  2. IC: Aspen/Dahlia Seaton Aspen listened to Zoe's introduction of Esmeralda and broke out into a smile. "Your first Pokemon was a gift from your sister? Haha, that's awesome!" he exclaimed. "That's really thoughtful of her. What was her name, Colette? Yeah, you two must be really close sisters then. Not to mention that Esmeralda is probably the best gift of all time!" the youngest Seaton said with a chuckle, going to pet the Fennekin on the head and scratch her behind the ear. "She seems like a really nice Fennekin. A lot more well-behaved than Vixen for sure, too. And like I said, super adorable!" If there were any aura readers paying attention to Aspen at that moment, they would find that he felt more relaxed and at ease, the pain of his leg injury dulling ever so slightly as he pet the small fox. Aria narrowed her eyes again. "I've recently had a supposed ally attack me. I'm not in the mood to play any games, and I certainly don't appreciate being watched with the assumption that I'm not paying attention as well." the Lucario replied, turning away. "When it's time for us to interact more, you will find out who exactly I am. I wouldn't say now is that time, however." Dahlia walked inside the hospital room and looked around. She blinked at the new faces of Colette, Jayron, and his Lucario, but put on a smile regardless. "H-hello all. My name's Dahlia Seaton, and I'm the Heroine of Reverse." she said to the newcomers. "The sister of Aspen Seaton there. And this here's my fellow hero, Jamie." the middle Seaton introduced, and looked to notice people missing from the room. "...I don't think we have everyone here. Any idea where they all went?"
  3. IC: Aspen Seaton "Huh? Oh. My leg." Aspen said. "So on the way here, the captain of the boat we were all on tried to hold us hostage to deliver him to... Some company he works for? I-I'm not too sure on that. Anyways, he sent out his Pinsir to the kitchen room where I was, and um, that happened." the boy explained, gesturing to his leg. "Yeah. That's how I'm stuck in this hospital bed." Flare smiled cheerfully and nodded at Esmeralda, telling her that it sounded like she and her trainer were having fun. Then Zoe came over which prompted the Quilava to give another friendly bark and walk up to the Llyan girl. The fire weasel nodded at Terry and turned back to the Fennekin, saying that her trainer seemed like a nice person. Aria turned towards Jayron's Lucario surprisingly fast, raising an eyebrow. "And just what are you trying to look for?" she questioned, crossing her arms and shaking her head. "Come on now. Do you really think I had any ulterior motive for my actions just now? Just because of that Ryan boy's reaction? He's been quite on edge as of late." the Lucario pointed out. "You aren't going to find anything, so you may as well give up while you're ahead." The youngest Seaton's eyes followed Terry as he wandered over near Flare nearby Zoe and Esmeralda. Once again he smiled and chuckled. "Is that Fennekin yours? She's adorable." Aspen asked Zoe, smiling. "Looks like Flare likes the both of you." he said, watching Flare brush up against the Llyan's leg and look up with a cheerful bark. IC: Lachina Adaon Lachina flinched as Mercury and Anubis lashed out at the guardsmen, but took a quick breath to steel herself. The Pokemon who she had recruited had accidentally been left outside, so for now it was just her and Aolani. "Hope those little guys are doing alright outside." she muttered, shaking her head. Then Mercury made his next comment, leaving the Ranger confused. "What are you...? Oh. Please tell me it's not that. If it is, this isn't going to end well at all..."
  4. IC: Aspen Seaton "Not a problem, Ms. Llyan. Thank you for your kind words." said Aria, turning to Ryan afterwards. "What were you expecting me to do? I'm not a monster, you know." the Lucario scoffed, rolling her eyes. Flare looked at the newcomer Fennekin and smiled at Esmeralda's introduction. He introduced himself in kind and explained how Aspen's trainer led them to the hospital wing of the Alamo, and briefly went over how they were to be part of the search team. The Quilava frowned uncertainly for a moment, but shrugged it off and asked Zoe's Pokemon how she was faring. Saya looked up at Paul uncertainly, breathing a tiny sigh of relief that he quickly turned his attention elsewhere. The Eevee was still on edge from these unfamiliar people and Pokemon in the room, curling up into a ball to try and remain invisible. She wasn't aware that the aura readers knew all she was feeling at the moment, due to her singleminded focus on trying to remain inconspicuous. Meadow shook her head and chirped to get Aspen's attention, trying to get the young boy to rest some more. It was too late however, and Aspen rubbed his eyes before accepting Paul's cup of water. "Thanks Mr. Burks. My leg's definitely pretty messed up..." he replied with a rasp, downing the water after he was done talking. The youngest Seaton looked around at the newcomers some more, clearing his throat. "Uh, yeah. I was uh, supposed to help find Ellen and all, but then this happened. Sorry about that. Wish I could be of some assistance but I'm definitely pretty out of comission..." he lamented. Aspen's expression lit up however when he looked to see Flare conversing with a Fennekin. "Who's that, Flare? Made a new friend?" he asked, his face beaming at the sight of the Fox Pokemon. IC: Olivia Seaton Olivia Seaton arrived at Nimbasa with no trouble, and quickly made her way to the Desert Resort. Along the way she was accompanied by Amethyst walking just behind her trainer, Heather accompanying the red-haired Rocket on her shoulder, and Bree resting in the arms of her 'mama'. She didn't have time to sightsee however, for she was too busy trying to reach her best friend once again, determined not to lose her for another four years. And yet when it became clear that the young Torchic was having trouble in the arid conditions of the desert, the eldest Seaton looked down in concern. "This sand's been really bothering you, hasn't it? Sorry about that Bree, you'll have to sit out the rest of the trip." she said. The small fire chick looked up with disappointment upon seeing the Pokeball, but Olivia still recalled the Torchic. "Bree's been pretty confused lately." Amethyst spoke up. "She knows that Chloe hasn't been around and while she loves you, it doesn't feel right without the two of you." "I know. That's why I have to get back to Chloe as soon as I can." the eldest Seaton replied, shaking her head. "Right after Chloe disappears, Aspen gets his leg broken and Dahlia's powers go haywire. My family's falling apart and I can't do a single thing about it. I can't even keep Bree happy..." The Gardevoir paused, and put a hand on Olivia's shoulder. "Sometimes these things are just out of our control. Everyone gets blindsided in their lives, and Dahlia and Aspen are way far off. This isn't worth beating yourself up over." she said reassuringly. "We're gonna find Chloe and figure out how to use the cards we were dealt. That's about all we can do." The trainer sighed. "You're right, I just... Things were so close to being right again. I felt like I was able to lower my guard... And then this happens. Now I'm stuck wading through the desert trying to find my best friend again while people from here give me the stink-eye for being a foreigner." Olivia growled in frustration. "When will the struggle end?" "Nobody knows. The only place to go from here is forward." Amethyst replied. "I understand your anger, at least a bit. I've got someone I wish I could see again, though I dunno how much he would miss me to be honest..." the Gardevoir muttered to herself quietly. "Whatever. Basically, it sucks we can't do anything about this, but that's just reason to try harder to right things. There isn't any space to get discouraged here." Olivia took a deep breath and nodded. "You're right, Am. Just have to keep on trucking. Now where were we supposed to head..."
