  1. If there were to be a Star Wars or Marvel-esque deal, which is most likely, that would be great. See what Disney did for Marvel? Thanks to that deal, Marvel got the money and resources necessary to bring us the movies we've been getting. Now obviously I'm in agreement that this is a hoax, but would I be on board if it were real? Most likely...Disney did bring Star Wars back after all.

  2. Sure, why not? Would be nice to display in a car or something.

That is, without a doubt, the most unorthodox place I've heard suggested to display a Funko...and that's why I like it. Of course, ultimately depends on the car type. It would clash in something tough looking like a Ford Mustang, but would be right at home in most minivans or 4-door sedans.

  3. Someone brought up the point of Bionicle being an extinct toyline...fair point, but many Funko figures are of characters from extinct TV shows or movie series, so not too sure that point holds water. By that logic, I shouldn't be able to buy a Batman Beyond Funko seeing as that show is no longer running.

Another person mentioned that unbuildable versions of buildable figures would be counterintuitive...honestly, same could be said for the Transformers Funko figures. People buy Transformers because they, well...transform. Yet, despite that, there's a market for non-transformable Transformers.

Surprised to see a general dislike for the style given that chibi-fied versions of Bionicle characters have been prevalent in fanart since the franchise's inception.

In theory, Bionicle Funko figures would exist to augment the constraction figures...and be a collectors' item that doesn't get opened. Doesn't mean they'd be a good idea or even draw an audience. Do I support my own idea? Not sure, but I have to play devil's advocate a bit here. Not trying to change opinions, just trying to give some good counterpoints and whatnot. Enjoying hearing everyone's thoughts on this!

  4. The reason I even entertained the notion that Bionicle characters would look good in Funko form is because the live action Transformers have been made. Funko figures are not always simple. Many have sculpted details, such as pistons, gears, armor, etc. Sure, some characters have not translated well in Funko form, but most of the ones I've seen do. Harley Quinn, for example...the jester version was already cute anyways, so it worked. Doesn't mean Bionicle characters would translate well, but it just came to mind due to all the ones I've been seeing lately that I was surprised got made. Interesting to see the feedback so far, it has made me think...keep it coming!

  5. I ask this question for a few reasons...the first being that I recently have been in stores and online a lot searching for DC Funko figures to buy for a friend's birthday. The more obvious reason being that Funko figures have taken the world by storm, and are rapidly expanding to include new brands. These figures are highly collectible, and exclusives are being released at retailers such as GameStop or at conventions such as NYCC. Everything from Star Wars to Transformers to Harry Potter to Fast and Furious and even Frozen and BioShock and - shockingly enough - Call of Duty Zombies seem to have Funko figures now. So let's just say that LEGO decided to allow Funko to make Bionicle Pop Vinyl figures...sure, such a scenario may not be ultra-likely, but it's by no means impossible either. But if it were to happen...who would buy them? I'm sure many would, and I feel that it would be a good way to raise brand awareness and perhaps bring in an audience that previously did not exist. But those are just my thoughts...I'd like to hear yours now!

Why on Earth can I not find the summer wave in stores? And why have the Bionicle sections in the LEGO aisles disappeared? I expect better from WalMart and Target...and Amazon is overpriced, so I can't turn to that. I'll probably just order these from LEGO, but I just don't understand the deal here.

In the United States, the summer 2016 Bionicle sets are exclusive to Toys 'R' Us. As for why other stores' Bionicle sections are disappearing, I guess that the ones you've visited have simply sold out of all the Bionicle sets they had in stock and opted not to order more from LEGO.

Oh, that makes sense...I actually found them at Toys R Us two days ago! So now I have the entire collection, built 'em all that night. Sad that these are the last ones...that fact hit me last night. But I had fun building these, and they look awesome. Umarak is a lot bigger than I expected.

  8. Just like the first cancellation, this came at the worst possible time. Sure, there's a never good time for one of your favorite franchises to come to an end, but 2016 has just been such a hard year, both personally, and for the world in general. As someone said earlier, goodbyes are always hard...but some are harder than others. I had to say goodbye to a beautiful car I owned for almost 4 years back in March because of bad weather. Though I have a new car and have rebuilt, it still hurts, and the events of that night still haunt me. I also learned this year that Bleach will be ending, and that is a goodbye that will be tough because I really fell in love with that franchise. Both the manga and the anime helped fill the void Bionicle left the first time, and now both are on their way out. Currently, I'm having issues with my girlfriend of almost 11 months, and it doesn't look like the relationship will survive, so that's not helping anything. So add this into the mix, and it's just a mess. Grateful for the second run were given though, even if it was far too short. Some of us are indifferent to this goodbye, but to those us of who are saddened by it, always remember the wise words of Shinedown..."sometimes goodbye is a second chance".

