I just felt that Bionicle builds had a lot more options and customisation points. I know we won't be getting the old system back, but I'd like to see the CCBS tweaked a little to be more reminiscent of the old system. The armour used with the CCBS, depending on what sized plates you use, can severely inhibit the range of motion a build has, and the armour has a lot less detail. That's what I really liked about Bionicle: the attention to detail, which has been sorely lacking in the later HF sets.

Also, does anyone else find it ironic that Bionicle sets looked more like robots than the actual robots in HF?

Only if you have a very narrow idea of what a robot looks like. The Toa have lots of exposed mechanical details like pistons and such. They have a "clockwork" look like you might see in a steampunk universe. But a lot of real-life robots and machines, such as ASIMO and Robonaut, have much smoother, cleaner-looking designs. Even a car or plane generally has a smooth, streamlined body made of metal plates, with the mechanical innards hidden underneath.

Pistons and whatnot is also characteristic of Terminator endoskeletons and Transformers. But then again, the Jeagers from Pacific Rim are fairly smooth. So it's really up to personal interpretation.

Anyone here a Bleach fan? Perhaps Bionicle could reboot similarly to what Bleach did after the Arrancar arc. There was a 17-month timeskip, and then we got the Fullbringer arc, which initially didn't require knowledge of the 2 previous arcs to understand. Although the current arc is tying up loose ends and whatnot. Maybe we'll see a similar approach with Bionicle. Eases people into it at first, then explains things and gives throwbacks/nods for older fans.

  2. Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly does CCBS stand for?

If it's a continuation, we definitely NEED to see the element lords and the dinos. Next logical step, IMO. Even if it's a reboot, I'd wanna see them. Dinos and giant reptiles are popular again. Recently we've had Pacific Rim, Godzilla, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Jurassic World is coming soon...only makes sense for Bionicle to cash in on the giant reptile craze before it goes extinct again.

    ...Pun was very intentional.

Sorry, I'm a little confused. Why are we discussing what the masks in the leaked images look like? I thought we weren't meant to be discussing leaks. And, to be honest, the quality of said image makes it incredibly difficult to discern exactly what some of the set's features actually look like. I don't think we have much choice but to wait until Lego shows us some genuine set images for next year. For all we know, the leaks might be preliminary images from months ago, and the real sets are going to look completely different.

This is correct, as Windrider has said multiple times. Everyone needs to stop.

Well, we can't go much further with speculation...unless something happens soon, this topic will temporarily die or become a spam-fest until official images are released. The leaked images policy hurts topics by stunting discussion/speculation, and breeds spam. The hype train spam a few pages back has only occurred on here...haven't seen much hype train talk on the TFW2005 discussion. There's been some there, but not excessively like there has been here. Interesting to note that websites where there's no policy haven't had topics spammed quite as much. Surely that's not just a coincidence? But enough of that, no point in me ranting about something that probably won't ever change.

  4. Can someone please try searching Bionicle on the Lego website again. I've tried three different search engines on my laptop, and none of them can load the page. I want to see if it's a glitch with my computer, or if they're actually updating the website or something.

Wouldn't load for me either...yup, updating is my guess. LEGO, what are you up to?

You guys have ran the whole hype train thing way into the ground. It's cool to be excited about it and all, but the spam is getting seriously annoying and it's why people are going to Eurobricks for good discussion of BIONICLE 2015 rather than here.

To be honest, the only reason this ran into the ground is because we've run out of things to discuss.

If you're upset about it, why not start a new discussion in here, rather than get on to us for spamming?

We wouldn't be running out of things to discuss if that outdated leaked images policy wasn't still in place. We're the only site I know of that has such a policy.

I seriously dont think we will get any Toa of different elements as part of the main six in a given year, because it might get some people confused. I do however, think we might get the occasional addition Toa like Lessovik, Lihkan, Ignika and Takanuva were in various years. Instead this time we would see more of different elements, if they even exist in the story this time around.

I don't think it would confuse people, if done right. If this is a reboot, LEGO can introduce different elements. I think it would be cool if we had more plot twists where Matoran aren't the element everyone thought they were, like when Takua turned out to be an Av-Matoran instead of a Ta-Matoran. Imagine having a team of fire, water, stone, air, ice, and then finding out the Onu-Matoran is actually a Ba-Matoran. As long as that kind of thing isn't overused, it would be nice to see. Plus having Toa/Turaga/Matoran of gravity would be an excuse for more purple pieces, something I know I'd like to see.

Yeah. TBH, I wouldnt be disappointed if they just stuck with the main 8 elements.

I also think it would be more confusing to younger kids. They would very likely keep the same or similar colours so say if there was blue used in both Electricity and Water, the younger audience might get confused.

Lightning colors should be yellow with white, IMO. Dunno why they made it blue and white. By 8 main elements, you're including shadow, yes? A Toa of shadow would be interesting...I wouldn't be disappointed either if we stuck to the main 8, but at the same time, I do like variety. Ah well, we'll see how this plays out.

I'd love to see a team composed of lightning, gravity, sonics, iron, magnetism, and plasma. Just need something different.

Although this is more of a story issue, I never understood why lightning and plasma were considered two different elements, considering lightning is made out of plasma.

Oh right, it is...however, plasma can take many different forms. And is plasma even considered an element?

I never really understood the difference between stone and earth, I kinda wish lego chose one and did lighting for the other main toa

Same.Always thought it was pointless since they're basically the same. But ti appears we're getting the Mata back, and if LEGO changes Onua or Pohatu's element, I can only imagine how many people will lose it. I wouldn't want it unless it fit the character as well as if not better than their current element.

Spiders, you say? -immediately thinks BIONICLE Spider-Man-

    :lol-sign: That'd be interesting...

I guess they did have the chance to make a Spiderman ultra build set but I dont think they ever did.

Darn you, Lego! Where are our Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Thor Ultrabuilds?!

Spiders? I thought this was Bionicle 2.0, not Eight Legged Freaks: Bionicle Edition.

Kidding, I already knew about the spiders. BTW, anyone else hoping to see Toa of different elements this go-round? Think it would make things fresh.

Heck yeah! I want to see Plasma, Gravity, and Magnetism. A Toa of Psionics would be nice, especially Orde.

Of course, being realistic, I'm not sure where Lego would go with that...