  5. Planet Robobot is a good. Best final boss in a Kirby game, bar none.

  6. IC: Aspen Seaton Meadow turned around and quietly scolded those who had come in for being too loud. Her efforts were in vain however, as Aspen groaned and attempted to get up. His efforts were stopped partway by a jolting pain running up through his leg, causing the youngest Seaton to wince visibly and lay back down. He took several deep breaths and instead slowly shifted on his side to prop himself up with his elbow, turning his head towards the people in front of his bed. "H-hello...?" he croaked, clearing his throat afterwards. "Who are...? I-I'm Aspen. Liberty agent and uh, yeah. Does anyone have some water? I'm parched..." Torrent turned around and raised an eyebrow at the other folks. He wasn't in the mood to brag about his abilities and so instead observed the new group with a raised eyebrow. Jet joined him in this, turning his head around from his perched position to glare warily at the newcomers. Flare on the other hand was much friendlier and walked up to them, barking a greeting. Saya let out a startled squeak when she heard people talk, and froze up for a moment upon seeing these strangers. The Eevee then curled up while on her chair, trying to look inconspicuous. Aria on the other hand turned her head towards Zoe, raising an eyebrow. "I am indeed a Lucario, yes. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Aria, currently a part of Aspen Seaton's team. And I believe you would be... Zoe Llyan, yes?" the Lucario said, her green-grey eyes being unreadable to those around her. Subtly she turned her gaze to Colette and Jayron and leered mysteriously, as if daring them to read her aura. She instantly turned back to the youngest Llyan however and pushed herself off the wall. "A shame you do not possess aura abilities like your sister does. Perhaps you would be allowed to accompany us as well if that were the case, but then again, such is life." The Lucario lifted a hand and her eyes glowed blue, as Aria plucked a lollipop from a nearby open jar sitting on a windowsill. "Fair warning though, people have told me I'm... Quite unlike other Lucario they've met. Well usually they don't say it flat out, but that's the sentiment I get from almost everyone I encounter. Evidently I'm just very unnerving." she muttered, telekinetically lifting the lollipop to her paw. "You like sweets, yes? Here you are." Aria said, tossing the confection to Zoe, her face betraying no emotion even then.
  7. Just beat the main storyline of Planet Robobot. If you thought Triple Deluxe was a good game, oh boy does this one blow it out of the water. Especially that final boss. Don't think there's ever been such a grand and epic final boss in the series ever, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they top this one.
  8. IC: Dahlia Seaton The middle Seaton watched as doctors wheeled Aspen away on a bed. The last she saw of her brother before he was wheeled away, he wore a pained expression on his face. Dahlia stood lost in her own thoughts, and it was several minutes before she realized a good chunk of the group had left to do their own things. Muttering something about needing to use the bathroom, Dahlia quickly ducked out of the hospital room. Once she managed to actually find a bathroom, the gardener splashed some water on her face to try and snap herself out of her funk. Ryan had told her she shouldn't blame herself for what she had done to the Pinsir. And yet Sylph had also pointed out a detail she couldn't just ignore: she had let her abilities control her actions. Dahlia mulled it over, wondering how she could even begin to rectify this issue. "I know you're watching." Dahlia said suddenly, looking at the bathroom mirror. "I know you saw what happened to me back on the boat too. Isn't that right, Mr. Giratina?" At Dahlia's words, a ghostly image of the dragon deity appeared on the surface of the mirror. "Indeed I am." he said. "Very perceptive, Miss Seaton. I can also see you are quite distressed, even after talking with that Ryan boy." The gardener shifted about and twiddled her fingers. "I-I just don't understand what I'm supposed to do from here. It was one of my first big chances to be a hero, and I blew it. Not only did I fail to save my brother, but I couldn't control my power... Instead it took complete control of me..." She lowered her eyes with a sigh and listened to the rhythmic dripping of the water in the sink. "What even happened there, anyways? Everyone just keeps saying I wasn't myself." "Your righteous fury awoke the power of the Renegade." the ruler of the Distortion Realm replied. "I am impressed. Such power does not usually manifest itself this early, if at all, in those who have been granted the power of Reverse. It shows the reservoir of strength and will that lies within you." "I-I mean yeah, but I scared everyone, and also almost destroyed the boat. I didn't think about activating my powers, and I can't even remember what I did during the battle..." Tears started to well up in Dahlia's eyes. "If I can't control this power, I could just end up being a liability to everyone, or worse a danger! Where am I supposed to go from here??" "Never despair, Dahlia Seaton. I chose you for your indomitable will and your steadfastness in what you believe. These powers may be hard to control at the moment, but that is not any reason to give up." The Renegade Pokémon's voice was gruff but reassuring. "You have been granted my power because I know you can rise to the challenge and become a true Heroine of Reverse." For a few moments the only sound was the dripping water marking time. At last, Dahlia gave a small nod. "Alright. I promise I won't give up. Everyone may be scared of me now, but I'll just have to win back their trust and prove to them that I can learn to control these powers. Thank you, Mr. Giratina." "I should be thanking you for taking on such a heavy responsibility." Giratina said. "But now it is time for me to depart. Your friends seek your presence. Until we speak again." The gardener watched Giratina's image disappear from the mirror. In its place, she saw her own tired eyes staring back at her. She was surprised just how much of her fatigue showed in her face. But at the same time, her deep blue eyes were brimming with a quiet determination. She gave herself a smile before turning away. As the gardener walked back out into the hallway she pushed her doubts and fears aside. She was ready to face the new day.