  9. I'm no doctor, but it looks to me like you'll be all right in time; you have a good attitude towards the whole thing that lends itself well to healing. Losing a first car like that is always hard and I can only imagine how difficult that must have been to see the vehicle like that. I can but rejoice in the fact that you are alive and able to feel emotion, even if it's unwanted. You are alive and your emotional state can improve as long as you stay so.

Thank you. My emotions are a bit all over the place, and there are occasionally times where I just don't feel much of anything, but I'm working through it. It probably will take me a while, but I've got my 21st coming up in 2 weeks, so that'll be fun. Also should be getting a new car this weekend if all goes well.

  10. That's horrific. I'm glad you both walked away from it; not everyone does. I sincerely hope you both recover from your injuries, both the physical and the emotional. Here's for hoping your first automobile accident is the last.

Thank you. It was definitely horrific, especially the flipping, that's what traumatized me. The most horrific moment was looking back at the vehicle after we'd gotten out...was hard to believe it. We're recovered from our physical injuries for the most part. Pretty sure all his cuts are gone, and my back is still just a little messed up, but I've always had very minor back issues anyways. Emotionally, he wasn't really affected, but I definitely was. I'm still not quite the same, and may not be for a while. But he's helping me through it, and I'll probably feel better once I get a new car. Still gonna take some time though...talking to people seems to help me, I've noticed.

  11. Hey, I know that not a lot of you on here know me, but enough of you do that I figured this needs to be said...on Thursday, March 24th at 7:00 PM EST, I was in my first ever auto accident, and my best friend was with me. We were headed home in my car - a black 2007 Ford Mustang GT/CS with silver stripes - on the interstate, going northbound. It had been raining lightly...I was unintentionally going a bit too fast, and was in the process of slowing down when it happened. At 75 MPH, we hydroplaned, spun twice across the other three northbound lanes, went off-road and slid on the grass into two or three small trees that got knocked down, flipped over three times, and finally landed upside down...and somehow, we were unharmed. We were both bruised and sore, he had a few cuts, and I hit my head, but that's the worst of it. Sadly, the car was totaled. I had gotten the car on May 20th, 2012, and had not had any tickets or anything until this accident...my record was clean. Because I'd owned the car for so long, I'd gotten attached to it, so losing it, especially in such a violent manner, hurts deeply. My emotions are still a bit up and down of course...and at times, it still doesn't feel real. But above all, I'm thankful to be alive, and even more thankful that my friend is alive. The fact that we walked away from something so violent is a miracle that we certainly won't ever forget. Sorry for the long post, but I figured everyone needed to know, and I kinda needed to vent a bit.

  12. I do like the blended gold masks, but they remind me too much of the drained masks from last summer. Seeing as these versions aren't drained, what is the purpose of them fading to translucent colors? As for the standard masks blending to silver, I quite like that. Again, I like both, but feel like the blended gold is creating a bit of a continuity issue here.

  13. So, I got Ketar, Akida, Pohatu, and Kopaka and Melum yesterday, and built them pretty much instantly. I do love them, but there are some...questionable design choices. Kopaka's random gold kneepads stick out too much, seeing as that's the only gold on him until you put on his golden mask. Then there's that dark blue on his forearms...sticks out a bit as well, but not quite as badly. As for Pohatu, his forearms are too translucent, and his weapon is a bit awkward, as is his unity mode...that said, I do like some of the design choices on all of them. I prefer Kopaka's new mask over his old one, and I like his unity mode, even though it doesn't line up as well as I'd like. Really looking forward to getting the rest soon!

  14. I checked over the past few days, nothing here in the Metro-Atlanta area...checked a Target, a BAM, a B&N, and 2 WalMarts. May search again tomorrow since I need to fill up my tank anyways. Probably won't check on New Year's...if I don't check tomorrow, I will on Saturday. Between Bionicle, Black Ops 3 Zombies, various films, and turning 21 in April, 2016 is looking to be something to be remembered.
