For obvious reasons, I haven't blogged in a while. Hence, I'll have to write up another one of those huuuuuge what-I've-been-up-to blog entries to make up for it. In the meantime, though, quick list of stuff I got for my birthday (so far, but I'm not sure I'm gonna get any more):
$50 from my grandmother Like 10 mini Reese's cups (my favorite candy EVAR, by the way) Sandish-green T-shirt with oooold classic Mountain Dew logo Blue T-shirt with a whole lot of reasons why being a guy is awesome (Example: being able to shower and get ready to go somewhere within 10 minutes) White T-shirt with Mario Kart Wii logo Yellow T-shirt with a Super Mario World design and Japanese text So yeah, I'll try to get pics eventually, except of the money. =P

This latest comic is so totally me.

I was even planning on playing my new Half-Life 2 for the first time this evening before I read this!

Y'see, a couple months ago I bought Orange Box at a crazy $10 price it was selling at for only one weekend. I haven't been able to play it due to two things: My computer's not powerful enough, and it only had 1GB hard drive space left (each game can be about 5-6GB). I knew I wouldn't regret buying it, though, and I was right. As of a few days ago I have access to a computer I was delighted to hear was approximately a gazillion times better than my regular computer. I promptly installed my Orange Box games and have been playing through them! I beat Portal the other day, and practiced on Team Fortress 2 with Takuma Nuva, and I planned to try out my Half-Life 2 today!

Oh, the coincidence gets weirder. I was playing around with a tape measure not a half hour ago, and decided to figure out how far I could extend it without it bending and collapsing. I got to exactly eight feet. Then something occurred to me... Another strip yet again exactly like my life:

Any readers have crazy coincidences you'd like to share?

Okay, so you probably read my entry about coincidences below, right? Well, it got weirder.

Last night, I dreamed about Glatorian Legends finally coming out at my Wal-Mart, and the last part of my dream I was gawking at them on the shelf. I vividly remember all the Glatorian Legends cost exactly $12.66, except Stronius which I was planning to buy on this dream trip to the store. He cost $12.86, and I was upset in my dream about this strange 20 cents more he cost. Oh, and also, the regular Glatorian were on sale, but I don't remember how much. I wasn't focusing on them because I already had all of them.

So then I wake up, go through my morning routines, and sat down at my computer. First thing I do is open my browser, on which BZP is set as the homepage. What do I see as the top news article? This.

    Somebody halp meh pleez D8

Oh, also, I posted this as close to 12:34:56 07/08/09 (Central time) as I could, in celebration of 123456789 Day! =D
Darn browser froze as I posted it. It was drafted by the right time, but not published until I could unfreeze the browser...

I went to Brickworld for pretty much the entire day, and had a BLAST. I got TONS of BrickArms custom Lego guns, and took photos of almost everything there! It would have been EVERYTHING, but my camera's battery died after the 400 12MP photos I took... Gallery as soon as I can figure out how to batch resize 400 photos without killing my computer, and upload 400 photos at once without killing Brickshelf.

UPDATE: Here's my picture of my BrickArms collection, tagged so you know what's what! =D

Also, I halved the size of all my photos, bringing the filesize down to 33% of what it was. Hopefully Brickshelf won't mind 300 MB of file transfer in a zip...

...is full of awesomeness. Like, seriously.

(note: linked photos are all 2,000 x 1,500 pixel approximately 200kb jpegs (half the original size, XD), they may load slow depending on your connection speed.)

It was my first Lego convention ever. I went last year because it is extremely close to me compared to other conventions. I expected it to be some small thing with some tables showing off some Bionicle inventions. I walk in the lobby to pay to go in, and there are some cool Mindstorms-powered working slot machines someone made. I'm all "Cool, maybe they'll have one or two Mindstorms things that do some complex thing!". My dad pays up for him, me, and my brothers, and he also pays for some t-shirts (with this logo in b/w on the back) and pins for souvenirs. We walk down a hall on our way in, and I hear the sound of tons of people talking growing louder. I walk in the door.

    Glorious...