  10. IC: Dahlia Seaton Dahlia walked the halls of the boat after being cleared by the doctor, with downcast spirits. Guilt wracked her mind over how she had let her Reverse abilities take over, even if it was in response to Aspen being hurt. I signed up for this, but... Do I have the strength to keep these powers in check? The middle Seaton turned a corner and stood in front of Ryan's room. Evidently his Flaafy was the one to stop her from tearing apart the vessel with her dark powers. She so desperately wanted to apologize for what she had done, but when she knocked on the door, there was no response. As she sighed and turned though, the gardener saw Ryan coming down the hall himself, and froze. "...R-Ryan!" she stuttered, suddenly sweating nervously. "I... I'm sorry, I just wanted to say, f-for scaring you like that..."
  11. OOC: Jam with Merc, whoo hoo. IC: Dahlia Seaton/Sylph Dahlia stirred in her bed, groaning as she slowly opened her eyes. She didn't recognize her surroundings and gasped, jumping up. Ryan and Aspen were in beds of their own room, and Sylph appeared to be comforting Saya, the Eevee sitting in her lap while looking directly at the youngest Seaton. "Sylph...??" she croaked. Dahlia coughed, and gripped her head. "What... I-I can't remember a thing... I saw Aspen h-hurt, and then everything went dark..." The Gardevoir looked up as Dahlia awoke. She continued peting the Eevee in her lap as she spoke. Giratina's power overtook you when you saw your brother had been injured. You were . . . rather angry. Take a drink, and I'll try to explain what happened, though it all happened a bit fast. "Over... Wha?" she replied confusedly. Dahlia looked to the side and grabbed the cup of water. After parching her thirst, the gardener turned back to Sylph. "W-what do you mean by Giratina's power...? I got angry? Wha...?" Sylph began to explain what had transpired after Dahlia had entered the kitchen. When you began to glow, I decided it would be best to try ending things, but you didn't notice. You sent the Pinsir through the ceiling. I'm not going to say it was heroic. It wasn't. It was, however, impressive, and you did it out of love for your brother. I think you may need to talk with Tierra and that other girl, see if there is a way to put a limit on how much sway the power has over you. Dahlia listened, her eyes widening with shock. "I-I-I'm sorry, I... I didn't mean to..." A lump formed in the gardener's throat. How could she have gone so out of control? What would the others say to her? She looked over at Aspen, questioning if she had even helped at all. "U-um... Should I go?" Sylph shook her head, smiling softly. You need to recover as well. It drained you, and then Ampere hit you with an electric attack. You should stay here and rest up until the medical officer says otherwise. Speaking of, I should go inform him that you are awake. "No no, I'm fine." Dahlia said, even though her head was splitting at the moment. The gardener pushed herself off the bed and went to stand up, looking over at Sylph. "I'll be alright, I promise..." The Gardevoir shook her head. We'll leave that for the doctor to say. For now, just relax. She lifted Saya, setting her in the chair as she herself stood to walk out. I'm begining to see that it's not just the men on this ship who are stubborn... "Could you be a little less stubborn maybe?!" Dahlia snapped. Then she paused, and went silent. She had ended up in this position by losing her patience after all... And here she was again, already losing her patience. The gardener went back to lay down on the bed and sighed, struggling to make sense of what was happening and trying desperately to recall what she had done to the Pinsir. "What's happening to me...?" Sylph paused as Dahlia shouted at her. She glanced over her shoulder, frowning softly. You are learning that your power, like all, has a price. You have to figure out how to control it, or it will surely control you. Rest your eyes. You aren't leaving this room until you've been cleared to go by the doctor. Dahlia stared up at the ceiling with a contemplative look, and closed her eyes. "I'll... I'll rest my eyes." she decided, and sighed. "Sorry for all this, Sylph..." Do not be. You did not ask to be chosen. With that, the psychic type left the room, thinking sad thoughts and wondering what price some people would pay.
  12. IC: Aria "Time will flow!" To Aria, it was as if Gnip suddenly blinked out of existence. The Lucario's eyes widened in shock, having only barely registered the drop in temperature from earlier. Did that girl really just do that...?? she questioned. Aria had a much more pressing issue, however. Without Gnip to strike, she was unable to halt her forward momentum, and about to launch herself right off the vessel... "Rats." IC: Aspen/Dahlia Seaton Aspen's pain had been eased quite literally by the assistance of Sylph, with the younger sibling holding back his tears and speaking in shaky voice. "S-Saya... The others... Please k-keep them safe..." he pleaded holding the Eevee close to his chest. "Please, Sylph..." Dahlia continued forward, not registering Ryan's fear, Sylph's offer of mercy, or anything else that was going on in the room. Her focus was strictly on the Pinsir in front of her, who she was about to run straight into... And the Heroine of Reverse was cloaked in shadows, her form melting away into darkness. She had for all intents and purposes, disappeared from the scene. Before long though, a black vortex appeared on the floor behind the Stag Beetle Pokemon, with Dahlia rising out of it. Her entire body was made up of smoky darkness, the only distinct feature being her pure red eyes glowing with malevolent and eldritch power. The demonic wings on her back split into spiked tendrils. When Dahlia spoke in a distorted, low voice, it was a single short phrase. "For my brother." The tendrils on her back lashed out and immediately began slashing away at Jack's Pinsir mercilessly. The Champion of Reverse did not relent during her assault one single bit, with red talons raking her foe from all angles. When it seemed like there would be no respite, it ended. In some act of mercy, Dahlia struck the Pinsir with a final upwards slash, sending the Pokemon crashing through the ceiling onto the deck above, unconscious but alive. Afterwards, the shadows grew larger still, and the dark shape of the heroine of Reverse gripped her head as the energy kept increasing. Everything in the kitchen began to shake as the swirling vortex of reverse began clearly rising out of the new hole above the room. "Hnnngh... Gah..." she groaned, clearly having trouble reining in her powers. If something didn't happen soon, it seemed as though Dahlia would tear apart the boat with her reverse abilities...
