  1. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro (The Love Shack) Picking up their board and opening the door to outside, they looked a little disappointed. "Aw. I wanted to say goodbye, but that's okay. You can tell her for me, right?" Vent managed an optimistic grin, and a thumbs up. "I'll see ya around, big lady. I might be back again one day, you guys are way nicer than those other Toa I ran into." And with that, the Tiokaha put their Garai back on and jumped onto their board, a blast of air sending them soaring away quickly into the approaching dawn. Rose might hear an excited cheer as Vent disappeared. OOC: @Tarn Vent departs. They'll be back, don't you worry.
  2. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro (The Love Shack) "I did say I slept light!" The Tiokaha grinned, jumping up and out of the blankets like an excited weasel. "Skyra not back yet?" OOC: @Tarn
  3. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro (The Love Shack) A few hours passed, and as Rose awaited her wife's return, she'd probably notice Vent begin to stir. The speedster yawned, shifting under the blanket. It'd hadn't been long at all. "...Mornin'." They greeted, from inside. It wasn't really morning. OOC: @Tarn @Snelly
  4. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro They looked at Rose with a brief twinkle of curiosity, before yawning and nodding. "Ah. Well, good night Miss!" And with that, the Tiokaha laid their head on the wooden floor, and almost instantly fell asleep. OOC: @Tarn IC: Zai - The Rig The spiky Ta-Skakdi did little but enforce her lady's instruction, glowering at the mark. "You heard her." OOC: @Tarn @EmperorWhenua
  5. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro The Tiokaha caught the blanket, the fabric warm against their hands. Already, it beat sleeping rough in the cold wastes. Vent suddenly laid down on the floor, covering themself in the blanket and getting comfy. Even with the wooden floor, the warmth made it nice enough. What a nice couple! "How'd you two meet, anyway? Was it on the battlefield? Did you guys nearly kill each other?" Vent asked, removing their mask to get fully comfortable. OOC: @Tarn
  6. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro They made a face, before looking around the shack. "Should I...sleep on the floor? I mean, I don't mind. Just asking."
  7. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro "I am danger." They grinned, leaning against the shack wall. OOC: @Tarn @Snelly
  8. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro "Oh." They hadn't even realised that the settlement might have a leader. "Well, I'll stay here then. Don't want him to know there's a wanderer about. What's the word, vagrancy? Yeah, vagrancy, not allowed or something." Vent paused. "Don't tell him I'm here either, actually." OOC: @Tarn @Snelly
  9. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro "Thanks, lady." Vent looked very happy at this. "Old man Sans? Sans is kind of a weird name. What are you gonna talk to him about? Is he a soldier too?" Vent was tapping their foot again, their energy seemingly limitless.
  10. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro (The Love Shack) They hadn't thought of that. Travelling at night, even at the breakneck speeds they were used to, was quite dangerous. Vent sometimes caught the tail end of a raid aftermath when roaming the red sands of Zakaz, and it wasn't pretty. Danger was fun, though.... Vent looked to the both of them, and back to their board. "...Not exactly. I didn't mean anything by the crossword comment, by the way, I just dunno what you retired people get up to. But, no, not really. Can't tie myself down!" The Tiokaha grinned, although the prospect of staying in the shack rather than in whatever cave or ruin that they could find was very tempting. Very tempting. Another glance from their board to the couple. "Well, I mean...do you think I could hang here for a few hours? Just for a bit of shuteye, I really will be out of your hair after that. I'm a light sleeper." OOC: @Tarn @Snelly IC: Zai - The Rig (Mindfry) Zai's eyes glowed as she felt the exchange of power between her and Yumiwak. It felt good. It felt too good! A blast of fire shot into the sky above them as she laughed, the rush of energy overpowering her senses. She'd almost wished she'd torched Korio, instead, but Yumi wouldn't have liked that. The blast, combined with her spotty hearing, stopped her from hearing Yumiwak's conclusion. OOC: @EmperorWhenua @Tarn
  11. IC: Zai - Zakaz, The Mall The Mall wasn't where Zai felt the safest, truthfully. As a rule, the hedge-skak wasn't the most social of beings. Small talk and the like never had much meaning except to try to to get in closer with the other participant, or to kill time. Neither prospect was interesting to Zai. And the Riggers sprawling about The Mall made her particularly suspicious and on edge. Whilst the stories told about Yumi were somewhat humorous and definitely entertaining, they also indicated a hostility that kept her itching at her Kukri sheath with crimson claws. She'd gut any of these low-lifes if forced to, that was for certain. They almost made her appreciate Korio, she was certain he'd never try anything treacherous or murderous towards Yumiwak. Obviously, Zai was the first to volunteer when her princess requested. The Ta-Skakdi's hand shot forward, her will already practically Yumiwak's in any case. OOC: @EmperorWhenua @Tarn
  12. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro They paused, thinking. "...Yes. One of those, definitely. Anyway, that's boring. No use crying over spilled protodermis, I got plenty of other things to think about. Like this food, did I mention it was good? It's pretty good, though again I haven't eaten in a few days." The Tiokaha finished off the rest of the MRE, sighing with satisfaction and licking their lips. There was a brief moment of pause before they reached for their board. "Right, thank you very much. As I promised, I'll blast off for you now. Let you get up to whatever you retired army people do. Crosswords, maybe? I dunno."
