"Thank you for your words, but I have come to terms with my losses. After all, that tragedy led to my empowerment as a toa and hero... Maybe the priest was right when he said that heroes only exist in opposition to tragedy and evil."

The mahi gradually slows, outside the windows, Po-Koro can be seen. A sprawling city of stone buildings, quarries in the distance and large buildings for work on the outskirts. Distant low rumbling of machinary can be felt more than heard.

"Well, it seems we're close to arriving..."

  2. Timeskip? Timeskip! I can finally introduce my characters in Ko-Wahi! Well, after, I do all my hefty posting in Ga-Wahi.

Oh, by the way, there is going to be some big(-ish) stuff going down in Ga-Koro soon involving the Toa Kalta.

    The suspense is killing me.

The titan speaks somberly. It is the first display of emotion I have seen him from, however small it is.

"I did tell you more than you knew, whether or not it was intentional is up for the reader to decide. As for your (kind?) words, I thank you."

I offer him a hand, earlier it had been offered as a sign of truce, what I believed was expected of me. Now I offer willingly, a sign of trust. If not of him in my companions, then of trust between him and I.

  4. IC: Haruru

Haruru sat in his seat with his eyes closed tightly and his chin resting on one of his fists. He was engrossed by the sounds of mechanical parts moving beneath the railroad car which he and his present company were currently traveling in. While at first he was worried that the noise would annoy him, he slowly found the symphony of sounds produced by slight bumps and rhythmic wheel turns to be surprisingly soothing.  As he slowly started to drift towards falling asleep, he was shaken awake by the voice of Onamazu speaking to him.

"I...uh...er..." He blurted out before composing himself and quietly clearing his throat. "Ah, well, I've been wandering around the shores of the island by myself for quite a few years now.  It can be a bit lonely at times, but at least it's generally peaceful. I stopped by Ga-Koro since I was nearby and wanted to get a short break from the solitude. Its, uh, actually the first time in quite a while that I've traveled with a group of Toa..."

For a moment after trailing off, Haruru gazed towards nothing in particular. A few seconds slowly ticked by before he managed to shake off whatever memory had interrupted his previous train of thought.

"So...if it's not too much for me to ask...what about you?" Haruru said to Onamazu in an attempt to change the subject. "What was your past like and what business happened to bring you to the village of water?"

    IC Onamazu

"I am an orphan. The suburb of Onu-Koro I was born in burnt down when I was young. My family, friends and dozens of others died. A ta-turaga named Baldr ran through the inferno, looking for survivors. I was the only one. He saved me and raised me, eventually gifting me his toa stone. He was a real hero, one that did not think of his own safety, void of selfish intentions. After the fire, his health declined. Ten years after, he died."

    She shifts in her seat.

"He taught me how to use my powers and tried to shelter me. After he died I knew I had to continue his legacy. I moved to Ga-Koro for a change of scenary. Several weeks of observation unveiled nothing, until I met with all you."

I am having a rare moment of clarity right now.

"Fighting for Makuta and acting as a shady mercenary has gotten me into this, drunk and hiding in barrels when the Ussalry comes 'round. So I suppose working on the side of the law with lady Lash is probably my best option."

"I can't let myself sober up like this anymore..."

I continue walking, soon we are pretty much there.

As we go, I fill the guardsmen toa in on the details of Ko-Koro, it's sieging by Makuta's Legacy and the Brotherhood of Ak'rei'an, the later a name I am not familiar with. My retreat to the hospital to warn the occupants, and our journey to the cable car to cross.

"All in all, it was quite traumatizing."

  7. OOC: the karz these massive amounts of po-wahi posts coming from...

    IC Onamazu

Merchant caravans took them as far as Forsi, the merchants they had been traveling with abandoning them during a routine "food stop."

She expected it was because they feared her, they have been carrying some sort of contraband she knew. She could smell their anxiety and fear at having five heroes of justice traveling with them. It was no matter though, the Iron Mahi was being readied to depart, it traveled directly to Po-Koro from Forsi. Cutting through the desert at high speed, a marvel of Onu-Koran engineering.

Her party's cabin was quiet compared to the desert winds or the coastal merchant towns, one a constant drone, the other a cacophony of people, rahi and machinary. She had not been to Po-Wahi, the neighbor to her home of Onu-Wahi in many years, the advancing technology surprised her. Truthfully, it even worried her. She did not trust a machine with a person's job.

The Onu-Toa turns to her companions, the quiet and older de-toa is a calming presence. The other three are less readable. Panyk and Onic still give her the impressions of tricksters, the noble golden toa is the hardest to read.

"Haruru, tell me of your past. What led you to Ga-Koro?"

  8. IC Skoll

"What is her aim?" Lash's tale seemed hastily spun. The voices of the Ussalry incredulous in response.

He was bored in his barrel, so he pushed the lid off and stood, brushing himself off. He walked into the midst of the group, adopting a robotic stance and deadset eyes, staring forward and into the distance. (a dingy wall in this case...)

"HER TALE IS TRUE, MATORAN OF THE USSALRY. MISTRESS LASH POSSESSES THE POWER TO BIND THE FORMER SERVANTS OF THE DARK LORD TO HER MERCYFUL POWER."

He spoke in a robotic tone, acting the part of another bound to her power.

    "I have the best plans."

  9. IC Brontes

The Vo-Toa garnered many odd looks, leading a small group of refugees as he did. "Why the karz are they staring instead of helping?" The Koro had a rather subdued, (perhaps paranoid?) feel to it. It reminded him of the atmosphere he had been in following terrorist attacks in his home. A looming spectre that snuffed idle conversations and friendliness, leaving a wary and alert population in it's wake.

He saw a crimson toa, bearing a Kualsi and scarred, dented armor. The veteran of many fights. He looked respectable enough so Bronte approached.

"Hey!" He ran to him, making sure to get his attention. "I come from Ko-Koro, it has fallen to Makuta's Legacy. I have several dozen refugees with me and need to find the Guard headquarters, a hospital, or something like that."

OOC: das RIL hes talking with

  10. I was on here previously, but never really got into much. I have decided to rejoin. Does anyone have any advice?

make a character and shoehorn yourself into something going on in one of the threads.

(or ask nicely for interaction with people, probably better)
