori mounted atop rock steeds neared the group.Tarix, the lead Glatorian of Tajun, was the first to clash his own blade with a sword wielded by the lead Bone Hunter. The Prime Glatorian of Tajun jumped up and kicked the Agori off his mount, landing on the back of the steed and steering it around to charge back at the oncoming Bone Hunters.Ovea, the second Glatorian of Vulcanus, activated her two flywheel cannons, and sent two Thornax zooming at top speed into the Bone Hunters’ ranks, toppling two of the rock steeds and forcing several others to halt. The Two Thornatus piloted by Perditus and Telza tore into the ranks of the steeds, ramming into their feet to topple them over. One of the Bone Hunters jumped off his mount and landed on the Thornatus piloted by Telza. The Agori sliced through the cockpit with his blade, and prepared to attack the driver. Telza reached back and grabbed his handheld Thornax Launcher, and fired it at the Bone Hunter, sending him flying off, but not before the Agori could stab his blade into the back wheel of the vehicle, causing it to flip over.Tarix rode through the Bone Hunters, umping from steed to steed, picking off the Agori riders one by one.The Bone Hunters realized they were fighting a battle they could not win, and one of them called for a retreat. The remaining twenty-five Bone Hunters returned their mounts around and rode off, but not before launching all their Thornax at Tarix, who had been separated from the rest of the other Glatorian.Kiina screamed, “No; Tarix!” as a dozen of the Thornax struck him, shattering his armor and knocking him off his mount.Kiina rushed to the fallen warrior’s side, but it was already too late, the warrior was dead. Kiina’s eyes burned with anger as she said, “He will be avenged.”She picked up his sword and put it on her back, and before anyone could stop her, she had jumped up on the back of a riderless rock steed, and charged off in the direction that the Bone Hunters had gone…
  9. What would you suggest I add to them? I spent like 30 minutes slaving over those legs and I kind of agree with you
  10. Unfortunatley, I don't have any gray masks, and I actually kind of like the silver since it matches the shields. See, most MOCists have an average of about one or two MOCs per month, whereas I post usually 2-4 every week. So to answer your question, yes, I am the only person who posts in this section
  11. updated model and pictures based off your ideas
  12. This is Venomu, a character that appears in Secrets of the Star. He's a leader class Skrall who leads a second group of Skrall that is separate from the one Tuma led.Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Venomu/venomu_front.jpgBack: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Venomu/venomu_back.jpgTop: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Venomu/venomu_top.jpg
  13. Updated with stretched out version
  14. Alright, so last night I had an urge to use the Pohatu Protosteel boots for something creative, and I came up with this. I think it's probably the most advanced and creative weapon I've made so far, and uses several unique connection points as you can probably see. I haven't built a character yet for it, and I'm not sure when I'll get around to that.EDIT: Updated model based off ideas. Added more silver and armor to the handle, added a piece on the back end to balance it more, as well as some spikes up towards the top end to make it blend in with the other end more.Front: http://www.brickshel...ammer_front.jpgTop: http://www.brickshel...rhammer_top.jpgBottom: http://www.brickshel...mmer_bottom.jpgFront Closeup: http://www.brickshel...hammer_side.jpgBreakdown: http://www.brickshel...r_breakdown.jpg
  15. Alright, so some of you may have seen this MOC I did awhile back, called the Storyteller. I made changes to him based off suggestions given by you guys, and gave him more straight feet (I used Glatorian neck parts instead of the Hordika neck parts), and i made his arms the same length. I decided to add him to my story, and he will be appearing at some point in the near future in Secrets of the Star. I also decided to give him a little group of followers. The two with black hips are guardsmen, and the one with the Volitek is a female character that I'm not sure how will work in with the story. Also, you're probably wondering why I'm calling them Tohunga, instead of Matoran. It is because in my book, Tohunga are a sort of super Matoran, kind of like a Turaga, except they've never been Toa. They have the ability to use their masks and directly channel their powers in small amounts.Front: http://www.brickshel...group_front.jpgBack: http://www.brickshel..._group_back.jpg
  16. I based the Lava Ape as best I could off of the picture, and I think it looks very much like it (if this one looks spider like, then the same would go for the original). Thanks, the Burnak's legs were a real pain to get positioned right, since they're longer than the front ones, but still have to be horizontally even with them.
  17. metru legs are barely any shorter, and I can't stick the gray pieces in them like I do with the Inika legs. Because of the background story for this figure, the entire Toa Mata body is supposed to be bare-looking, and awkward from the side. And on top of that, i couldn't find any parts that would look good attached to the Mata body.
  18. Thanks! I was kind trying to put the head at the same spot as Onua Mata (with the head in the center of the chest part, rather than on top like the other Toa)
  19. This is Ovea, the second Glatorian of Vulcanus, and a character in the Yesterday Quest and Secrets of the Star. She is essentially a more feminine version of Malum. the weapons on her arms are Flywheel-type things that give a spin to the two Thornax Launchers after being fired, and also can be used as melee buzzsaws after her Thornax balls have been used. 22. This is Shardus, the second Glatorian of Iconox, and a character in the Yesterday Quest and Secrets of the Star. I was aiming for a bulky looking character, and decided to try using a different eyecolor since every single Iconox character I've seen built uses blue eyes. So here he is!Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Shardus/shardus_front.jpgBack: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Shardus/shardus_back.jpgTop: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Shardus/shardus_top.jpg

  24. I love this epic, sorry I haven't gotten around to actually posting in the review topic. there are however, a few typos and awkwardly written sentences that could be done better. but you do a fantastic job of describing your characters. I am now certain I know who the Toa is, and I think you kind of gave it away when you mentioned he had golden armor you should reveal his name in the next chapter, since it's getting a little bit boring to have him referred to as simply "the Toa when it's quite obvious who he is now. Just a thought. Keep up the good work, I'm also eager to hear more about the Vorox, he's a nice addition to the team.
  25. So I found a random jewelry case in a freebox at a garage sale, and decided to use it for this. Please don't hate on the fact that it's supposed to be used for jewelry, I think it's a creative idea, and a good way to organize my ammo. I stuck the launchers that wouldn't fit in the drawers on the hangers in the side doors, and all the other ammo and launchers in the 7 drawers. :)If you're wondering why I stuck those few non-transparent Zamor spheres in with the midak skyballs, it's because they match better with them IMO, but I know that they aren't actually Midak ammo...Front: http://www.brickshel...t_full_view.jpgLeft Door; Multi-shot Zamor Sphere Launchers and Midak Skyblasters: http://www.brickshel...b/left_door.jpgRight Door; Cordak Launchers and Nynrah Ghostblasters: http://www.brickshel.../right_door.jpgDrawer 1; Kanoka Disks and Launchers, Tridax Pods and Launcher, and Nynrah GB Ammo: http://www.brickshel...__and_ghost.jpgDrawer 2; Rhotuka Ammo and Launchers: http://www.brickshel...Cab/rhotuka.jpgDrawer 3; Cordak Ammo: http://www.brickshel...-Cab/cordak.jpgDrawer 4; Squid Ammo and Launchers: http://www.brickshel...e-Cab/squid.jpgDrawer 5; Zamor Spheres: http://www.brickshel...e-Cab/zamor.jpgDrawer 6; Midak Skyballs: http://www.brickshel...e-Cab/midak.jpgDrawer 7; Thornax Balls and Launchers: http://www.brickshel...Cab/thornax.jpg
