  1. Thanks. Also I just realized "You" was missing in "welcome you to our" so on. Fixed that. Also, new page. I'm sure things can only get better for our heroes from here.
  2. He still isn't doing too well, health-wise. His color will return to him as his strength does.
  3. Kapura's so chill. Almost got toasted on one side, and he's so cool about it. I find these moments are funnier if you imagine the characters speaking with synthesized voices, like in Reviving Bionicle. Aaaaaaand here's another page, for the 16th. Mata Nui compels you!
  4. They're all right, just got a little singed is all. He hallucinated that he was being attacked by Visorak.
  5. Oh trust me, I get that NC reference. And thanks for the continuing support, everybody. Here's another page! Ooooooh boy. Yeah, I know I said this wouldn't be a beat-by-beat retelling of MNOG, but you can probably see where this scene is going.
  6. Hmmm my guess is they're actually Skull spiders... but we'll just have to wait and see More like mini-visorak. Just wanted to give things from Bionicle's later years cameos here and there.
  7. Thank you! I'll upload a new page each day if I can.
  8. The original faces were trick to work with, what with their four lips and gaping mouths. I tried to make them look more like a series of overlapping, sliding plates. Also, here's page 13. Mini Visorak? Oooh boy. Time for some mind games.
  9. Hm. I guess it just never occurred to me to think of it as a flaw. And don't worry too much about Tahu, everybody. He'll come around. See?
  10. Because I still like those elements...? I like Brickonicle an' all, but if I wanted to I could've just made a straight adaptation of that.
  11. Woah, what? I'd always thought they were an alien race that settled down of Sphereus Magna and helped the native Glatorian advance from a previously caveman-like status.
  12. Thanks. I hope more people do as it goes on. Here's the next page. Look at Lewa, getting that kind of attention and just eating it up. Haha You know that bit in "Elf" where Buddy (Will Ferrel's character) keeps getting handed flyers and saying thank you? That's basically how I imagine Lewa's delivery sounding here. The last panel's depiction of Onu-Koro was inspired by this amazing piece that just... Oooogh, look at that. Beautiful. As soon as I saw it I had to feature it in this story. As for Onua's line... Who here can relate? (I can't help hearing it said in his synthesized, "Reviving Bionicle" voice).
  13. I had to shrink these down to fit BZP's 500 kb limit. To see higher-res versions of these pages and more, simply visit the DA gallery. https://nickinamerica.deviantart.com/gallery/64101494/The-Toa-A-Bionicle-retelling Please also consider checking out Planet Ripple, my original series. And now, read on gathered friends. Before anyone asks about Nova Orbis.... Trust me, I will get back to that someday. But every time I've tried to get back into it lately, I've just given myself a headache and gotten overwhelmed. Keep in mind, I'm also working on Planet Ripple every day that I can, so I'll be lucky to finish a page of this per day on top of that. But I wanted to give people here something simple and refreshing that I could update regularly, so here it is. "The Toa" as I'm calling it, is going to be a simple retelling of the original story, mostly focused on 2001 but referencing some other things. It's not a simple recap of the Mata Nui Online Game's story, as you may've noticed already from some of the twists shown so far. The Toa Canisters actually do fall from space this time, there are boys and girls in all Matoran tribes (there's a female Ta-Matoran to the left in the panel where Vakama emerges from his hut), Tahu nearly dies landing directly on the island, and Takua doesn't have amnesia from falling on a beach. I have many other tweaks in store, and it's going to diverge more and more from the original story over time. Basically, if I had to take the BEST things about G1 and cram them into one simple, easy to follow, streamlined story that addresses many of the criticisms made over the years... this is how I'd do it. Rather, how I'm going to do it. So yeah... feedback is appreciated. I hope this first taste has people excited.
  14. So wait, is there a sway to start a new game in this version after beating it or are you stuck after playing it once?
  15. Built-in save (fan-modified to more closely resemble the original online game) Official 2006 rerelease Some antivirus software won't like that first one for some reason, but I can vouch for its safety. Phew, thank you. Yeah I tried the old mediafire link from 2013 but my computer rejected it.
  16. Where can we download that? You know, I always wanted to make a video focused on lego's flash games... might have to get around to that, and quick.
  17. I just spent most of yesterday stressing over how to continue to story after someone brought it up on DevArt. In the end, I didn't get any work done. I just gave myself a headache. I have some of the next chapter done, but darn I am having so much trouble making time for both this AND Planet Ripple and the occasional youtube vid. I'm being pulled in too many directions at once, and it's become a struggle just to actually finish anything.
  18. Well, dang... you leave for a coupla' months to pursue other things and when you come back, everything's become super depressing. I just hope there's still some people here when I do eventually, inevitably resume Nova Orbis for real. I've really enjoyed being a part of this place in recent years, after only observing it from outside all throughout G1.
  19. So do I, man. I probably wouldn't be writing something like this if I didn't have my own experiences as an autistic person to draw from and share. I've just finished building a Planet Ripple website for anyone who's interested. https://www.planetripple.com/ From the surface, his approach would probably look like he was there to destroy them, like in Hellstar Remina. I'll get back to this story, guys. The implications of Mata Nui's possible short-lived presence on the planet go deeper than you know. I'm not going to let Nova Orbis die. It's asleep for the moment, but I'll wake it up when I have the time for it.
  20. So far, I've finished a third of the book. It should be done sometime in may. It's about a cyborg girl who has autism. Her name is Minnow and she was born with four stumps, so her quality of life largely depends on what sorts of limbs she can afford at any given time. Here's some pages I've uploaded for free (the first half of the book will be free, both halves will be available on Amazon). So yeah, if anyone wants to see what I've been up to lately, here it is. The full book is 300 pages long. I'm just coloring some pages and adding text to finish them up. http://nickinamerica.deviantart.com/gallery/61793713/Planet-Ripple-My-original-series
  21. I touched upon a lot of these things last year. May as well link it here, since my thoughts haven't changed much since then.
  22. Oh, geez... I've been away for too long. I'm sorry for taking this long to get back to you, Blue91233. I've been dedicating my every waking hour to finishing my book so I can push it out as soon as possible. I promise, after that (a few months from now), I'll slow down and should have more time for Nova Orbis. It's just... this other project HAS to come first, or I don't have a future.
  23. Yeah, this whole conversation was a chance to poke fun at G1, and also articulate things that must've crossed our minds at some point or other. Even the bit about the Turaga being the grumpy grandparents of their race is like... we've all thought that, right?