  13. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro "Sorta, no, no, maybe and maybe again. Memories don't fit together like they should? Y'know like a puzzle, but the pieces don't jam together. And most of the pieces are missing." Vent dug into the MRE ravenously, wolfing it down like a hungry Hapaka. "Hmm. Tastes pretty good, thanks ladies!" The Tiokaha grinned, gratefully.
  14. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro Vent's golden eyes glanced away for a moment as they caught the MRE. He looked almost embarassed. "I...um...this will sound strange, but I don't remember?" A hand fiddled with the wrapper, managing to rip it open with their mechanical arm.
  15. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro (The Love Shack) They leaned against the wall, tapping their foot. "Well, sure. So long as it isn't made of Mahi dung or anything, I'll eat it. Not much of a picky eater, really. Least I don't think so." OOC: @Tarn @Snelly
  16. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro (The Love Shack) "The Army? Man, I'd hate the army. Gotta take orders, can't be using my board, man the army would suck. I mean, no offense or anything, ladies, I'm just saying, I'd rather not be court marshaled for blasting off when the going gets tough. Not a fighter, no sir." They looked around the shack, whistling as they leaned their board against the side. "Comfy place." Vent remarked. OOC: @Tarn @Snelly
  17. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro Vent happily followed behind the hulking Ta-Toa and Le-Toa, strapping his board to his back as he walked. "So, should I know your names? I'm not gonna be here long or anything, that just might be nice. You guys seem pretty cool." OOC: @Tarn @Snelly
  18. IC: Zai - The Rig Partially interrupting the brief conversation came Zai, as sleep deprived and suspicious as ever. She glowered at Korio, but bowed at her liege in respect. Zai hated Korio, the man's demeanour infuriated her. She wasn't sure why Yumiwak tolerated him, he rarely provided anything worth a widget other than ceaseless remarks and quips. It wasn't her place to question her leadership decisions, though, of course. Only to follow as ordered, as she had always done. "I apologize for interrupting, my lady, but I wondered if I could be of any use to you in any way. My duties otherwise have been concluded, and I would enjoy being of practical purposes in a mission!" The spiky Ta-Skakdi requested, ignoring the buffoon by Yumiwak as best she could. OOC: @EmperorWhenua @Tarn
  19. Name: Zai Species: Female Ta-Skakdi Faction: Riggers (Yumiwak) Description: Crimson, tall, terrifying. Somewhat sickly in build, but this is remedied by the unnerving look she has, with smaller spines and spikes across her arms and back, standing up behind her frills making her look almost like an angry hedgehog and red eyes that stare, constantly accusatory. She carries a long, thin scar across her left cheek. Powers: Her Skakdi Ability (Primary Ability) is a blade of pure energy she can summon from her chest. The ethereal sword does not do any physical damage, instead causing immeasurable, excruciating pain. The blade itself is a glowing red when summoned, and can be used at any time. Her vision power (Secondary Ability) is Impact Vision, and she has an innate elemental fire that she cannot unlock without another Skakdi (Species Quirk). Equipment: A large kukri that she keeps strapped to her leg, and a rigged up weapon built from a Kanoka launcher, that fires superheated metal discs (utilizing her element to heat the discs up). A couple of throwing knives, as well. Background: Worryingly dedicated to Yumiwak, Zai has served alongside her for a good chunk of time. Whilst her history is mostly unknown or uninteresting, it could probably be inferred from Zai's neurotic clinginess that her childhood was not good, though there aren't exactly any psychologists on Zakaz to find out. However, she's made a notable mark for her acts as an interrogator and enforcer, and to consider her useless because of her mental issues would be a massive, fatal oversight. Flaws: Suffers from psychosis and is clearly unwell, hearing can sometimes not work properly.