  13. IC: Aspen/Dahlia Seaton The sickening crunch happened so quick. Aspen's breath cut away, and though he tried, he couldn't stifle his scream. Pain engulfed his leg and the youngest Seaton attempted to fight back the tears as best as he could. But even through all this, he held Saya close to him to shield her from the Pinsir's wrath. He was almost useless now, but at least he could protect the Eevee and keep her safe. Dahlia heard the scream, causing her blood to run cold. No no no no no no no... she thought, hurrying her running. She and Asriel ran through the hall and came up on the hall, looking through the broken down door to see Jack's Pinsir bombarded with attacks from two Togekiss. Aspen lay on the floor, his leg bent horribly out of shape. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO The gardener's knees nearly buckled, and she gripped the sides of her head in disbelief. How could she have been so slow? Why hadn't she made sure her brother was safe beforehand? Then inside of her, something unchained. And she felt emotion she hadn't felt in a very, very long time... Anger. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!" Dahlia hunched over briefly, with an aura of dark black smoke forming around her feet, swirling around the middle Seaton. A portion of the smoke formed into two shadowy wings behind her back with wicked red talons, and when she raised her head, her skin was deathly pale, her eyes turned a deep dark red. Asriel was taken aback by this sudden transformation, but his trainer seemed to lose focus on anything else as she turned towards the Stag Beetle Pokemon, slowly raising a finger at him. "I will make you pay." was all she said, before preparing to rush at the Pokemon who had dared harm her little brother. IC: Aria Aspen's screams reached Aria's ears, and she shook her head after Jack talked in his nonplussed voice. "You've brought a great deal of harm to one of the passengers of your vessel, and you also have the gall to act like you are in control? Wrong decision, captain." the Lucario said, suddenly jerking the captain down onto the deck of the boat facefirst, hard. "I'm not going to say this twice. Call off your Pinsir, now. Take us to our designated location, and let yourself be turned into the local authorities. Otherwise I shall take matters into my own hand, regardless of if I lose the moral high ground or not. You've hurt one of our own, and remember-you are in a very unfavorable position right now. Act intelligently."
  14. IC: Aspen Seaton Saya ran across the kitchen with Aspen struggling to keep up with her. "Saya, please, the others are going to make things right, please calm down..." he pleaded, but it wasn't any use. The Eevee pressed against the ground and cried in fear, with Aspen stopping a few inches away with a disheartened look on his face. Then Togie and Orihime arrived in the kitchen, frightening Saya anew. She immediately turned around to run away, only to see that Aspen was on the other side, and began whimpering. "I think Jack's doing something above deck, whatever it is, I can't calm Saya down..." Aspen explained to the Togekiss as the boat shook and crashed. "Please, if you can help in any way, we have to hurr-" As the youngest Seaton spoke, the door was broken down by a Pinsir. The Stag Beetle Pokemon had a savage look in its eyes, and it was very clear that something had gone very, very wrong. IC: Dahlia Seaton Asriel detected ahead of time the utter failure that was about to occur, but he couldn't do anything as Quil slammed into him, dazing the two of them. Luckily it wasn't long for the Swampert and Ditto to be swiftly taken care of, meaning that things worked out okay in the end. That is however, until Jack ordered his Pinsir to take a hostage, and Jenny pointed out how not everyone was there on the boat. "Wait... No..." Dahlia said, her eyes widening. The Absol stood up after clearing his head, and looked at the others intently, barking to get their attention. He then ran off down the stairs inside the boat, with the rest of the Pokemon following. Dahlia stood there still frozen however, refusing to believe what she was suspected was going to happen... "Your brother is in danger, that's what the Absol is trying to tell you." Aria cut in. "Stop standing there slack-jawed and help him!" "I... I..." Dahlia stammered, the worry causing her knees to become weak. "Aspen, please hold on!" she cried, running down the stairs. The Lucario shook her head at the middle Seaton's hesitation, but then turned to Jack. "Oh, but there is you, the traitorous captain that must be dealt with." she said, immobilizing him with a psychic grip. "You will call off your Pinsir and deliver us to our intended location, or so help Arceus, I will toss you overboard to flounder in the open water." Aria threatened, lifting him off his feet to make a point. "I'll simply scan your mind on how to operate this vessel and share it with the others when you're gone. You are in a very disadvantageous position here, Jack... I hope you choose to make the right choice."
  15. IC: Dahlia Seaton Dahlia's eyes widened more, and she shook her head. "S-so you're with Ford??" she stammered. The gardener wasn't prepared for another crisis on the boat so soon after the one from yesterday. She could only hope the others would be okay this time... Asriel growled as he jumped to the side of the Pinsr's X-Scissor, attempting to follow up with a Night Slash of his own. He knew he was at a major type disadvantage here, and that any Bug-move from the opponent Pokemon could prove devastating. Coco focused on the Ditto and leaped upwards, aiming to take out the blob with a Bounce, to fulfill the vendetta she already held against the last Ditto the Buneary encountered. Laurel nodded at Missy and followed up with a Magical Leaf of her own, hoping to defuse the situation quickly. Aria closed her eyes for a moment, and suddenly held her arm out, jerking it up after the Magical Leaves entered the water. "Where do you think you're going?" she said, pulling the Pokemon back onto the boat and holding it there. Jet saw his chance and dived after the Swampert, lashing out with his talons and attempting to strike Jack's team member with a Crush Claw.
