  1. IC: Dahkapa (Near the Main Gates) As Dahkapa began to swing his war hammer, the earth suddenly sank beneath him, and he fell over. What the-, he thought before seeing an Onu-Toa moving towards them slowly. Great.. He began to stand up, but his enemies had a chance to strike..
  2. IC: Danaku Ran (Onu-Koro Prison) "A plan? What is it?"
  3. Well, if you're end up becoming interested in finding more about Stannis, I suggest looking at the old Kini-Nui topic. There's a lot of great stuff there, especially on the last few pages.Old Kini-Nui topic? How can I view the old topics? I've only managed to Access them via links from other sites, that's it.
  4. IC: Danaku Ran (Onu-Koro Prison) There was an awkward moment of silence. He tried to come up with something to talk about, but his head was still hurting, and he felt a little dizzy. Then, he noticed the sharp rock in the hand of the Ba-Toa, and then the scribblings on the wall behind him. "What are you drawing?" he asked and gestured towards the crude carvings on the wall.
  5. NOSTALGIA OVERLOAD That synopsis is an awesome read, but it's a shame that you can't really show us the contents of the VHS tape :/ Anyways, I just wanted to say that you did a good job designing Tarix, he was one of the two glatorian I bothered buying
  6. IC: The Champion (Obsidian Outpost) Miira.. I had the same dream again. First, I saw her laughing, then giving me a quick kiss on the cheek, and then giggling when she saw me smiling and blushing. Others were laughing at well. I was a different person back then. These memories would be heartwarming, but they're the opposite. Next I saw her with a deep, bleeding wound in her head. She was barely conscious. The Skakdi ambusher who had hit her in the head was lying on the ground nearby, having trouble breathing after I crushed his ribcage with my mace. I was on the verge of crying, refusing to belive what was happening. My friends were being slain around me, the guttural war-cries of the ambushers echoing in the valley. But for me, that wasn't happning. All I paid attention to was Miira. "I love you.. But I beg you, avenge me, kill those Rahi-spawn.. and please.. remember.. me." I was silent. Her eyes stopped glowing, her heartlight was extinguished. I slowly put her body on the ground. A Vortixx like myself was running towards me, his sword high, ready to strike. He died soon after. One after another, I slew the ambushers, until only half a dozen were left. They retreated, throwed insults at me. I didn't care. Then I see myself burying Miira and my friends. All of them were dead, and so was the old Dartakh. Then I always wake up. This time inside the Obsidian Outpost, the base of the Outsiders. I had joined them after spending a month on this isle. I am a mercenary, and this is an organization for others like myself. Everyone takes their jobs seriously, and I admire that. I was sitting on my bed, inside my quarters. They say that there are five stages of grief, and that eventually, everyone moves on. For some reason, I was stuck on the second stage. Anger. I was weak, I let Miira die. I wasn't prepared, I wasn't taking my job seriously. Now, everything is different. I train all the time, I keep a strict diet, and I avoid forming relationships. I would never fail again. I would be the greatest warrior of all. But Miira will remain dead.. I shook my head, stood up, picked up my trusty mace and went training. Soon, however, Zero called a meeting..
  7. IC: Danaku Ran (Onu-Koro Prison) Is Dan-Dan my name? Or was it actually Danaku, like the guards had told me? He looked at Silo. A purple Toa. "I'm sorry, do we know each other? I think.. I think I've lost my memory.." He wasn't as depressed now, he thought that maybe there indeed had been friends he knew, he had just forgotten everything about them. Although it wasn't a good sign that one of his friends was in prison. Silo could see that Danaku's left shoulder and throat were both bandaged.