  20. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro "Sweet!" They ignored the odd looks, giving a thumbs up. "I'll be out of your hair as quick as I can, after. Which...is pretty quick, so don't you worry. Or do worry, it's a bit late now though." They just kept talking. OOC: @Tarn @Snelly
  21. IC: Vent - Zakaz, Metru-Koro (Introductions) "Oh, the name's Vent. Speed demon, wanderer, all that fun stuff. You guys got any food I can bum off you? I'm super hungry, haven't eaten in a few days!" They talked very fast, golden eyes wide in a constant adrenaline high.
  22. IC: Vent - Zakaz Refugee Camps ("Rolling Around At The Speed Of Sound") THWWOOOSSHHH! Skyra would feel the wind breaking before everyone else did, as a figure blasted through the refugee camp at incredible high speeds. The Tiokaha Bullet came to a halt just before crashing into the group of Rose, Skyra and the others, hopping off the board and catching the nose with a free hand, the other wiping their lenses clean with a giant grin on their face. Dust had gathered around them upon their landing. "Hey, how's it going?" They smiled. "Like the speech, a little on the long side, though." OOC: @Snelly
  23. Name: Vent Species: Genderless Aeta-Tiokaha (Mark of Spirit) Faction: N/A Description: Their armour is a smooth dark grey that is pleasant to the eye, with white lines akin to racing stripes across their armour. Their eyes are also a golden yellow. Vent has a more typically athletic build than the rest of their kind, but their large frame is still noticeable, looking much stockier than a Toa-equivalent, with an oddly tribal look to them despite their otherwise metropolitan and modern design. They also have an unplaceable accent, which whilst being melded with a common Metru-Nui dialect, can sometimes be picked up on. They wear a Noble Garai, with small lenses akin to those seen in goggles over the eyes. Their left arm is also prosthetic up to the elbow, and is quite blocky and mechanical in appearance. The launcher resides on the outside of their arm, by their elbow. Powers: Details are gone into in the document I linked (Thanks Onken), but to summarize, Vent is able to seperate their body from his spirit (Primary Power), similar to an Iden, but with the ability to possess empty bodies and fight for control over bodies with other spirits. This is very dangerous however, and due to Vent's lack of training could result in them being trapped in someone else's body, against their own will. Aeta spirits are also able to interact with other spirits physically, but the reverse is not true (an Iden user cannot touch an Aeta spirit but an Aeta spirit can touch an Iden user due to ethereal strength) As an aside, Vent also has an innate love and skill with his hoverboard and can even perform surprisingly complicated tricks on the board itself. Equipment: The Noble Garai grants Vent limited power over the gravitational pull of other people, though again to a limited degree (Secondary Power), and the built in lenses help to shield their eyes from dust or sand. Their hoverboard is his main asset, however, a design not dissimilar to a Metru-Nui spec board. With sharp angles and a light blue paintjob, the board carries them with incredible speed across the air, though it is designed for low altitudes specifically (with some effort it can go to high altitudes for a limited amount of time) The board is wild to control for newcomers but since Vent still remembers how to use it well, they make the best of the added speed. There is a number 7 sprayed in white on the front and back of the board. It also has a yellow neon light at the back and front, which can be turned on and off. Vent's arm is also entirely prosthetic up to his elbow, and as a result has been enhanced by mechanics to have a much stronger grip as well as, more interestingly, a Rhotuka launcher built in. The Rhotuka that Vent utilizes has the effect of the victim temporarily losing control of their body (though the spirit still remains inside). This effect lasts no more than five seconds, however. Vent also now has a pet Mahi named Rufus. Rufus is an excitable young Mahi much like Vent themself and loves to race along them. They have a fondness for apples, if they can find them. Background: Nicknamed after the vents on their board, Vent was an underground hoverboard racer who, after a head injury following the Event, has forgotten much of their past, only recent fragments being what they remember now. All they know to do now, after the Event, is fly. Their life consists of drifting and wandering, and hopefully finding out their past along the way. And do some sick tricks on their board, more importantly. Flaws: Vent is impulsive and an adrenaline junkie, making them likely to do things for the sake of making them feel energized and to enjoy the rush. They are also not a fighter by any means, meaning that they are consistently at a disadvantage when forced into one.
  24. A large chunk of it may be my own fault (too many characters perhaps) and also interaction lock quite a lot of the time. That eventually makes me slow at posting and I start to lose interest, eventually.