It was nothing like I expected. I was greeted by a huge table with Jurassic Park scenes portrayed throughout the entire park. I was all "OH MY GOSH" and took tons of photos. Then I look up from that. The whole, huge room is FILLED with stuff even more awesome than that. Huge, ceiling-high models of buildings like the Sears Tower (and the ceiling in that room was very high). Crowds and crowds of people. Vignettes and MOCs of everything imaginable. Booths for stuff I never imagined existed, like BrickArms custom Lego guns (GASP WHY DIDN'T I GET A PHOTO OF THAT) and Kaminoan Fine Clonier minifig decals and custom minifigs. A guy selling people the opportunity to make custom minifigs out of this huge bin with pieces even as old as the original Space theme (but I got there late in the day, when those were all snatched up)!

Brickworld is coming up this weekend. I will be going on Saturday's open hours. If you live anywhere near Wheeling, Illinois, you HAVE to go. You won't regret it, I promise.

Who reading this is going / decided to go after reading this? =P

P.S., as an added bonus I included a link to a hidden photo of something mysterious! You're awesome if you found it on your first go-through.

As Dr. Seuss so well put it in one of his books, "It's a Great Day for Up!"

As most of you (should) know, Disney/Pixar's latest movie Up came out just today. Has anyone here seen it yet? Even though I've already entirely made up my mind and I'm GOING to see it and I WILL like it, anyone wanna tell me how it was (spoiler-free, of course)?

Yeah, I'd blog way more if I had more ideas... So I guess I'll just give you some random updates of me!

    ---
    TV shows I've been watching:

For the last several weeks, I've been borrowing the DVD box sets for MacGyver from a family I know who has every single season. It's awesome watching a classic old show for the first time. I'm almost done with season 4! Richard Dean Anderson is awesome as MacGyver and as Colonel Jack O'Neill from Stargate: SG-1. Y'know, that show really makes me want a Swiss Army Knife...

The Unit is a slightly less family-friendly show, unfortunately, but I enjoy a lot of aspects of it. My dad bought seasons 1-3 on DVD, and I already finished them. It's a show depicting this elite special forces group who thwarts terrorists and rescues people and such. Thing is, they're totally top secret, and therefore can't get any credit for any things they do. They're basically supposed to be the best of the best picked out of the U.S. Army. This show probably wouldn't be as interesting to me if I hadn't been playing the free first-person shooter game Combat Arms. I can pick a lot of comparisons on how they operate with how I just normally play my game. Since I'm best as a sniper on Combat Arms, you can probably guess that episodes involving snipers on The Unit are my favorite ones.

Lately, I've been watching Doctor Who episodes with Turakii #1 Lavasurfer and Laughin'Man in an interesting way. You see, I like downloading episodes of TV shows I like, and I happen to have every episode of the current Doctor Who series (all 4 seasons and the Christmas Specials) on my computer here. So, I file transfer the episodes to Turakii and LM, and we start watching them in sync, giving our comments as we watch. Turakii and I already have seen all these episodes, we're watching them for LM's sake, so he gets to see all the episodes like us! =D We just finished all of season 1 the other night, but he's seen various other episodes throughout the other seasons.

    Video Games:

I haven't been playing as much of my games on Wii or DS as I'd like to, these past few weeks, but I do have a couple updates regarding my gaming. First off, a couple weeks ago, I hacked my Wii to play homebrew applications (fanmade programs designed to install on your Wii if it's been hacked to be able to do so)! The hacking was actually way easier than it sounds, don't think of me as some "über-hacker" for being able to do this. I literally followed instructions online, and I used a glitch in the game Twilight Princess (which I borrowed from a friend for this) to install the Homebrew Channel application. Now all I have to do is load apps onto the SD card and run them! I've got a mapping app, a port of Doom, a port of Quake, and -tons- more.

Next off, last week I bought myself Pokémon Platinum, which I am very much enjoying! I'm still trying to get Laughin'Man to get it too, and he says he'll probably get it near the beginning of April when he's got money. NOT SOON ENOUGH, I SAY! >8(
If anyone familiar with Diamond or Pearl (or even Platinum) is wondering how far I am, I'm at Pastoria City training for the gym. I've beat 4 gyms so far.