  16. IC: Aspen Seaton Aspen sat at the kitchen table, enjoying a nice meal with his Pokemon. Evidently Dahlia was busy with some form of training with Ryan, leaving the groggy and tired boy to cook his own breakfast, miraculously not burning down the kitchen as he did so. He stuffed some egg in his mouth, not being as good as his sister's work but still a decent attempt and a nice way to start the morning. The youngest Seaton sipped some tea, hoping it would work as an eye-opener for the tired young trainer. The team each had a bowl of poffins to chow down on, and most found it a welcome start to the morning. Even Jet, the quiet and aggressive Braviary, happily snacked on his bowl, snarfing up Poffins with as much eagerness as Flare, Torrent, and Meadow. Two Pokemon however, went against the grain. Aria leaned against a wall, popping a Poffin into her mouth once in a while, chewing slowly. Meanwhile Saya sat an even greater distance away from the team and slowly nibbled away at her food, trying to remain unnoticed. That didn't work out however, as the Lucario turned her attention to the small brown fox, and raised an eyebrow. "Intriguing. You fear humans and yet cannot bear to be seen by your Pokemon brethren." she muttered, causing Saya to bolt up in surprise. "You shy away, try to make yourself invisible. But why? It is not Pokemon who have traumatized you, and yet you still refuse to believe you can integrate with us. I wonder..." Saya started hyperventilating, and backed up against the wall, ears pressed flat against her head. That didn't deter the Lucario however, who stepped closer. "I wonder, is it part of your past that has made you this way? Or was this crippling lack of confidence within you from the start? Perhaps I should find out." "That's enough, Aria." Aspen interjected with a growl. He winced Saya's state, the poor fox being reduced to a whimpering apologetic mess. The trainer shook his head at the Lucario, and sighed. "Look, I don't think your strategy is really helping Saya out. I'll figure something out, okay? I just need some more-" Suddenly a bloodcurdling scream sounded above the deck, causing everyone in the kitchen to freeze. "...What the...?" Aspen muttered, baffled. "It's Jack. He's gone rogue." Aria replied, her eyes glowing blue. "He's armed and Ryan Hikari's suffered a major injury to the arm." Aspen blinked, and closed his eyes. "Of all the times for things to go wrong..." His thoughts were interrupted by a panicking Saya who darted past his leg. The youngest Seaton ran quickly after her, turning back to his Pokemon. "Go above deck and help! I'll be there once I have Saya calmed down!" he exclaimed. "As you wish." muttered the Lucario, dashing into the hallway, the rest of Aspen's team in hot pursuit.
  17. OOC: Blade wanted a jam, I said yes. Here it is! IC: Dahlia Seaton Dahlia Seaton smiled as Ryan disappeared, but was then hit by a wave of exhaustion herself. The middle Seaton dragged herself to her room and collapsed on the bed. She lay there for a while, digesting the information that she had absorbed from all of today, and sighed. Without really anything else she could do in that moment, Dahlia opened up her Pokegear and scrolled through her contacts. Her eyes widened at the "Taylor" who appeared in her list. "The artist..." she recalled, eyes widening. The gardener quickly typed out a message, trying to see if she was there. It seemed at first that there would be no reply. However, soon enough, a response appeared, confirming that the girl was, in fact, there. Dahlia quickly typed out a response to that, asking the artist how she had been doing lately. At that moment the gardener thought she could use a distraction from the confusion from today. "I've been fine." Taylor replied. "How about you? We're getting close to where we need to get to, did you manage to do what you needed to?" "Not exactly... A lot's happened since we last talked." Dahlia replied, hestitating. How could she possibly condense the events of the last few days? And the Reverse powers... Taylor would think the gardener insane after the end of things. "Oh? A lot? Like what?" The curiosity seemed apparent even in text form. Dahlia hesitated, and sighed. "I got superpowers from Giratina, the boat was swarmed with wild Pokemon, and a friend willingly let himself be kidnapped." she sent out, hoping Taylor wouldn't just give up right there. "Giratina? Kidnapped? Are you alright?" The reply sounded a bit worried. "That definitely does sound like a lot has happened!" "I'm alright." Dahlia responded, thinking about what she should say next. "Hopefully things are easier from here." "Hopefully... But wow, you met Giratina? That sounds cool! And admittedly I think it'd be a little scary, but it sounds like you handled that well." "Mr. Giratina's very nice actually. He made me his chosen Heroine of Reverse." Dahlia explained. "I'm going to have to train a lot from now on." "Oh wow... that sounds like a big job! Congrats; hope everything goes well there, at least." The reply sounded happy, and even had some happy emotes at the end to help show that. "Thanks." Dahlia replied. "Thanks for listening, just wanted to talk to someone after how hectic things have been." "You're welcome. I know how listening can be helpful; especially if in a stressful situation like it sounds you were in! I hope you find your friend, though, and that ends well!" "Thank you! Good luck to whatever you are doing too!" Dahlia replied, with Taylor thanking her one last time. Talking to someone about what had just happened, even briefly, helped her process what had happened that day, and gave her the confidence to keep going forward.
  18. IC: Lachina Adaon Lachina looked over at what Mercury and Anubis were going on about, shrugging afterwards. She hadn't ever been specially taught in infiltrating heavily guarded bases and was much more at home spending her times in the grassy environment outside of Vermilion. In fact, she saw several Pokemon nearby and smiled. "Hold on for a moment." the Ranger said, preparing the Capture Styler on her left arm. With a few quick swipes of her arms, Lachina was soon surrounded by several different Pokemon. A Pidgey rested on her hand while a Jigglypuff bounced over to her feet, and an Oddish scurried over as well. She smiled when looking back at her new friends and seemed to not focus on the other group in that moment. Even though she was out of uniform, Lachina was happy to be acting like a proper Pokemon Ranger once more.
  19. IC: Aspen/Dahlia Seaton Aspen watched on as Ray apologized to them and turned to the charming face known as McKinley. He couldn't understand why any of this was happening, the youngest Seaton growled in frustration, he knew it was pointless to stand up to the mysterious agent and Ray was still going to join the enemy. It was hopeless. Dahlia winced when McKinley began laughing. The jeering shrieks caused the gardener's spirits to plummet, and the way he treated the situation as a game left her speechless. The middle Seaton looked down and cursed herself for not being able to do anything. If only her Reverse powers were more developed! And yet even if she could touch McKinley, the Xatu and Sigilyph would ensure she would pay the price. "...Bye Ray." Dahlia muttered under her breath solemnly, as he and McKinley began to warp away. Then it struck. The youngest Seaton nearly jumped in the air when he first heard that startled squawk from the Xatu. If it wasn't clear something was off from that, the Pokemon's wing and McKinley's eye gushed blood, the agent of Ford looking nearly about to let out a bloodcurdling cry of pain... And then they were gone. Whereas normally Aspen might have screamed and ran back into the boat, he was paralyzed from the utter shock of what he witnessed. Dahlia found herself staring at the evidence left behind of McKinley's presence, silently horrified. All she knew was that something had interrupted the agent's clean getaway, but she had no idea what. Right now, the gardener simply stared at the eye and wing, with only the crashing waves to fill the silence. Asriel quickly glanced at the remnants on the deck of the boat, allowing a small grin. It was clear from the beginning that there was no way to stop McKinley from taking Ray, for a battle would have damaged the vessel beyond repair at the very least. But now, the Absol made sure to leave the Ford agent with a parting gift, the spoils of the encounter serving as a grim reminder of the consequences of underestimation.
