  1. Phogen thought for a moment, and nodded curtly. Phogen nodded, slowly agreeing. "Do not try anything rash. I support you for your reason and skill, not your temper." She slowly slipped a hand to Hoto's shoulder. He asked, in a clam, charismatic way "Would you like me to lead on? I offer out of respect, not pity. You can navigate yourself, there is little doubt of that, but I wish to make your trip as comfortable and leisurely as possible." He looked up, noting Kat's concern with a wry grimace. "I am sorry for my outburst. That word strikes a nerve with me."
  2. Phogen's head whipped around, and he stared coldly at Raptor. He hissed "Do not place me in the same camp as Toa. I am an machiavellian altruist, a powerful fighter, and a noble beacon of solidarity with the oppressed, under-appreciated, and underestimated of the student body, and I expect the same from all in my group. But I. Am. Not. A. Hero. Toa are 'heroes', and their filth has corrupted that word beyond redemption. Mark this well, scientist, for my forgiveness for such an offense is waning." Closing his eyes and exhaling slowly, he regained composure. OOC: Hold on y'all!
  3. Pay attention to when Phogen is male/female. It gives a bit more flavor to his/he character.
  4. She shrugged. "I have decided it is not my right to give such a gift. Talk to Snake. Perhaps he will permit it." He chuckled warmly. "Enigmatic, are we? Well, I am not sure what you would be doing in my little troupe, then. Whatever is necessary, I suppose." Phogen's eyes slowly lit up as the explanation was given. It was so simple, yet so exotic! Such perception! It almost made him forget about how Exxan reacted to her subtle physical tics. Almost. In any case, Hoto would prove her worth, no doubt. But how could he ensure her of his leadership? What small olive brach could he pass? ...sometimes, things were just so convenient. Voice dripping with sonically-enhanced guile, she said "Exxan, how about you let Hoto and I seek the diplomatic route, while you come along for effect? We might be able to show Fang his error without...unneeded exertion. And if he proves to be an uncooperative debater, we can still have you on standby with withering rhetorical stratagem."
  5. What is the Resistance?Uncouth opposition to Phogen's benevolence. And you're not biased at all, now are you? Would Fang be amenable to being the first true recruit of T.E.R.E.S./the Abyss? PS: T.E.R.E.S.: The Evolved Rahkshi Escape Society. It's a backronym, so sue me. TERES is the public face of the eventual rebellion, so nobody knows who is spreading discontent and leaflets and stuff at first. It's really pretty much the same people. Oh good! More people to roast over a slow fire and serve to the headmaster on a silver platter! *Phogen claps with glee*
  6. What is the Resistance?Uncouth opposition to Phogen's benevolence.
  7. Phogen crossed her arms and studied Revenge, trying to size him up. He was had to read. Fairly well-read, assuming his speech was an indicator, and he did not mince words. However, he had taken down the raging Omega. That took a degree of brawn. Overall, Revenge was a hard to analyze sort of Rahk. She decided to see what he thought of himself. "Depends. What sort of skillset do you possess?" Phogen gave the newcomer a nod, and a questioning eyebrow to Revenge. Phogen gave an imperceptible sniff of superiority at the mention of . Her calm, expression, however, made the others in the room think they imagined it. Phogen summoned memory of the sniper. "...and the one who attacked me, if I may hazard a guess." An eyebrow tweaked at this. The one with eyes could apparently not see Wraith's type, yet this bind one could. Intriguing indeed. Phogen's eyes went narrow, his voice dripping with curiosity, and he asked "Would you mind elaborating on your method of discovery?" Internally, he thought And how one might replicate such a gift? Were it an easy gift, Phogen would make sure to learn it himself. Were it irreplicable, then Hoto would need to be his ally. Were it difficult, but replicable, then Hoto took on a whole new level of value. He smiled curtly at this, studying Hoto with newfound interest. Phogen waved a dismissive hand. "No no, it makes little sense to search for an neigh-invisible needle in a haystack. A better plan would be to run a magnet across the surface, if you understand me. What do we know of Wraith's motives?" She casually outstretched an arm and gave it a firm clasp. Subtly, she released a tiny amount of sonic energy, sending the barest hint of a shiver up Exxan's extremity and down his spine. She smirked cooly at him, rolling her shoulders back in a pose of casual flaunting of her lithe waistline. "It is settled. So how can I assist?" A wider smile played at the corners of her mouth.
  8. IC Phogen Phogen gave him a nod and a smile. "Oh yes. I am gathering whom I consider to be the most capable. Furthermore, I hope to give them... Shall we say... A sense of purpose and a structure of leadership." He gave a shrug, casually smirking off the vagueness of his response. She leaned on the table and shook her head at him. Exxan still had a ways to go, despite his progress. Still, she would speak plainly with her... Well, he was not an equal, but he was close. "I want to know the significance of both the increase in level, and this Rahkshi population's unnatural intelligence. You are the best one for the job, and hence, I would like to utilize your enthusiasm for this study and my interest in the results to garner a more secure, if more professional than personal, relationship between what I judge to be the two most powerful students in this school." She waited for a response with more than a bit of a devilish spark in her eyes and smile. "I say we wait for our enemies to show themselves. For now, I am contented with gathering strength and intelligence, and letting them lick their wounds. It will only make the scars more memorable. In the meantime, give me a report of this... Wraith, is it?" OOC: Haircut. I will be back on in an hour or so. Maybe more.