As I mentioned before, I've been playing this Combat Arms PC game for a while now, and I've gotten pretty good. It's awesome that I get to play alongside Takuma Nuva and Torhuki. Anyone who reads Takuma's blog should know that he recently posted his latest caption contest image, which depicts him so kindly about to headshoot me. I'll have you know that I made a screenshot at the same instant! Check it out!

    Real life:

Very strangely, though it was warm for a long time beforehand, it snowed yesterday morning! We got a couple inches, enough to cover the grass completely. By mid-afternoon, though, it was gone! Vanished into thin air! Poor Mr. Snowman left home yesterday to go on a business trip, but when he returned home, everything was gone! Poor Mr. Snowman, all alone in the world...

I BLAME THOSE WHO DISLIKE WINTER FOR THIS MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE. D8<

Well, that's all, I hope I didn't kill you with this remarkably long blog entry. Hopefully I'll think of more (short entry) ideas to blog about soon.

    Completely, entirely insane. Clinically insane.

    Why, you may ask?

    Gaze upon my awesomeness!

Yes, that is what it appears to be. No, it is not 'shopped. Just an extremely good sale at my local Wal-Mart.

Oh, yeah, if any of you were planning to steal some, don't bother. I've got the perfect defense system activated and guarding them. Behold my Lazorcat Defense System!

EDIT: Hey, well whaddayaknow? I found another Axalara not pictured here just in the other room. Go figure! =P

...Known from coast-to-coast like butter and toast!
From headlines to deadlines, from schoolrooms to poolrooms!
No other place in the contiguous United States or other environments of the world!
    Welcome!

Yep, that's right, I stole Laughin'Man's blog's old theme! (With permission, of course. )

So, yeah, I'm pretty much a huge Tally Hall fan. Hence my blog theme change, and my avatar and signature change. I've had plans to do this for a long time, but due to procrastination/indecision (remember last post? ), I didn't get around to it until now.

For those of you who don't know, Tally Hall is a rock band that was formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan in '02, and since then they've become fairly successful, though not yet a household name. Their signature outfits are white shirts with different colored ties, depending on the band member. Their songs are pretty upbeat and catchy, and sometimes very random (in a good way, at least to me), and I've been told they sound a little like the Beatles in some songs. (Beatle-lovers on BZP, I'm not saying they are the same, nor am I saying I think Tally Hall is better. )

So I ask you this, BZPers-who-are-actually-reading-this-obscure-blog, have you ever heard of Tally Hall? Have you ever heard a song by them? One music video they made for a school project way back then showcased their song "Banana Man," and became very popular online, so you may have heard that.

If you are a fan of Tally Hall as well, by all means let me know! (Minus Laughin'Man, who I made a fan. )

On another note, I was GOING to change my blog theme recently, but someone took the idea totally exactly as I had it (name, blog image, first post intro), minus the long entry I had typed up in a Word file. They literally put up theirs within a couple hours of my plans to... >_>

Also, I've been procrastinating on thinking of a blog theme in the meantime until they change it to something else. Any ideas?

    Oh yeah, I should probably get around to changing my BZP info. Oh, and my interests. And my avatar. And my sig. And clear out my PM box. And get a life. ;.;

As I'm sure many, many, MANY people are doing, I'm posting a "HAPPY NEW YEAR" entry! ...Well, except for one thing. I'm not talking about 2009. I'm talking about a mystery year you shall NEVER KNOW. AHAHAHAHA.

Also, Laughin'Man brought to my attention a spam e-mail claiming to be from Bill Gates. I'm here to tell you it absolutely cannot be from Bill. You see, he's my buddy, and I should know, he doesn't talk like that in his e-mails! Here's a good example of one of the many e-mails he's sent me.

Now, obviously he's a good-natured guy who likes to joke around and stuff. He's not some internet newbie who thinks the Nigerian Prince scam will save him from some minor loss in the stock market. I won't let my good friend Bill get insulted like that.

Oh yeah, he really didn't give me a couple million bucks. Really! *hides wallet*

Wow, has it really been since the 9th that I last blogged? I need moar ideaz...