  20. IC: Dahlia Seaton Coco hopped over besides Terry and tried to get his attention and convince the Herdier to stand down. Meanwhile, many of the Seaton's Pokemon were at a loss for what to do once most of the Water Pokemon had fled. They stood in place and watched McKinley and his team warily, unsure of what to make of this new arrival. Dahlia couldn't make out what was happening. All this time, Ray had willingly joined the opposing side, and everyone already knew? "...Y-you..." she muttered, staring in confusion at Ray. "So... You're gonna fight us. I... I see. Hmm." the middle Seaton said quietly, looking down. "Hmm..." "He's betraying us? Why does everyone know about this already?!" Aspen said, just as lost as his sister. The youngest Seaton wondered just how out of the loop he was compared to the others, and how that would affect him moving forward. "...Alright then Ray. If this is really how things will go from now, don't think I won't defend myself if you go after me or the people that matter to me. Remember that then, will ya? For your own good." he warned Ray, staring warily at the orange-haired Separtist. As the others were discussing among themselves what to do as McKinley grinned in cruel amusement, Asriel stood tall and looked towards the Deoza agent without a hint of fear. The expression the Absol wore was one of defiance, the wind blowing his pure white coat to the side. He stood in one place, waiting as his piercing crimson eyes watched over the situation.
  21. IC: Dahlia/Aspen Seaton Coco yelped when she was pushed out of the way by Terry, having not even noticed the dazed and lost Bisharp wreaking havoc against his allies. She watched as a Milotic tossed the Herdier aside and suddenly took control over the Sword Blade Pokemon and tossed him aside. The Buneary leaped forward with an Agility to close the gap near instantly and uppercutted her opponent upwards with a fist crackling with electricity. The serpentine foe came down, and she was ready for that as well, launching forward with a Jump Kick and watching the Milotic sail away. Dracos was luckily nearby and very helpfully smacked the Milotic whirling in the air with a Dragon Tail. He watched as the also-serpentine opponent sailed off the deck into the water along with many other Pokemon. After a moment of deliberation, Dracos concluded electric attacks were safe given Xander was now out of the water, and so launched a Thunderbolt down into the water where the Milotic had fell down into, the electricity obviously spreading throughout the area around them. Laurel cried out in pain from the surprise attack by Paul's Bisharp, leaving her vulnerable in that crucial moment. The Gastrodon she was locked in combat with took advantage of this situation and lobbed a Mud Bomb at the Bellossom, knocking her away. She got up to see that her opponent was readying another Body Slam, and so gathered a storm of leaves around her the closer the sea slug got, launching a Leaf Storm at point blank range and instantly fainting her opponent right then and there. Torrent flopped on his back, having been delivered a beating by the larger Floatzel. The latter Pokemon prepared to finish him off with a Crunch, but was unexpectedly slammed into the side by Flare in a Wild Charge. This stunned the Sea Weasel Pokemon long enough for Torrent to hop back to his feet and ram into his opponent once again with an Aqua Jet. Meadow was getting quite sick of people boarding the vessel and scattered Toxic Spikes on the front to give an unwelcome entrance to more feral Pokemon. She saw Togie crash onto the deck however, and rushed over to help up the Togekiss. Dahlia's eyes widened as she saw Evan get injured badly, and wondered how he could still stand afterwards. Soon her worry worsened when she saw the Gyarados rush towards Ray, and quite audibly gasped. "Look out!" she cried, even though it was much too late for the Separtist to react. Something seemed to protect him however, and the assailant was dragged down into the depths with a sickening crunch, leaving the gardener pale. Then a mysterious man appeared on the deck to help Ray up, leaving her confused. "H-huh?! Who... Who are you, what is happening?!" she cried, totally lost on everything. Asriel growled at the Politoed who boarded the ship, launching a Psycho Cut at a nearby group of them. The Absol was forced back however, when several of them used Hyper Voice, and he attempted to find a way around them. Nutmeg quickly came to his assistance, launching a Razor Leaf at the side of the frogs, distracting them for a crucial moment. Asriel reared back and jumped forward, slashing the group with a Night Slash, pushing the Politoed back far away enough for the Absol to suddenly register McKinley's presence. His fur went on end, with the Absol clearly able to tell this new arrival had less than pure intentions. Something told him the Xatu was going to be a problem, however, simply rushing forward would be an unwise choice. Rather, he had a quick glint in his eyes and prepared a Future Sight behind the psychic, hoping it would provide an opportune moment for those on the boat. Aspen struggled to keep Saya in his arms, but still he was baffled by the recent turn of events. Ryan, Paul, and Xander all seemed to react strongly to the mysterious figure with the Xatu, confusing him for a moment. "McKinley...?" the youngest Seaton muttered confusedly, wondering what was happening.