  8. IC: Dahkapa (Near the main gate) As Dahkapa was running towards Zekev, he could suddenly feel lighter, and he lost his momentum. He stopped near Zekev, and the Skakdi swung his frost axe towards him. He didn't have time to block it, and he prepared for pain.. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew towards him, and pushed him farther. Zekev's swing missed barely. He soon realized that it had been the green Toa, who apparently was a Toa of Air. He used this moment to strike at the Skakdi, and swung his war hammer towards his head. OoC: New character IC: Dakku (Ko-Koro) The last few hours had been very confusing. At first I had thought that it had been a yet another terrorist attack, this time in the Sanctum itself, but later it was clear that it was something much, much worse. The city was under attack. How did that happen? Wasn't Makuta defeated by brave heroes, great Reordin among them? I couldn't believe it, and neither could my wife. We had been hiding in our home for an hour now, too afraid to go out. The streets are almost completely empty, silent. Even more silent than usual, which was strange. Ko-Koro was a quiet city, but now it felt like a lifeless one. I was looking out of the window, when I saw someone. At first, fear grasped my guts, but I realized that it was a member of the Sanctum Guards. "I'll go talk with him", I said to Haukka, my wife. She told me to be careful when I slowly opened the door, and greeted the guardswoman. "We are evacuating the city", she said. "All inhabitants must gather at the barracks. Only take your most valuable belongings. We don't have much time." It took a moment for me to comprehend her words. The city will fall.. I couldn't believe it. Wasn't the reign of darkness over? What was going on? The guardswoman interrupted my thoughts, told us to hurry. I nodded, went inside and told Haukka what she had said. She seemed sad, and to be honest, I was sad as well. We both decided to pray for the Great Spirit to help us in these dire times, and started to pack up all of our important belongings. For me, it was tragic to know, that all the buildings I helped to build might be torn down, destroyed. All the work, turned worthless. My wife tried to comfort me by saying that we might return, the battle will be won when warriors from other Koros come to our aid and defeat the attackers. I smiled, and she kissed me to the cheek and we hugged. She told me that everything will be okay. --- We soon arrived at the barracks. The Sanctum Guard was fortifying it, preparing for battle. A large group of people had gathered in front of it, full of men, women and children, most of them Ko-matoran. We waited, more people came and soon soldiers ordered us to follow. We went through the outskirts to the city, until we arrived at a metal door I had seen it before, but I didn't know what was behind it. I noticed pools of dried blood near it, but the guardsmen paid no attention to them. The door was opened, and we were led to an icy passage, carved inside the mountain. It was a very long and cold tunnel, and we kept walking in it for a while. Soon we arrived at the Nuju-Marion hospital and academy. Why were they taking us here? My wife told me that we might be evacuated from here. Had the main gate fallen? Maybe that second explosion had come from it. Mata Nui, I hoped not. The hospital was busy, and it seemed like it was being evacuated as well. But soon I wondered, where would we go? Ko-Koro was surrounded by ice and snow, no food for many kios around us. The closest Koro was almost a hundred Kio away. How would we have enough food and drinking water for such a journey? I didn't know, but I hoped that the Sanctum Guard did. OoC: Note: Part of the population of Ko-Koro is being evacuated through the hospital. Dakku is open for interaction.
  9. IC. Danaar Kaas (Mata Nui Technology Emporium) "All right, I'll hire you. Knowledge of metallurgy will be useful in Ta-koro", Lenat said after a moment of silence. Fantastic! I smiled, thanked him and shook his hand a little bit too excitedly, glancing at the gloves. I would love to find out the techniques that had been used in it's making, but they weren't mine. I reminded myself to refrain from stealing. Not that I was ever a thief. Except for.. ah, never mind. Time to start working again.
  10. IC: Danaku Ran (Onu-Koro prison) Danaku's prison sentence was extended by 15 years because of 2 murders and attempting to escape. A treatment scheldule was made for him, in order to cure his amnesia and depression. He would still live in the prison during the treatment. He was taken back to his cell, located opposite Silo Mahara's own cell. Silo had his sentence increased by 15 years aswell. Danaku had forgotten who Silo was. After spending a while staring at the floor of his cell, he tried to talk with Silo. "Um, hello? I hope you don't mind me talking with you. It's quite lonely in here. What's your name?" he asked with a shy voice.