For now, at least, Laughin'Man posed a good question chatting with me the other night. Anyone care to theorize on this quite interesting point?

    Comment away!

    ...My head...

Yeah, so, I didn't get enough sleep last night. I've got a job, though, that requires me to be out the door by 9 AM. (I run errands for my dad's business, like collecting mail from the P.O. Box and depositing checks at the bank later) Well, as it was, I was asleep at 8:55 AM, and pretty deeply asleep. My mom was walking upstairs, and called to me as she was walking past that I was late and needed to get up. Well, I did. In about a half a second. For -no reason at all-, I almost literally jumped out of bed (not out of fear at all, just me wanting to get up), and started rushing to get ready. It was only when I made it downstairs that I had the time to realize I had a pounding headache from waking up and jumping out of my bed in about a second. ><

Well, long story short, I got excused from going out the door by 9 sharp (which I could have done, but I'd have been half-asleep and that's not safe for driving on icy roads), so I used that time to wake myself up completely. Still have the headache, though.

Sorry I've not been blogging since I got my lifetime premier, I really haven't had much inspiration. LM, Turakii, and Takuma should be able to pound an idea in my head eventually, though. =)

    ...or at least SHOULD be...

After searching about 3 stores yesterday, I FINALLY found one with the new sets! I got Toa Onua (Who is awesome), and Takanuva (WHO IS EXTREMELY AWESOME). =P

Yesterday I played for a long time on Pirates Online, and I even recruited a couple BZP members for it in the past couple days! At this point, our Guild (club) contains:
David Wavetamer (me) Michael Wavetamer (my brother who stole my last name. =P) Samuel Goldrage (DudeNuva) Sven Lockshot (Torhuki) Takuma Darkblade (Takuma Nuva) Laughing Man (you know who this is. XD) Laughing Girl (Turakii's name) DJ Reidak the Destroyer (DJ Reidak) Yep, there are a lot of us on there!
EDIT: I'll edit this whenever another BZP member joins our Guild. Yesterday, we added DJ Reidak.

Now, this may be the last entry I get to make, since BZP's birthday week is over today, just contact me if you have an account on Pirates or plan to get one, we love having BZP members around on there!

I've gotta say, The Dark Knight was AWESOME. I agree, it's quite evil and dark, but it made it that much more edge-of-your-seat suspenseful. It almost seemed too long to me, but that was only because I wasn't expecting it to go past a certain point, but I think if I hadn't thought it would end where I did, I would have thought the length to be perfect. [/confusing]

I loved the acting in this movie, especially that of (the late) Heath Ledger, he really formed an awesomely insane, irrational Joker. So many plot twists in this movie it was crazy, and I loved every minute of it!

I guess that's about it for now, I can't be on the computer for long before I go to youth group this evening.

    Oh, yeah, one more thing....

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «I totally called the bomb-inside-the-criminal scene. I heard the guy talking about how his insides just didn't feel right, and I was thinking inside, "Oh, no.... He DIDN'T... Yep, he did." =P

I'll slightly recap what I did yesterday, as I didn't do an evening Blog post as I had planned. Yesterday I had some fun talking with Laughin'Kitty (Laughin'Man), -Legolas- (DudeNuva), and RC-1344 Tor (Torhuki) about our future plans in the MMO Pirates of the Caribbean Online. It was the first time I and LM had Tor in our instant messaging buddy lists yesterday, but we all had a fun time.

As for today, I actually plan to run out the door and hopefully get to see The Dark Knight any minute now. Hooray!

Last time I tried (last Saturday), they were actually sold out of all tickets for IMAX and regular 35 mm for the next couple days (IMAX for the next 5 days after then...). According to my theater's website they are not sold out, but I'll just have to hope that's true, as they said the same thing last time.

Well, if I don't go now I may be late, so I'll hit the road now! I'll try to post an entry of how the movie was when I get back.