  22. IC: Dahlia/Aspen Seaton Coco smiled when she saw the Poliwrath get launched upwards into the air. The Buneary immediately followed up with another upwards Thunder Punch, this time knocking the Water-type even further up in the air. To finish off her juggle, she Bounced up in the air and aimed downwards with a Jump Kick, sending her opponent plummeting off the ship towards an approaching school of Sharpedo, with the Rabbit Pokemon springboarding off safely and landing on the SS Coral. However, a Seismitoad ran at her from the side with a Drain Punch, with Coco turning to face her new opponent and running forth with her own Ice Punch prepared. Asriel lept forth at the Jellicent, only for the Pokemon to use Acid Armor and turn its body into an extremely dense liquid, with his attack being deflected and the Absol left buffeted. The Floating Pokemon took advantage of this to Constrict him and slowly squeeze tighter on him. Asriel struggled valiantly, lashing out with Night Slash after Night Slash until the tentacles gripping him had their shape disrupted long enough for the Disaster Pokemon to break free. While his opponent scrambled to solidify once more, the Absol launched a Razor Wind and moved in once more. Nutmeg was pleased to find that the Alomomola was struck by her Razor Leaf and turned away when the Pokemon began to approach the ship from a different angle. The Turtwig wanted to try out her new trick some more and fired a high-speed leaf at the fleeing Gyarados, ignoring the large discrepancy in power and the wrath it could wreak on the vessel. Meanwhile, Laurel being preoccupied with the Pokemon in the water made it the perfect opportunity for a nearby Gastrodon to Body Slam the Bellossom. She cried out in pain, but recovered quickly, turning around and retaliating with a Leaf Blade, watching as the two of them healed, the Gastrodon with Recover and Laurel with Synthesis. Dracos had succeeded in angering nearby Swanna, with three of them diving down with an Aerial Ace at the Dragonair. The elegant Pokemon scoffed and whipped them out of the air with a Dragon Tail, conveniently sending them straight into an Eelektross who had just boarded the ship. Dahlia looked around with a frown, grimacing every time the boat was rocked. "No... What do we do..." she muttered, too wracked with worry to join her fellow heros in their battle cries. Nearby was a group of agitated Staryu and Starmie who began getting too close for comfort towards her and the others. "Gerri, Signal Beam!" the gardener cried out, releasing the Surskit onto the deck. The Pond Skater Pokemon glared at her opponents and blasted as many Water-Psychic types as she could with Signal Beam. Aria ran forth at the Barbaracle with an Extreme Speed while her opponent moved in with a Cross Chop. Their attacks collided and left both Pokemon staggered, though before her opponent could pull off a Rock Polish, Aria lashed out with Close Combat and finished by punching it off the SS Coral and into a gathering swarm of Basculin. She observed the Mantine Togie had set his sights on with a Sky Attack and decided to assist, with her eyes glowing blue. Said Mantine was suddenly pulled straight into the Togekiss' revenge strike. Flare struck the Dewgong with his Wild Charge, causing the Pokemon to wail out in pain and slide away. Before it came to a stop, the Pokemon unleashed an Aurora Beam at the Quilava. Aspen's Brave Pokemon revved up while igniting, fearlessly ramming through the beam in a Flame Wheel, aiming to strike his opponent once more. Two Quagsire jumped onto the boat and began lobbing Mud Bombs at the defending Pokemon. Finding their presence unpleasant, Meadow shook her head and leaped up to douse the new threats with Stun Spore. Their assault stopped, leaving the Roselia to blast them back with a Magical Leaf. Torrent succeded in catching the Floatzel's attention, with the latter being quite annoyed at that attack from a weaker evolutionary stage. And so when the Buizel charged mindlessly forward in an Aqua Jet, it clamped down with a Crunch. Torrent grimaced in pain but managed to free himself by aiming a point-blank Ice Beam in the Floatzel's face. With both of them quite angry, the two of them launched forward at each other in a clash of the Aqua Jets. Aspen struggled to keep a panicking Saya under control, eventually forced to use both of his arms to prevent the Eevee from wriggling free into the chaos. "Not good... Not good at all..." he said, not looking forward to the challenge ahead. Something seemed odd however, the youngest Seaton being rather confused on that feeling. It suddenly hit him however, causing his eyes to widen. "Wait... Where's Xander?!"
  23. OOC: In exchange for bunnying my characters (and making that awful pun), Konuju has given me permision to briefly bunny Terry. IC: Dahlia Seaton Dahlia turned around in the middle of drying her hands to look at Paul, smiling at his comment. "You're very welcome, Mr. Burks." she said. Before she could utter another word however, Asriel suddenly went on edge, growling at nothing in particular. That left the middle Seaton quite confused before the boat tipped to the side hard, causing her to yelp as she slammed into the floor, hard. The gardener groaned and looked up to see the Absol already bounding away, Paul in close pursuit. Coco fell flat on her face when the first impact struck the boat, though she was quickly helped up by Terry. She gave the Loyal Dog Pokemon her thanks, and promptly slammed on her back when the boat was struck a second time. The Buneary hopped back onto her feet and was feeling quite annoyed by this turn of events, and squeaked for the Herdier to follow her up the deck. The two of them bounded through the halls and up the stairway, seeing the chaos up on the deck. Coco looked around and spotted a Poliwrath looking to cause some trouble. The Rabbit Pokemon leered and quickly closed the distance with Agility, her fist crackling with electricity. She unleashed the Thunder Punch at close range in a standing uppercut motion, aiming to hit her opponent upwards for a juggle. By the time Dahlia made it onto the deck, Asriel had fired a Razor Wind at a Jellicent hovering menacingly nearby. He snarled at it and then leaped forward with a Night Slash from his horn. Dahlia grabbed three Pokeball, releasing her Bellossom, Dragonair, and Turtwig. "Laurel, Magical Leaf! Dracos, Thunderbolt! Nutmeg, Razor Leaf!" she called out, frowning at the current situation and hoping it would be resolved quickly. Laurel nodded and gathered leaves around her, jumping up to fire them at the Whiscash nearby. Dracos flicked his tail and gave a noble roar, summoning a bolt of lighting above to strike a Swanna above the boat right as it was about to make another pass for the deck. Meanwhile, little Nutmeg remembered her training with Axel, and eyed an Alomomola to the side. The Turtwig attempted to time it just right so that the Pokemom would swim right into the path of the singular, high-speed leaf fired towards it. OOC: Coco: Thunder Punch -> Poliwrath Asriel: Razor Wind + Night Slash -> Jellicent Laurel: Magical Leaf -> Whiscash Dracos: Thunderbolt -> Swanna Nutmeg: Razor Leaf -> Alomomola IC: Aspen Seaton The youngest Seaton was laying in bed and relaxing. Just as he sighed contently, the boat rocked and he yelled out while being flung off the bed into the wall. A second impact came soon after, with Aspen standing