  11. OoC: Warning, pretty dark stuff coming up. Danaku is somewhat depressed. I'm fine, if you're wondering. IC: Danaku Ran (Onu-Koro hospital) Nothing.. Then, a dream. He was walking on a sandy beach. Younglings were swimming in the shallow water, splattering water on each other. The sun was setting behind the horizon. Music could be heard in the distance. A pickaxe in his hand, piercing the skull of a person in one brutal motion. He screamed. He still screamed. The sea, the eternal sea, spanning the horizon. The waves, and their soothing sound. The sails of the ship flapping in the wind. The sun was setting behind the horizon. Sailors were playing a card game. He was running inside a dark tunnel. Dozen tools clutched in his arms. They were very heavy. Too heavy. He stumbled. Guards caught him, yelled at him, beat him. He screamed. He still screamed. --- Light. He could see it. His eyes were open. The light? Coming from a lightstone inside a lantern. It was hanging on the ceiling. Ceiling was made out of smoothed grey rock. "Look, his eyes are open!" The voice came from his left side. He tried to turn. He couldn't. He felt numb, weak and dizzy. Who felt numb, weak and dizzy? Is it me? "Mister Ran, can you hear me?" Someone tried to answer. Was it me? But no words came out, only a raspy voice. Pain, in his shoulder. Was it my own? --- I was sitting on the bed. The mattress was made out of cloth and filled with Rahi feathers. I remembered what those words meant. I could associate what I saw with consepts in my head. But I still didn't know who I was. I raised the stone mug to my mouth, and poured water into it. The nurses had left to bring me food. But I didn't need food, for I was Nothing. My memories of past events were almost completely gone. I also didn't know who I was. I only knew that I was worthless. I was alone. The nurses brought food. I didn't pay attention to what it was, I only saw the butter knife. It was all I needed. To darkness, i shall go, to be forgotten.. I had no meaning to exist. My sences were numb. Nothing felt real. I hoped i couldn't feel the pain. I wished to fade away in peace. I didn't. I screamed. I still screamed. I changed my mind, and the nurses bandaged my throat and took away the knife. I cried.
  12. Edit: Sorry Tiragath, missed your post IC: Dahkapa (Near the Main Gate) Suddenly, the green Toa (Joskander) slammed into Zekev, stumbled over his extented leg and fell on the snow. Then Brontes, standing not too far away from him, said: "Dahkapa, I am going to retreat to the hospital, they have to be told exactly how little time they have." He's right, you must go with him. The city is lost, it's inhabitants must be saved. I will not retreat. You will die. So be it. At least say something to Brontes and Jaatava. He turned around, saw Brontes running away and Jaatava marching with his company, head hanging low. "Jaatava! Brontes! Evacuate the Koro! Take them through the passage to Nuju-Marion's!" he hoped that none of the enemies nearby knew what he meant, but he was referring to the hospital/academy complex outside the city. Then Dahkapa heard the dark Toa, standing near the Skakdi, say "Sir Zekev! Get him!". The Kakama-wearing Toa was in grave danger. He charged in, and tried to slam into Zekev.
  13. IC: Danaar Kaas (Mata Nui Technoogy Emporium) "Oh, yes yes yes!" I said with an excited voice and started to rumage through my satchel. I could showcase my skills to someone who might appreciate them! I started to speak: "I have studied the elements and diffferent kinds of materials for a few decades now.. My life goal is to find a way to transmute base metals into noble metals, such as gold and silver. But I have also experimented with explosive materials and mixtures, and I often mix metals together to attempt to create new metals.. Ah, there it is!" I raised a glass jar half full of black powder. "This is my latest creation. A stronger version of Stralix powder. I call it 'Danaar Powder'. It's made out of sulfur, charcoal and saltpeter. It worked better than expected in my last experiment, but it actually worked too well because I lost my job, so you could say it didn't work.. But it did! The explosion was larger than a same amount of Stralix powder or any Mado Cabolo fruit could produce! Too bad I lost my notes in the explosion, so now I don't know how much of each ingredient I need.." I put the jar back into the satchel and took out a few notes. "Here I've written down my studies on protodermis. Don't ask how I got my hands on that stuff.." I looked at Lenat, and then I noticed the gloves. The gloves! I immediately put the notes back in my bag and walked to him in a hurry. "Whoa, what are these?" I asked when I grabbed his arm and examined the gloves. They were made out of weaved metal or something. The metallurgy was excellent! But then I looked at him, and it was clear he wasn't very comfortable. I took a few steps back. This was mildly embarrasing.. "Sorry, I got a little bit too excited, hehe. Anyways, I have profound knowledge of chemicals and metals, that you may find useful. Can I get a job?"
  14. Oh no, Oh yes and Oh no. Looks like we need to attack the Sanctum so we can evacuate.. although we could go to the hospital/academy through a tunnel and evacuate from there, maybe.
