  2. Ey, thanks everyone I've tried using vanilla Bohrok eyes prior to using the BA visors. They didn't really fit the insectoid look I was trying to achieve, and they looked way too small. Besides, I tried to use as few pieces the original had as possible. Thanks for the input though!
  3. I hope for your sake some one buys that. The platinum thing is more of a joke, as well as the $9999 price tag xP
  4. Yeah that's literally the basic procedure with printable models for me xP Aside from the auto-checker, I always check everything manually to make sure everything's in order. I've found that 99% of the time merging and welding down everything that's too close together does the trick. As far as this model goes, it appears that Shapeways didn't register the boolean holes properly for whatever reason, so I just re-did them and everything was fixed. It's weird how it doesn't register some aspects of the model at times though, even if the edited version has no difference in the affected area. Sounds to me like a problem with exporting the model, are you exporting to .stl or using the program's native format? Neither, I use the .obj format. I also regularly check the .obj files in a 3D-printer/viewer program to make sure they're properly exported. So far I've only encountered this error with Shapeways Well, then that's really odd. Perhaps worth reporting to the shapeways team? Hmm, maybe. It's probably not something they're unaware of though. I've encountered the same error with that pedestal I made, but I didn't really pay much attention to it since it was only one polygon which was easily fixable. If this continues I'll report it, maybe they can offer some help. Ey, thanks! Since I've updated the socket on this version, a review would be most helpful I think you can order it without signing up, but I'd recommend opening an account, purely for the sake of better service and refunds. As far as payment methods go, all basic means like paypal and credit card are accepted.

  6. As promised, the fixed version is now published. Click the link to check it out! Pictures of the real thing will follow up soon, so stay tuned for that. 7. Ey, thanks everyone. Aye, been trying out multiple fixes over the past period, will upload the edited version later today. I've bought one for myself, and Logan McOwen has bought one as well. The socket on the current version is a bit too tight, so as to prevent it from breaking during the manufacturing process. I've been trying to work around it, so the updated version will come soon. The texture largely depends on the material used, whilst the basic plastic has a rough texture. I always use exact TLG measures for making my 3D models, so they aren't loose. Sometimes they're a bit snug due to the 3D printing itself, but it's nothing a bit of sanding down can't fix.
  8. Ey, thanks! Edit: Please see here about generic comments in BBC! -Wind-
  9. Figured this should go here rather than the Artwork section considering this is a MOC after all. Made a 3D redesign of gen2 Tahu, partly to test out the look of the custom torso shell on a MOC. It's a fairly simplistic build which should be possible IRL, but the focus here was using the chest piece so I'm fairly satisfied. Larger resolution on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/cezium/19809761684 Everything, including the background, was rendered in 3DSMax. More info about the custom shell can be found here: http://shpws.me/Jz5N
  10. Ey, thanks. I've tried multiple methods, and I've found that fixing it using the boolean works really well. For simpler objects another easy method is just creating another one, which also fixes the problem. It's possible that shapeways doesn't register the inner vertices at times, so just "rewriting" them solves the problem.
  11. Hey everyone, it's me again with another custom thing. This time it's a Gen2 adapted Mata torso, go check it out here: http://shpws.me/JywU On a side note, I don't suppose anyone here knows what's causing the error with the Shapeways render where it fills up the pin holes? EDIT: The pin hole error has been fixed, the print should be error-free now.
  12. Ey, thanks. I was planning on giving it tripod-esque legs, but in the end I felt like the legless appearance suited it better.
  13. Thanks for the comments guys. Idunno, maybe they are. Yeah, figured someone would point that out. I tried to give it a Makuta-ish vibe, since Bionicle was somewhat more "serious" than TLM when it comes to that stuff.
  14. 'Tis high time I finished something. For more info and explanation behind the design, check out my Flickr post: https://www.flickr.com/photos/cezium/18812852575/ Good luck to everyone else and stuff.
  15. Thanks! Sure thing, if Shapeways' pricing isn't too much for you, you can order them as soon as it's back up (in around an hour probably). The axle hole runs pretty deep, at around 2-3 technic lengths, can't remember quite correctly. Can you get a short axle stuck? I believe this answers both questions. If people don't mind paying for them, I don't see why not. I didn't make them available already because some of those prices were a bit too high, but I guess I might as well offer up that too.
  16. Thank ye. A version with the ridges is actually underway, but I went ahead and released the "clean" version first in case people would like to modify the stands themselves, or if someone simply preferred it without the cuts.

  18. **The mini version is now up! You can order it here: http://shpws.me/DEHV ** Eyyy, since I’ve seen more and more people try to replicate the Gen2 mask stands, I figured I might as well make one available for printing! I’ve made it available for 3 materials, since others are much more expensive. Wish I could’ve priced it lower, but it’s the absolute minimum Shapeways accepts. So yeah, outsides are completely accurate to the NYCC stands, so if anyone wants one, feel free to order it here: http://shpws.me/CaA6 *Note, Shapeways is down at the moment, it should be back up in a couple of hours. EDIT: Shapeways is up and running once again.
  19. Thanks. The joints actually have a wide range of motion compared to my usual builds. The head and arms have full articulation, whilst the legs are fairly articulated, with the exception of the feet. This is mainly because I had to use a broken socket on one of them so it tends to pop off when the foot is moved. The head uses a BA visor, a Pakari, and some smaller bits. I don't really make any how-to's or tutorials on my designs, so yeah, that's about as much as I can tell you xP
  20. Can't say it did, tbh. I switched from the system-brick-visor to this one simply because it looked better and fits the build more xP
  21. Yep, it was more or less envisioned as a police robot sort of thing xP
  22. Not seeing the Boba Fett part, but I guess the weapons kinda make it look like a Gundam. Thanks tho. Dankeschön