to his feet soon after. "What the-?! What's going on?!" "We're under attack, clearly." Aria replied, quickly running out of the room. Her current trainer was left blinking for a moment, looking at the space where she was a moment ago. He shook his head however, and grabbed three Pokeballs to release Flare, Meadow, and Torrent. "We gotta see what's going on! Up the stairs!" the trainer called out, with all three of his Pokemon nodding as they ran through the hall. Before he could follow them however, Aspen turned around to find Saya darting through his room in fear, and almost about to run outside into the hallway. "Sorry about this!" he muttered under his breath, scooping up the startled Eevee with one arm, running after his Pokemon and doing his best to ignore the kicking and scratching fox in his arm. Aria fired an Aura Sphere at an advancing Barbaracle, while Flare crackled with electricity and launched himself at a Dewgong in a Wild Charge. Meadow took aim with a Magical Leaf at an Octillery, the leaves scattering towards the octopus. Torrent spotted a nearby Floatzel and immediately scowled, puffing up his chest. The Buizel charged up and launched an Ice Beam at the more-evolved Pokemon, intent on challenging it to a one-on-one duel. OOC: Aria: Aura Sphere -> Barbaracle Flare: Wild Charge -> Dewgong Meadow: Magical Leaf -> Octillery Torrent: Ice Beam -> Floatzel
  24. Finally have profiles for two of Dahlia's Pokemon. Species: Turtwig Nickname: Nutmeg Trainer: Dahlia Seaton Appearance: Nutmeg is a bit smaller than the average Turtwig, though still quite heavy. Personality: Nutmeg is a quirky individual, who doesn't think a lot of things through properly. However, she is also quite friendly and enjoys the company of others. Oftentimes she will attempt to greet someone with a headbutt or by jumping at them, though her weight usually ends up being a hinderance in those instances. Ability: Shell Armor Specialty: Speed+ Known Moves: Razor Leaf, Tackle, Mega Drain Withdraw, Wide Guard (EGG move), Superpower (EGG Move) Species: Absol Nickname: Asriel Trainer: Dahlia Seaton Appearance: No major differences from other Absol. Personality: Asriel is quiet and aloof among most people, thanks to years of being looked at as a monster. While he's mostly unwilling to interact with human beings and even some Pokemon, those who show him kindness will earn his friendship and protection. Even though old wives' tales and superstition has tarnished his reputation, when disaster is about to strike, Asriel will warn whoever he can in the hopes someone will listen to him, and defend the innocent when all heck breaks loose. Ability: Justified Specialty: Asriel's prediction ability as an Absol allows him to sense when a devastating blow is about to be dealt to him or an ally. He can also detect hostile intent in those around him, and sense a sneak attack the moment before it occurs. However, Asriel must be outside of his Pokeball to sense danger, and cannot use his abilities if distracted prior to the usual triggers. Additionally, he can only detect things within a limited range, those outside of that distance is invisible to prediction. Known Moves: Night Slash, Psycho Cut, Megahorn (EGG Move), Detect, Future Sight, Razor Wind Tried something neat for Asriel's Specialty. Any thoughts?
  25. IC: Olivia Seaton Three days after Chloe's last message, Olivia walked up the stairs to her room. Heather followed her heels and squeaked in a panic, scrambling up to the trainer's shoulder. The Pikachu nuzzled her head against Olivia in an attempt to get her to pay attention. The eldest Seaton looked over and smiled slightly, before picking up the electric mouse and setting her down on the floor of her room. "Thanks Heather, but I know what I'm doing. Just trust me on that, okay?" she said. Chloe's Pikachu looked up doubtfully and pressed her ears down against the side of her head nervously, but scampered to the side afterwards, worried for what was to come. "You got everything you need, right?" Amethyst asked, sitting on the bed. "It's already been a few days, sure Chloe's been sending you messages here and there, but no indication of when she'll be back. We'll have to find her as soon as we can." the Gardevoir muttered, shaking her head. "I know that, but we've still got about an hour before the plane to Nimbasa departs. So right now it's just waiting, and more waiting..." the red-haired trainer muttered, sighing. "I can't believe I let my guard down again. I thought I've learned since four years ago, really... Turns out I haven't." she said, shaking her head. "Guess I got too comfortable." Amethyst crossed her arms and frowned. "Last time wasn't your fault, and neither was this. Guy seems to be around every corner lately, there's no telling where he'll come from..." she said gravely. "Don't worry. This time we know exactly where she is, and how to get to her. You're not going to wait another four years to see Chloe." Olivia looked down at her feet silently. "...Yeah. No more sitting around and crying into a pillow. This time I've got a plan, and I'll make Guy pay dearly for what he's done." she said in a low voice, her expression shifting into a scowl. However, something crossed her mind to knock her out of those thoughts, and she turned to Amethyst afterwards. "Hey, I've been meaning to ask, what the heck has been happening with you lately? Seems like I've missed a lot." "...What do you mean?" The eldest Seaton put a finger to her chin and thought. "Hmm, well you and Alvis seem a bit strange with one another as of late. And your Mom's from Snowpoint and was with you until she decided to stay with Anna. What's up with that?" Olivia asked. "Well... I guess I couldn't keep you in the dark forever." Amethyst said, shrugging. She went on to explain how she debated with the Gallade over their available paths, her sordid childhood that Alvis found out about, and how it all came to a head when encountering her father in the forest that one Snowpoint night. The Gardevoir went on to describe the jubilee she felt upon seeing her beloved mother again, and how relieved she felt to finally gain closure on that chapter of her life. "...Huh. You've been through pretty much the same amount of stuff I have that week, really." Olivia muttered, blinking a bit from taking in her story. "Though... Am, didn't you hate Alvis' guts at first? Nowadays you really seem to enjoy his company, and I haven't seen you spar with anyone else. What's going on?" The Gardevoir's eyes darted back and forth as she sat there in silence, before shaking her head. "I'm not about to confirm or deny anything... Other than I don't hate him anymore. Okay, yeah, maybe I got a little close." she admitted, rolling her eyes. "What are you gonna do about it?" The eldest Seaton cracked a grin at that, chuckling lightly. "Well then. We really are alike in a lot of ways, huh? Guess that means we've both got people we want to see again." she said, sighing. "Unova's pretty far away, isn't it? If only this trip could be a bit shorter..." "Maybe we should get moving now." Amethyst replied, standing up from the bed. "It's better to be early to the airport than late." "Yeah, you're right about that. Gimme a moment." Olivia said, stepping off the bed to gather her bag. Before she followed the Gardevoir down the stairs however, the red-haired trainer took a moment to get out her Pokegear and type a short message to her beloved.