  15. IC: Dahkapa (Near the Main gates) Stop being suicidal and listen to Jaatava. No. It is my Duty to defend the homes of my people. If it is my Destiny to die while doing so, then so be it. Shouldn't you help the Sactum Guard evacuate the populace? Destroyed homes can be rebuilt, but lost souls cannot be returned. I will not run. I'm a Toa now. Does that mean you must be suicidal? There is no way you can fight against a dozen foes and survive. ... Shut up. His anger made him feel reinvigorated. He focused, he could feel elemental energy running through his veins again. But he had to sacrifice rational thought for that. As Brontes attacked the newly arrived berserker, he ran towards Zekev and Weiss. He used his dwindling amount of elemental energy to create ice around Zekev's eyes. He was blinded for only a few seconds before he simply melted the ice with his laser vision, but that was all he needed. He stopped a mere step away from him, raised his hammer as if ready to strike with it, but instead tried to punch Zekev suddenly with his metal shield. OoC: And no, he didn't notice what Joskander was doing..
  16. IC: Danaar Kaas (Mata Nui Technology Emporium, Ta-koro) "I am Danaar of the Kaas famiy" he said and bowed. "Notorious alchemist, inventor, black sheep of the family, unemployed. The word 'Technology' on your sign roused my interest, but I would like to know what the job involves."
  17. Are the Sanctum Guard evacuating the population of Ko-koro yet? And was there some secret passage out of the town? They could use that unless it's inside the Sanctum..
  18. Thanks for clearing it for me! That's pretty much the mental image I had in my head, except I didn't think that it was guarded and all.
  19. If the tunnel between Ko-koro and the hospital/academy is supposed to be a secret, then why is it mentioned in the first post of Ko-Wahi? I assumed that it was a commonly used path, had no idea it's supposed to be a secret. Although it does make sence that Dahkapa, my Ice Toa character who has lived in Ko for years and who has friends in the Sanctum Guard, knows about the tunnel. Headcanon problem fixed.
  20. OoC: Wow, I've got a lot of catching up to do.. IC: Dahkapa (Near the Main gates) Zekev's laser beams were absorbed by the energy shield of the Hau, but it deactivated immediately afterwards. The green Toa whipped the snw with is lash, creating a tiny blizzard among the Skakdi and the dark Toa, as Brontes and the green Toa charged at them. He was just about to join when suddenly, a group of Kane-Ra cavalry retreated past them. They were followed by a group of spear- and swordsmen of the Sanctum Guard. Among them was Captain Jaatava, who seemed to be alright. As Brontes was fighting, the purple Toa said "The fight for the gate is over, we outnumber you! Go into your city!" Brontes retreated from combat, after blinding the Skakdi with bright light, and looked at Dahkapa. "Dahkapa, he is right. We need to find your friend and get him to the hospital." Dahkapa gestured towards the group of Sanctum Guard, and said "I agree, but do not worry about my friend, he is right there." "Praise the Archangel! Now we can go loot in his name!" Dahkapa turned to look at the Skakdi. The green Toa was lying on the ground next to him, still concious. 'Archangel'? Now it's clear that they're the enemy.. 'Loot in his name'? Suddenly, anger started burning inside him, and his heartlight started to glow brighter. "I am a Toa, and my Duty is to protect my people and their homes. You'll enter this city over my dead body, cultist." His voice was stern and cold, and he picked up his cooled down shield from the ground. "You shall not pass." NPC: Captain Jaatava of the Sanctum Guard They blew up the gate with explosive powder. He and his men and women were standing on the wall, some standing behind the gate, ready for an assault by siege towers, latters and rams. But they didn't expect the gate to blow up just like that. They were given an order to retreat, and he thought that it was a wise decision. A shrapnel of wood had scratched him in the shoulder, cutting through his protodermic skin like through wet snow, but otherwise he was uninjured. However, three of his men had died in the explosion, and two others slain by the attackers. He knew the names of his soldiers, and every loss hurt. Kide and her humour, Kimpale with his stories, Huivi.. all gone forever. He tried his best not to think about it as they all retreated deeper into the village. Suddenly, he saw Dahkapa. He was fighting with two other Toa against a Skakdi and a dark Toa. He had almost walked past, ready to leave them behind.. "Halt!" His company stopped. "Dahkapa, get out of there! More enemies are coming, we need to retreat to the barracks!", he shouted. Unfortunately, Dahkapa seemed to ignore him and simply stood there..
