  1.

It's nice... for something that mainly going to be in your pocket all the time, unless being used to something else.

Call me weird, but I have an all-in-one thermometer/magnifying glass/compass/whistle, two flashlights (one having a laser pointer), and a medallion that bears my state's seal all on my key-chain. :P Would I add this to there? Probably not as I prefer the shape and look of the original Hau, but if one could pull a switcharoo you bet thine behind that I would add that to my increasingly growing key-chain.

Great job to he who performed sub-creation here. :D

Thankith thee. It was pretty easy to pull off I just took an existing keychain, bent the attaching ring open with pliers, used a nail and hammer to slowly punch a hole in the mask, slipped the ring in and bent it back into shape and voila, bonkle chain

  2. I respawn on a cloud right above you. After my few seconds of immortality runs out, I drop and grab a a freshly spawned hammer. I land with it directly on your head instantly KO you. After the hammer disappears, I grab the mask, sprout wings, and fly away.

    My mask

  3. I wake up in a cell in a secret basement prison. I use a toothpick stored under my tongue to dig a hole down into the sewage system. I trudge along until I track you walking down the street. I pop out of a sewer hole and sick an army of mutant sewer rats I've befriended on you. They eat off your hands and you run away, leaving the mask in the middle of the street. I walk over and pick it up.

    My mask

  4. The beast you threw someone into had just eaten me just a few minutes ago. MIB style, I use a laser blaster to explode him from the inside out. The beasts head goes flying and lands on you, knocking the mask out of your hands. I walk over and pick it up.

    My mask!

Edit-didn't know there was a filter for MIB

  5. This is a tough question to answer clearly.

Favorite: EDIT - I went back and thought really hard and i change my answer to 2005.  Story wise and set wise.  The titans are absolutely my favorite, the toa hordika were awesome (even as clone like as they were), the visorak were awesome, and the rahaga were some of the coolest smaller sets.

The story is my favorite chunk of the story as well.  It's incredibly dark and twisted, and it always really roped me in.

Least favorites: set wise definitely 2006. To this day I still just don't like the inika. They're so ugly and not in a good way. They just don't fit with the rest of bionicle. I was always real mehhh about the piraña as well.  They've grown on me more recently. Story wise they're pretty great but as far as looks go, they're more goofy than evil looking. Maybe that was the point. Either way 2006 is my least favorite builds.

Story wise, I'll go with the majority and say the ending. It just didn't end well. Too abrupt and just bleggghhh. Oh well.

2015 is awesome so far. The sets rule and I'm excited to see how the story really does play out in the books and graphic novels. Party time.

  6. Honestly I'm going to hazard the opposite idea about the masks, and say the trans orange and blue masks represent the masks fully drained in story. The teaser for this wave had the forge with red and blue energy flowing from it. Instead of the two not getting snatched I wonder if those two are the ones that get fully melted or destroyed or what not.

The reason I'd argue against this, is that the half trans masks trans color is not that of the original color. The bone villains colors are ones that are not primary with the toa. Therefore if a bone villain were to drain or alter their (tahu and gali) masks, it would seem to fit that they wouldn't be red and blue anymore. That being said this is all speculation so who knows. Personally I agree with the sentiment that the trans tahu and gali masks as they are currently released will have no story significance. Time will tell.

edit-I just made the realization that the trans color of the Inflicted masks match the corresponding trans pieces of the toas masks.

I'm curious as to when we'll be seeing the blended masks of fire and water. If, that is, we get them at all.

I think the red translucent Tahu mask will have something to do with that, as well as Gali's.
I seriously doubt that those two masks will substitute for the blended ones, or, for that matter, have any relevance to the story.

Will we see blended Tahu and Gali masks? I don't know. But even if we don't see them at all this year, we still shouldn't rule it out completely. Just look at Ninjago—last year's "minifigure cube" from Target included a "Lloyd DX" figure (Lloyd not having even been a ninja when the others wore the DX costumes), and this year's cube will include a "Stone Armor Kai" figure (despite the stone armor only being relevant at the end of last year's story, and only Zane and Lloyd featuring it in sets). So a retroactive release like that is far from impossible for Bionicle, as well.

Of course, I also wonder what colors blended Tahu and Gali masks would even be. Would they be Trans. Fluor. Reddish Orange and Trans. Light Blue, to match Tahu and Gali's armor? Or would they be Trans. Yellow and Trans. Blue, to match their Protectors' blended masks? I wonder if that ambiguity is part of why Lego opted for the other four masks for the Skull Villain sets...

I don't think that's why they chose the other masks. The trans color of each of the four masks matches the trans pieces of the skull villain set they come in. I think that's clearly a sign that the villains steal and taint their masks somehow in the story. If that is indeed true, then maybe gali and tahu don't get their masks snatched off by villains. All in all, we'll understand a LOT more when we get to see the summer series of animations and the book.

  8. I think the reason people are naysaying the lack of fine detailing is that it makes the parts less special. G1 bionicle parts were for the most part very specific to bionicle alone. The new ccbs parts aren't as exclusive, aside from the masks and weapons and select pieces. That sentiment I do partly agree with. The pieces of bionicle g1 were and are very dear to me.

That being said, I do agree with you about g2 though. What it lacks in specific detailing, it makes up for in over-all asthetic. Like you said, onua now blatantly looks like he possesses the hulking strength he was always supposed to have. Tahu looks brave a fierce. Pohatu looks tough and fast. Gali looks graceful. Etc etc. ccbs has allowed them to shape the bodies of the characters in a much greater way than the old bionicle system did. In order to acieve alternate body shapes, you really had to work with the pieces and try to come up with something. Now, with the usage of shells and add ons and various bones, you can easily sculpt the physique of the characters.

As for the bone daddies coming soon, I LOVE the bone bones. They look awesome. Any and all naysayers are whack Arnold.

  9. Pohatu's 2015 mask is definitely the toughest looking one of the bunch, and I do think it's a pretty good evolution of the kakama. The only masks that I feel don't resemble their original forms are gali's and lewa's, but I still very much like their new masks. I like that onua's is more or less the same just smaller and more to scale with the rest of the masks.

Edit- regitnui already said half of what I said. Oops.

  10. The fact that people think lego owes the bionicle fan base something is pretty ridiculous. They didn't have to bring it back. They brought it back because we so desperately begged for it to come back. Bionicle is their creation though, not ours, and therefore they have the right to do whatever they want with it. They didn't need to bring it back to save the company a second time. If anything, they brought it back because they're doing so well that they were willing to take the risk of reviving a dead toyline. Hopefully the new generation will sell just as well as the old one. If we're the only people who buy g2 sets, then it will be dead at the end of three years.