Okay, so as a few of you know already, I went specifically to the Six Flags Great America park the other day, because it was closest to my area (which I will not tell to you. =P). I got there probably somewhere around 9:30 AM or so, and stayed until... waitaminute... 9:30 PM!!! Oo... Okay, readers, I literally didn't notice that until I typed this. =P I didn't get photos, unfortunately (you aren't allowed to have a backpack or anything with you on the rides, they make you leave it at the beginning of the line in lockers or a friend's hands)

I went on a lot of rides, mostly the coasters, throughout the day. Some of them multiple times. Almost all the experiences of I absolutely loved.

(I'm not a coaster person, personally. I only got into them late April and early May on my Disney World trip. When I say "got into them", I mean went on each about 7 times per park day on average. =P)

I think I'll start with some of the worst and go to the best, though this list may be slightly hard to order considering I liked a whole bunch equally. Readers, don't take this list as the official countdown list by me, I'm just trying to make a list.

    The Coasters
    The Dark Knight coaster
This brand new ride was VERY surprisingly not very enjoyable to me. I had assumed, what with all the hype, and the extremely long wait, and the (very cool) theatrics before the ride, that it might actually be a really thrilling ride! I was wrong... I'll type a long description/review of this ride, since many are unfamiliar with it, and its features are not incredibly well-known: The ride starts out with you going in a room watching an HD TV showing a press conference With Harvey Dent, talking about how he plans to rid Gotham of organized crime. After a reporter asks about the new calling card showing up, a Joker card, at the scene of elaborate crimes, the video fades, and you hear maniacal (obviously the Joker's) laughter. The video starts getting warped and mixed up, saying things like "The people are... hooligans... The people are... wrong..." and more laughter. It all ends with clips of other tapes getting mixed with the press conference tape, producing phrases similar to "Batman... Won't you come out and play with me?", and faux light-projected graffiti showing Joker phrases all over the walls suddenly appearing. The video ends with the quote "Why so serious..." and an alarm blares, telling you to head to the "Gotham emergency transport" or something like that, I couldn't hear very well. You walk down a long tunnel, coming to the loading dock, which looks kinda like the elevated trains from the movies, except without a roof and each only housing 4 people (2 rows of 2). That's right, you get in a strange little miniature train-looking thing. Oh, and there are no head restraints whatsoever, something I wasn't expecting. After pulling the lap restraint down, you find yourself going rather slowly through the interior of the building, at first climbing up a long generic roller coaster lift, and then basically winding around past various creepyish Joker crime thingys, like burning buildings with henchmen coming out, or a sign that has a left arrow and the flashing word "LEFT" just before making a sharp right turn. There are a few small drops, but the ride is almost solely turns. The end result is a banged-up head if you can't see in the dark well enough to know what's next, and a very disappointed "I just waited in line for an hour for THIS?!?" look on your face. I don't recommend this ride to anyone except those who are obsessed with the movie (I'm going to LOVE the movie, I'm just not obsessed), can see well in the dark, and don't like very exciting thrill rides.

    Iron Wolf
This is a pretty unique coaster in that you stand up, kinda sitting on a bicycle-type seat while riding it, and it actually inverts (goes upside-down) a couple times. It's a really neat concept, but the ride is quite painful if you either don't know how to best adjust your "seat", or have ears that can feel pain. Okay, I think I literally bruised my ears on this ride. The outer ear, not the eardrum from noise. This ride bangs your head back and forth between the thick shoulder restraints so much everyone I noticed was holding their bright red ears in pain coming out. I imagine this ride would be very fun if I either had softer pads for my ears to hit while riding sharp turns, or if they had a different way entirely of having the shoulder restraints attached.

    Batman: The Ride
No, I'm not talking about The Dark Knight coaster again, I'm talking about the older ride. This ride is essentially suspended chairs hanging from a roller coaster track, but it goes upside-down a few times and has some quite fun turns. I sorta enjoyed this ride, and yet again only have a couple problems. First, after a long wait it's a quite short ride. Second, MY EARS!!! =P This ride has almost identical shoulder restraints as Iron Wolf, and actually turns, therefore my ears hurt afterward. It was a shorter ride, so it was bearable, though. I'm beginning to wonder if there are some people with different-shaped ears that don't get banged-up on this ride...