  9. To extend your analogy, it is less like that, and more of a: Huh. Some stars at night travel along different paths at night, and they seem to have those paths in a similar plane, which makes me think they are separate from the other stars. Stranger still, those deviant stars sometimes move backwards along their path. There is a discrepancy here which must be analyzed further. Phogen is suspicious of why no complete map of the universe exists in the academy. It seems like a fairly significant thing for an academic institution to be missing. Whats more, a complete map has a noticeable pattern that conflicts with the notion of random, or even chaotic yet rule-governed geography. While it might take a genius to notice these discrepancies, it does not take a genius to figure out something is hidden there. Phogen does not know what. In his/her mind, the world looks like a being, which means it was probably designed, and those designers were beings. Any further implications (being inside a huge robot, the purpose of existence, the universe as a being, etc.) are not on her radar. Such wild speculation would be imprudent without more information. All she knows is that someone with authority does not want him/her finding out about this pattern. Of course, this means he/she wants to find out more, because why hide something that means nothing? Alternative train of logic: kraata become more aware of their master's plans as they level up. Having a hunch at level 3 is not wholly unbelievable. No no no, everyone knows the sun is a light bulb and the earth is flat. I beg to differ. The sun is a series of burning apples circling the Earth, which is a pear. Get your facts right, guys! You're all wrong! The Earth is simply the back of a giant turtle, and the sun is simply the turtle's eye, watching over us. Sheesh. You'd think they'd teach people better in school.Seriously? Cmon guys. THE EARTH IS THE SUN. I mean seriously. Show some respect for the scientific community.
  10. We know it has a pattern that looks a little like a body. We have no idea what the further implications are. I mean, Louisiana looks like a shoe, africa looks like a dinosaur skull, and the Universe looks like a dude.
  11. Phogen waved a dismissive hand. "Allow me to discuss it with Snake." OOC:....which I will need to do.
  12. Phogen mirrored the innocent pose with a shrug. "You're the scientist here."
  13. Squid is one of the few wild cards Phogen is at peace with leaving in the deck. That is how nice he is.
  14. He nodded. "Knee joint on typical armor, then. Use your own as a baseline." She chuckled and replied "Well, if you ever need a case study, I am more than willing to subject myself to your testing. After all, I am dolling it out for all currently present. Why not take a little test of my own?" She knew he would pick up on that hint in her sentence. He always could pick up subtleties like that. She smiled. "Congratulations. You have passed. I would recommend not sharing that revelation, however. I think our good headmaster would not want anyone but him discovering such a thing. I would not bring it up at this juncture. Unless, you know, you want to see what witness elimination through disintegration feels like."
  15. IC Phogen She came a small, self-assured snort, and then permitted herself a genuine emotional response, much to her own disgust. She rubbed the small front cap of her kraata casing (nose), and looked bashfully down at her feet, which shuffled a bit. She cleared her throat, regained her smug composure, and continued. "Your complements do not make up for your lack of empiricism. Where are your physical growth measurements? Vacuum density readings? Decibel maximum tests? Do you have any hard, cold data, supposed scientist?"
  16. IC Phogen "Yes." She slid the launcher back on with a twist. "What sonic frequency would shatter the protodermis allow used in Rahkshi armor?" She gave him a moody frown and a cross of the arms "Who said anything about a new alliance? The arrangement is the same as before, I just simply would like further involvement in your studies." Her frown had slowly morphed back into a curt smile
  17. Phogen nodded. "I think it is a great place to learn. I know I have grown much since I have started interacting with the other students. It also is excellent practice for employment in the Brotherhood. If you take the time to find intellectual company, it also makes for a good forum for ideas." Phogen nodded. "Impressive. You may look, but do not touch." Phogen smiled, teeth showing like a predator. She enjoyed this little sparring. "And why are those two goals conflicting instead of convenient?"
  18. He confidently crossed his arms across the front. "Yes. I would like to know what you think of this place. I hear you are from outside the walls, born of another Makuta, and I think that provides a unique perspective." OOC: Indeed you may go there, my good Kat.
  19. IC Phogen She decided to play it enigmatic, but straight. Leaning back a little farther, letting her chestplate and hips become more pronounced, she simply smirked and said "You aren't the only rahkshi with three levels, my dear associate." She idly fueled the motorspeak. "And what exactly does it launch?" He looked to Omega with a smile. "Thank you. Don't you feel better now?"
  20. That's kinda scary...Omega has earned some brownie points for that.
  21. What great potential does Omega have? http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/15652-corpus-rahkshi/page-63?do=findComment&comment=806814 *phogen slow claps*
  22. IC Phogen He smiled at the blind Rahk, giving her another tender pat on the forearm, detecting the unease. He cooed, caring and generous "You can go help her. It won't detract from a score or anything. I promise." He gave a warm chuckle at the end of this, letting Hoto know all was well. Releasing her, Phogen then turned to the new recruit that had approached. Phogen smiled. She could figure this one's test out in a flash. He was fascinated by everything. That bow of Snake's in particular. Time to give him a new case study. She removed the launcher from her arm with a snap and flourish. She set it on the table behind her. "Yes. I need you to figure out what this does, but I can't have you touching it. You seemed like the right man for the job. Very ordered, scientific, curious." Phogen then turned to Exxan, looking him up and down. He was lost in thought. She decided to pierce that shell with a question. "I'm surprised you are not studying this level transformation we have undergone. Is there a reason for that?"
  23. OOC: A map of the southern islands, a map of Metru Nui relative to Xia, with Karz not present. A torn map showing the relationship between the north and south continents relative to each other, and an aging, large papyrus map showing Zakaz, Stelt, Xia, and a poorly defined strip of the northern continent,
  24. Real. Not even kidding. Also, Phogen after her advances on Exxan were ignored:
  25. I love how he's not trying to be evil or malicious whatsoever, but you're still completely right. Phogen is not hearing any dealbreakers just yet.
