  1. I actually disagree; I believe that the whole mangled look to it works in its favor.  Plus, I could still tell that it was a Rahkshi (well, mostly the head, but I could see other elements that pointed it out as well).  However, I'd have to ask why doesn't he have a left arm and leg?  Probably story-related, but still, the absence is a bit mind-boggling to someone who's not played the Corpus Rahkshi RPG.

  2.

Well, this puts my fears of a drastically weaker LEGO Movie 2 to rest.  I've watched a bit of Parks and Recreation before, and I found it quite hilarious.

Bear in mind that he's only credit with one episode ("Camping").

He may be a first time director for an animated feature... but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I wish him good luck on the project!

Ah.  See, I'm not too familiar with the show, so I guess I was a bit misinformed.  Meh, whatever, hopefully it'll be good regardless.

  3. Well, this puts my fears of a drastically weaker LEGO Movie 2 to rest.  I've watched a bit of Parks and Recreation before, and I found it quite hilarious.  Hopefully that humor translates well for The LEGO Movie 2.  Plus, Lord and Miller are still writing it, and they've always done great work with their movies and shows, so I believe I can safely assume that The LEGO Movie 2 won't disappoint.

"Great. I think it's about time we loot the cave."

After al, their wounds has pretty much healed and he needed all the widgets he could get. He didn't want staying with the turaga for too long.

OOC: My deepest apologies for falling so behind- I hope I'm not horribly late

    IC: Banar

Banar jumped at the opportunity, saying, "Oh yeah... the cave.  I forgot about that.  Well, I'm all rested up; let's get to it!"

He grabbed his spear, ready to go.

  5. Awww, why have I never thought of this? It's so cool! Well done.

Seriously, it's so unique and innovatie. Pity there are no grey shells available for use with this creation, as said before.

They're actually supposed to be silver, according to the creator.  LDD just has a funny way of rendering it, making it look silver.  Silver size 5 shells do exist, so building it in real life is not hard.

  6.

Well, that didn't take long...  I was at Target today, and what did I see?

    img_20150220_192811.jpg

Onua, Master of Earth, on clearance for $13.98!!!  WHAT?  I was shocked.  I didn't pick one up, unfortunately, because I already have Onua.  But still, Target putting Onua on clearance?  He was the only 2015 one on clearance, though.  Everyone else was the same price.

EDIT: Interestingly, Target's official website still has Onua at $19.99.  Not quite sure what the people at my local Target were thinking...

If you remember, brown and black were the two least popular in being sold. Maybe Target is remembering the Stars?

Yeah, you've got a point there.  Still, though, so soon?

Skull Warrior: A bit of a misleading title, considering he looks to be more of an archer, but I guess "Skull Archer" doesn't really fit here. Anyways, he really does capture an archer vibe well, and it's great to see a transparent light blue shooter!

I think my favorite part of skull warrior is that he's got two kinds of weapons: the bow, and the spear/staff/polearm.

makes him great for army-building, since you can have skull archers and skull warriors, o even just one guy who is proficient in two weapons! O:

I didn't notice the spear/polearm until you pointed it out! :o Very interesting choice for two weapons! Guess Skull Warrior does fit after all, hahah

  9. Well, at least we know the prices for them all, though I'm sure everyone guessed them.

    Anyways, onto the sets.

Guess Skull Warrior does fit here, hahah

Skull Slicer: To be honest, I knew a lot of people would criticize him for having the regular Skull Spider mask, but to be honest, it seems like that was the best move for LEGO money-wise. Besides, it doesn't look half-bad, and the 4 arms concept with all of them being gear-controllable is very interesting!

Skull Basher: Quite the bulky set we've got here (for Skeletal standards). Great to see some more purple in Gen2! Seeing as purple was severely lacking in Gen1... The lack of gears in favor of a button (? Not sure if that's really confirmed) will hopefully set this guy apart from all the others.

Skull Scorpio: Well, this is the least favorite of everyone it seems. Lack of leg-poseability is unfortunate, but I still intend on getting this guy (as well as everyone else). Besides, I previously thought LoSS wouldn't be too great for similar reasons, but I really do enjoy his function. Here's hoping that Skull Scorpio's function is just as fun if not better (not gonna say "funner", because that doesn't sound right...).