  21. Norik, Tiragath, mr.house and Endless Sea, could you please let Dahkapa over at the Ko-Koro gates catch up with the events? I'll write his post later today, when I have time to do so.
  22. Okay, okay. English is not my native language so I do mistakes like that occasionally. Thanks for clearing it for me.
  23. By the way, is the plural of the word Skakdi Skakdis, or just Skakdi? The first one sounds dumb and the second one is confusing, so I wasn't sure.
  24. OoC: Going to try out first person with this new character, let's see how it goes IC: Danaar Kaas (Ta-Koro) 1,2,3,4,5,10,15,20,1,2,3.. 23 widgets. 23 widgets. I could buy food for today and tomorrow and for the Day After Tomorrow, but that's it. Great. Not only did I lose my job, but I lost it two days before the payday, right after I had spent my money wisely.. on a new satchel, because the previous one had ripped apart, burned into a crisp and.. well, suffice to say i needed a new one. I could've saved the money, or paid my rent, maybe even deposited it in a bank or something, but I really needed a new satchel, right now. I need something to carry my money with! Hah! Funny, because I barely have any money left. Karzahni, I need a new job. "Mata Nui Technology Emporium opening soon! Employees wanted!" Well, I need to start worshipping Karzahni now. What does the word even mean? Some hardcore Skakdi on the streets had used it a lot so I guess I adopted it from them. Wasn't it a name of a demon or something? Whatever, I need a job and I have a chance to get one now. Hooray! The sign was on the side of a building, that looked to be recently constructed; there wasn't a lot of ash covering the bright stone tiles of the building, and you could actually see something through the windows. I opened the door, and was greeted by a really tall, thin guy. He wasn't a Toa, that's for sure.. hmm, maybe a Lesterin? No, those guys were prettier.. ah, a Vortixx! Is he the boss? I don't know, better ask. "Um, hello there. I saw that sign, you're looking for someone to work here, right? Well, I need a job." OoC: He's talking to Lenat. If he wasn't headed to the store in your last post, you can use BZPRPGTime™
  25. IC: Dahkapa (Near the Main gate) As he approached the wounded Skakdi and the Toa of gravity, Zekev's eyes started to beam a bright light at him. Luckily, the beam hit his protosteel shield which he was holding in front of him.. but he soon realized that it may have been the Skakdi's plan all along, as the shield started to glow from immense heat. Dahkapa yelped in pain, and activated his Kanohi Hau while he threw the gleaming hot shield to the snowy ground. "You there! I would appreciate your help!" he shouted to the Toa who had appeared a few moments ago, and prepared to run towards the gravity Toa and the Skakdi. His energy shield was temporary, and he didn't want to get scorched. He was certain that Brontes would support him, but if the green Toa could attack them from behind, it would help them tremendously. Mata Nui give me strength. OoC: Mind me playing as a NPC captain? NPC: Captain Kallio of the Sactum Guard It was a great relief to receive help from a Toa of Electricity, who had helped them break through the side door of the Sanctum. But that relief dissipated when he and his friend,a Toa of Ice, left. And despair replaced it when they saw what had happened inside the Sanctum. They were too late. The defenders had been defeated, he and his men could see from a window. The courtyard was in the hands of the enemy, who was now advancing inside the Sactum itself. Cold shivers ran down his spine when he saw the attackers. All hope was lost, and the Sanctum had fallen. The Sanctum Guard had failed at their duty. "We have failed" he said to his men. His voice was filled with a mixture of grief, despair and disappointment. Kallio looked at his men. All but two of them were Ko-matoran, the two others were Lesterin mercenaries. Either way, they had no hope against these attackers, who had defeated the protectors of the Sanctum itself. "Retreat. The Sanctum is lost. I must discuss about this with other officers. Now go, before they see us. They are too strong. I do not want your families to lose hope because of your pointless sacrifices. Go." They left the Sanctum, walking on the same bridge they had used to enter. The situation was grim, but if they could regroup, they might be able to take back the Sanctum. Unless the main gate had fallen, in which case all hope would be lost. He prayed to the Great Spirit. Only gods could help them now..