    The Whizzer
This ride has two seats per car (in a line, not perpendicular to the track), with each car capable of holding two people at once (one in another's lap, meant for parents/kids) maximum. I went single in one of those long seats, so the ride felt loose, but I was secure. It starts out going up a spiral instead of a regular lift, but the ride is essentially the same otherwise. No upside-down, but lots of cool banked turns and fast drops. It's the kind of ride I'd try to get my youngest brother (who isn't used to thrill rides yet) to go on, but not the kind I'd ride over and over in a day. The fast banked turns between the trees were quite awesome, though. It looked as if you could reach them as you were going past. It was a decent length of a ride for the wait time.

    The American Eagle
I actually didn't go on this ride, because it was my turn to hold everyone's things while they went on it (It was either that or pay $1 for a one-use locker... ><). From their descriptions after the ride, it was a pretty intense ride, but it was so rickety that your fear of flying off the track is greater than your fear of the upcoming drops. I'm almost glad I didn't go on this ride, and the rest of the youth group actually didn't want to go on it again afterwards. I think if you can overcome the fear of falling off the bumpy track, this ride would be pretty fun.

    The Viper
This all-wooden track was actually not rickety-feeling at all to me. It seems very well-built, with the track interweaving with itself so many times that seeing the track from the outside makes you think the ride is shorter than it really is. It goes up and down over and over when it's not making a banked turn through a narrow opening, and the feeling is quite cool. Everyone in the youth group agreed after the ride that this ride was one of their favorites, with the only con was that it was a little bumpy.

    Vertical Velocity
Ooh, boy. Now we're getting into the FUN rides. =D
Vertical velocity is basically a coaster that you're in a hanging seat on, that accelerates rapidly forward and sharply goes up a slight turned track, drops back down the way it came going past the loading platform to another lift that the coaster climbs backwards, with everyone facing down. This repeats 3 times, and eventually brakes to a stop. I found my favorite part facing down on people's heads from reeeeeally high. I was in the very back, you see, and that means I was in the highest car when it went backwards. The turned track when you go forwards is not intense at all, really. I find the most intense part going forwards and down from the backwards position past the loading platform. This is the kind of ride everyone's smiling after, and showing two thumbs up to each other. It's DEFINITELY one I'll go on multiple times next time I go to Six Flags.

    The Raging Bull
The Raging Bull is one of your generic coasters, that doesn't go upside down but has some really neat curves at the high points, and near-sideways banked turns. It was a really nice ride, very smooth and not too intense, and the huge drop at the beginning is very awesome. Oh, also, it's a nice long ride that has a relatively short line (at least while I was there)! It is either second, or tied for first in my favorite coasters at Six Flags list. =P I liked that ride so much, I went on it a total of three times while I was there!

Ok, now THIS coaster is really neat! You get in a seat and strap yourself in. When it is about to "take off", the floor goes down and the seats all turn so you're in a "flying" position, facing the ground. After going up a long lift, you go down very fast around turns and swoops, and even doing a really intense vertical loop once! It is really an awesome experience on this ride, but it ends all too short (a little over a minute, I believe). I went on it twice, and I would have gone more if not for the really long lines. I HIGHLY recommend this ride, as it really almost feels like flying.

Well, that's all I have to say about the coasters I went on or my group went on! I definitely want to go back to Six Flags before the end of this year, and I have no idea why I hadn't gone since I was six years old. This park is awesome! (Though not as cool in some ways as Disney World. =P)

This is my testing having a Blog for the next week. If I like it enough, I may buy Premier! I don't have much time to post right now, and I may or may not post multiple entries per day.

Hmm, I guess this lair isn't so secret anymore. Oh, well! Anyhoo, my hobby is to tame various kinds of Rahi, hence my name changes on BZP. I've of course got a "lair" for me and my pets, and I've decided to open it up to BZP members for the next week!