Mask Maker & Skull Grinder: YES!! Finally, the Mask of Creation in set form! And Ekimu too! His presence is odd, seeing as he was said to be in an "endless sleep", but I'm sure that'll be established in the story. And I'm SO glad they chose to incorporate a shooter into the hammer (as odd as that is), and I'm even gladder that they chose to make that transparent light blue shooter piece, especially in this set. Of course, I'm not gonna forget the (brutal death metal name-esque, in my opinion :P ) Skull Grinder, who looks to be the most substantial of the Skull villains and will probably be a formidable foe for Ekimu as he seeks to reclaim his mask.

Overall, I'm lovin' this wave, even if it is only 5 sets (D:).

  10. IC: Nekka

As Nekka began to both wake up and get up, she initially jumped a bit, seeing as she was somewhere that was unfamiliar.  Unbeknownst to her, she had gone to Ashala's and slept.  She was way too tired to have noticed that, however.

As she went towards the lower level, she saw that Ashala was already up.  "Hello, sorry if I was asleep for too long."

  11. I'm entirely indifferent to there being a Dr. Who set, but that Wall-E is very well-designed and spot-on accurate, so it being made into a set is pretty neat.

    ~B~

Yeah, I really do look forward to the Wall-E especially as it was made by someone who worked on the movie itself (which explains the dead-on accuracies). And I also am not terribly excited for the Doctor Who set, but then again I'm not really a fan of the show, so I'd have no idea what it's about.

  12. IC: Banar

Banar was sitting on his bed, simply fidgeting around with some stones he had found when he heard a knocking on his door.

He got up and opened the door to see Johk.

"Oh, hey Johk, how are you?"

  13. IC: Banar

Banar woke up the next morning to see Gerox and Johk offering him part of the reward from turning in the rogue Skakdi.

He simply thanked them as he claimed his reward of 500 widgets.  As they left, Banar sat back down on his bed.  Though Banar had won his first battle, it wasn't a landslide victory, as Banar was quite injured.  He simply needed to rest, as unfortunate as it was.  As cocky as he could be, he knew that he couldn't do much in terms of practicing his powers with his current physical condition.

Banar curled on his bed (which was still too small for him) and began to fall asleep.

  14. IC: Banar

As Banar walked towards his hut, his eyes began to gaze at the sky, then to the ground as he reflected on today's events.

When he walked inside, he told Johk and Gerox, "I'm going to go to sleep for now; I've had one karz of a day."

Banar then curled in his bed, which was meant for a matoran and was much too big for a toa, and began to fall asleep.

  15.

I also got my mask of sensory aptitude in the mail today.  Unfortunately the axle connector didn't fit too well on a metru head, and using a mata head would reduce the poseability of the MOC I was planning on using it with.  It fits on a mata head just fine, though, and I'm using it on a matoran MOC.  Fitting, seeing as it fits matoran more than toa, I'd say.

Anyways, I was well aware the axle issue may be present, so I'm not surprised.  It's not your fault, though, and I still think you've done a fantastic job on all of these masks!  A lot of the new ones look enticing as well!  Keep it up!

It fits perfectly on the Av-Matoran head, if that might solve your problem.

That is true; I tried that.  Even then, it turned out that it looked a bit small for the MOC I was planning to use it on.  Besides, it's given me a new idea for a new character. :o  So it's still a win for me.

  17. They're definitely CGI, judging by the ultra-smooth movement and the glowing parts, though indeed a few were stop motion, such as the recent protector-toa combo build videos that were removed.

Oh, and I believe this may fit in the BIONICLE Discussion forum rather than General Art.  General Art I believe is for showcasing art, rather than discussing it.  Then again I could be wrong.

  18. Honestly, I'd love a new BIONICLE game, but only if it was done right. The two games we got pretty much ignored the plot gen 1 followed, plus the gameplay got repetitive and easy. If they can pull it off, though, then that'd be great. Hopefully they won't rehash the LEGO video game genre again, but chances of that happening are high.
