  1. I think everyone would agree a TV show would be awesome, as long as it was done well. That would be the ultimate gift to bionicle fans. It could lead up to movies and have a graphic novel series that follows along with it. It could be so awesome if done right. It all just depends on how much lego is willing to put into it. They're definitely trying to highlight it currently, the window and display set ups at lego stores are centered around bionicle right now. As long as gen2 takes off like ninjago or chima did, I think we can definitely expect a TV show. If it flubs and doesn't do well, we will probably see it discontinued again in a couple years.

  2. Is there a golden ignika one? If not I'd love to see one of those. You guys are killing it by the way. These all look awesome.

Also, I'd love to see phantoka lewa's miru, or a phantoka lewa in general. That would be the coolest ever.

  3. I think that since the animations are super cartoon like, it's okay for onua to be dramatically bigger. If the animation was more realistic, like in the movies, then I could see it bothering me. As long as the animation is super cartoony, it doesn't bother me. If they do a movie for it an animate it like the others, I imagine his size would reflect the size of his set more closely.

Also, has anyone seen episode 8 and 9 on YouTube? They're in Spanish but they're subtitled. You can tell the subtitles are a little off but the videos are pretty awesome and offer more insight with the skull villains.

I still hate that gali's voice is a dude. Unless she's now a dude and I just missed that detail.

The only detail you're missing is that none of the characters are actually "voiced," per se. It's all the narrator doing the voices.

Yes but it still insinuates that the characters themselves are talking, with the eye flashing and body language. I wish they had given each of them a different voice actor, or at least a different voice. Seems like a cut corner to me.

  5. Mata gali, kopaka, and lewa. I combined them into their kaita form and then at somepoint it ended up in a big tub of legos. When I went back years later after getting back into it, I had discovered a lot of pieces were missing or literally snapped in half. I since re bought them and the remaining three mata.

Edit- I was digging in an old Lego bin the other day and found a tarakava. I completely forgot I had them. That was definitely my first set. I tried to make everyone in my family fight with them with me. 14 years. Such a long time. I barely remember it.

Dang all this talk about people not being able to find sets makes me feel so lucky to have a local Lego Store. Are there not many Lego store fronts?

There are a decent number of Lego stores (with more opening every year), but they're not nearly as plentiful as retailers like Wal-Mart, Target, or Toys R Us. In the United States alone, there are numerous states without a single Lego store; outside the U.S., there are entire COUNTRIES where Lego's physical presence is negligible. Those kinds of areas rely on local retailers and distributors for Lego products, and have no physical locations dedicated solely to the Lego brand.

I've since researched the stores located in the USA and I see they are pretty rare. I guess I just assumed that if there's one I'm connectocut, then they must be all over. I forget I come from s very affluent area though and that probably has a lot to do with the fact that theres one at the local mall. Lego stores rule.

  7. Personally, I've always been drawn to both the sets and the story. The story enhances my enjoyment of the sets, and the sets enhance my enjoyment of the story, but I also enjoy the sets and the story for their own reasons.

    This exactly.

Edit: Please try to add a little more substance to your posts!

  8. Pretty awesome! You should do other masks so a person could choose their Bionicle-persona's kanohi.

Personally, I would rather have the Three Virtues tattooed, but that that's just me. I prefer symbology over traditional art when it comes to things like this, such as the Labarum (Chi Rho).

Thanks! I've thought of doing a whole set with each page being a different wave of masks.

As far as the three virtues symbol, I have that as a tattoo myself actually.

  9. my memory is way too bad for this. The trust in your mask one is probably the best. Only a real fan would most likely know and people like me who suffer from terrible memory wouldn't miss the boat on it.

Drew and painted this in a style suitable for tattooing.  I would love to tattoo any of these if any of you live in the Connecticut area.  You can reach my by my email, jake@hatcitytattoo.com

  11. I think we have to wait and see what really is going to happen with the new generation.  I think we're all looking back at gen1 with nostalgia and a bit of romanticism.  If i remember correctly (i was only 10 at the time) we didn't get there whole story as soon as they dropped the product line.  At least i don't remember it that way.  Yes i do agree that the videos on the lego site are pretty weak, but there is plenty of room for this story to become way awesome.  I mean look at how long they kept gen1 going.  So far I really like the gen2 sets, and that's the most important factor to me.  Yes the story is important, but theres still room for that to grow and become something sweet.  Or maybe they'll just sideline the story and try to just push the sets.  Either way I'm pumped as ###### for the summer sets.  Skeleton warriors and scorpions and bashers? yeahhhhhh.  Also the mask of creation MIGHT just be the coolest mask yet.