Well, today I'm actually headed off to Six Flags with my church youth group for the whole day. It'll be the first time I've gone there since I was, like, six years old, but I think I'll enjoy my time there very much. I might take a bunch of pictures, and if so, I'll try to get them up on Maj Majhost.com either tonight if I can get on, or tomorrow. As for right now, though, I'd probably better go and get ready, they're due to show up at my house to pick me up in a little less than an hour and I'm not ready! =O

As some of you may be aware, I had 4 consecutive weekend vacations this summer, due to BrickFair VA and Bronycon being a weekend apart, and my family planning two camping trips for before and after my convention trips. I'm on my way home from the final camping trip now, so I figure this gives me a good chance to recap.

Four vacations in a row sounds really nice and relaxing on paper, but to be perfectly honest, I'd say they make things more stressful than if they were spaced out. Imagine the stress of planning and packing for a trip, times four. And the whiplash of going back to work for several days between the vacations (and having to make up for the missed work each time) just served to make things even more hectic. Even still, the trips were fun.

    Vacation 1: Camping with family (July 24 - 26)
My family typically has made plans to go camping once or twice a year for the last 10 years we've had our pop-out camper. Nowhere too remote, the farthest we've camped is in the Smoky Mountains (that was a really fun trip), but usually we just go somewhere more nearby, like Wisconsin. Plenty of campground areas there. Anyways, camping trip went fine, weather was excellent, swam in the lake and did typical camp things, nothing really stands out as worth mentioning. Oh yeah, and I got an awful sunburn while out on the lake. Like really awful. Even though I used sunscreen. And re-applied it hourly. Why.

    Vacation 2: BrickFair VA (July 29 - August 3)
So I'm not gonna lie, this year's BrickFair was not quite as great as past years, for various reasons others have already touched on in their recap entries. Still great overall, just not... as great. Personally-speaking, though, the first few days were somewhat ruined for me by a really bad mood and a lot on my mind stemming from stress from home (so for those of you who may have noticed I wasn't quite myself for a lot of the con, that's why). Thankfully though, the good outweighed the bad, and I still had a whole lot of fun. It's always great hanging out at the BZP table each year, whether I'm participating in shenanigans with Team Farm Animals, hanging with the BZP staff, getting to chat with old friends, or meeting new people. BrickFair is easily the highlight of my year every year, and I'm really glad to call all of you my friends. All in all, I didn't get to do as much as I'd have liked to do this year (those 6 days went by way too fast), but you can be sure I'll be back next year.

    Vacation 3: BronyCon 2015 (August 7-9)
Going into this convention, I had no idea what to expect. The largest event I've really been to is BrickFair, and that's a completely different sort of con that has a much smaller number of attendees outside of public hours. As soon as I stepped off the light rail from the airport, seeing dozens and dozens of fans and cosplayers walking the streets of Baltimore was really surreal and made me start to realize the scope of this event. The convention center itself was absolutely massive too, with the vendor hall alone being roughly the same size as BrickFair's expo hall. I eventually met up with Aanchir and Lyichir to hang out and get my stuff into the room, worked out a schedule for the panels I wanted to see, and just enjoyed the con. Overall, the atmosphere was just so incredibly positive and friendly, and the panels and music performances at Bronypalooza I got to see were phenomenal. I'm told the convention ran without a hitch, and hit a new record with over 10,000 attendees this year! If at all possible, I'm planning to go back next year (since it doesn't conflict with BrickFair again!).

Vacation 4: Camping with family (August 14-16)
For whatever reason, my family picked the exact same campground as the last trip. I mean, it's a decent one, so it's not all bad. Anyways, not a whole lot to say here that hasn't already been said above since it's largely the same experience. I did manage to avoid a sunburn this time, so that's a plus.

So that's how I spent my vacation days this year. It's been quite a ride, but I don't think I'm gonna plan consecutive vacations again if I can help it. It's just too much! D:

Jeez, it's been ages since I last blogged.

So although it's not my 4th brony anniversary until the end of the month, I've already got my new song cover ready ahead of time, so why don't I just go ahead and post it early:

I know, I know, I said before that my next cover would be The Flim Flam Miracle Curative Tonic. I still fully intend to record that song to bookend my first cover, but this amazing song from the season 4 finale really just resonated with me and I had to record it first. Also, it's finally an excuse to record a song starring best pony. (I'll leave the question of "which one?" up to your personal interpretation)

    What do you think?
