  1. The Ultimate sets are pretty sweet and take up very little shelf space. I already have all the sets I want so far, except the fortrex. They don't have that one at my local B&N yet. I also don't have a spot for it on a shelf yet. Moving back into my parents house has definitely cut down on my shelf space drastically. I still need to clear out room for the 2016 bionicle sets.

So far I have ultimate clay and Macy, lances Mecha horse, Clays rumble blade, moltors lava smasher, and my favorite, Jestro's evil mobile. They're all pretty incredible sets. So far I am super impressed with the effort Lego has pumped into these. Hopefully the show lives up to these sets.

  2. I'm just going to go over the new gear function, since I don't think it's been said outright anywhere here yet.

The new sets absolutely positively 100% have waist-articulation, the same way that Teridax had it in 2003 - spin that gear on the back of their waist, and the entire upper-body will rotate.

It uses a capped size 4 axle running through a new "gearbox" piece (to which the legs attach), and a small gear on the back connects to the large gear in the waist.

The only thing is, it doesn't seem to have any added friction, which really irritated me about Teridax's function...Unless there's some kind of friction built into the gearbox itself, anyway.

See, I think that they use the new friction pin that has a double long axle side, the one that came with LoSS, to attach both sets of gears to the hip piece. That way, there should be enough friction to keep them stable. At least hopefully. After how well they did the gears for this year, I can only imagine they treated the 2016 sets with the same level of care.
  3. Oh man this movie dominated my life for like half a year.  Definitely my favorite of the 4 movies.  It was the only one I actually owned a physical copy of back in the day.  I was in high school when it came out, and practically everyday, I would watch it when I got in bed after attempting to do homework.  I always kept my love of bionicle hidden from my friends.  I had all of my figures posed on my desk and dresser, and I would never invite people to my house, I would always go to other peoples houses to hang out.  Man thinking about this is bringing up some wild stuff in my head from my past.  I can't believe that was a decade ago.  Crazy.

  4. Where did he get that idea? Usually the bad guys were out first, and it took forever for the heroes to come out.

He obviously had no idea what he was talking about, and was just trying to engage a customer (me).  Little did he know........

I think he was just trying to be nice and have a conversation with me.  I've talked to him before and he's a really nice, but always very nervous, dude.  He's definitely a big gamer, and I assume he suffers from a similar amount of social anxiety all nerds like us tend to feel at times.

  5. I tried to talk to a Lego store employee about bionicle a couple of days ago. I asked him what he thought of the reboot and he said "I like the new sets way more, mostly because they actually have bad guys to fight. In the original, it took forever for bad guys to come out."

I laughed nervously and changed the subject........

  6. My girlfriend is supportive of it.  A lot of my friends bust my stones about it, but it doesn't bother me.  I have a second instagram account as well for mainly bionicle stuff.  I wish I had just one IRL friend I could talk to about it.  I love being able to post here and in other places, but it would be nice to have someone I can face to face talk bonkle with.

  7. The sets are what hooked me when I was a kid. I never truly liked regular actions figures because of their usually detailing and lack of joint flexibility. When I got mata gali, that changed everything for me. I loved everything about it. The masks, the weapons, the fact that it was a Lego theme, the colors, the tribal island, all of it. I loved it all. The story that came with it only made it better.

  8. I literally had one last night.  I was outside NYCC and there pictures posted on the internet of 4 exclusive bionicle sets being sold at the lego booth; an alternate toa mata nui titan set, an alternate titan takanuva set, and two others I couldn't make out/can't remember.  There were only like 4 copies of each set available.  I was trying to get tickets to go inside and woke up before I ever made it in.

  9. Great video. I very much appreciate the fact that you definitely thought this out before hitting the record button.

Personally, I disagree when it comes to the protectors names and skull Scorpio. I think the names, as weird as they are, do go together quite well, and actually reflect the respective chapters element. As far as skull Scorpio, I really like everything about him, except for maybe the fixed legs.

That all being said, I liked your video a lot and your speech at the end darn near brought a tear to my eye. Great job!
