  1. Um....really? How much worse?
  2. So Pepsi is pairing with Harmonix to create one of the best promotions EVER. You buy a bottle of Pepsi, and get a code that can be redeemed for a chance at free stuff. I've currently cashed in over 20 caps for free music. And I have another 18 bottles in the cupboard waiting to be chilled off. Thankfully it's not costing me any more than my regular pop consumption, and I'm trying to mix up Diet and regular to swap my mix of aspartame and sugar. I have more songs than I know what to do with really.
  3. My grandfather passed away today. His health had been failing the past few weeks, and thankfully I was able to visit with him the last few days to get my chance to say goodbye. It was hard leaving his bedside yesterday, knowing it would be the last time I saw him. But my aunts, uncles, and nephews were all able to make it down yesterday to spend some time with him and with each other. When my mom called this morning, I knew exactly what it was...and in a way I was preparred to hear the news. I took my time getting up, and by the afternoon had made it over to my grandmother's. There, several of us spent the day sharing stories, joking around, and ended the evening with some dinner from Green Mill and some desert (pie cake!). It was an odd day. Nobody was visibly upset, but obviously it was on everybody's mind. My grandmother gave me some of his clothes to take home, which she thought I could put to use. I felt odd taking them, but I could tell it was helping her cope, so I accepted them. I dunno how long it will be before I'm able to wear them...if ever. Why am I writing this? I guess it just feels good to get it out there. But also, to reaffirm something you hear frequently. Never leave angry, and always be sure to tell the ones you care about that you love them.
  4. Spotted canister Mata-Nui sets at TRU. Didn't realize that they were that readily available...figured they were still trickling out. Are these the "second wave" of Toa sets this year?
  5. I haven't bought any new Bionicle since I bought the Mistika...and I wasn't too pleased with those sets. As such I've been out of the loop with the 09 sets. But I see there's a Mata-Nui out (or coming soon). I think I want it, but can't decide if I should buy the Toa-sized Mata-Nui or wait until that bigger set comes out. What do you guys think? Are the new Toa worth the increased price? I liked the pics of the new Mata-Nui, and it would be fun to finally have a set of him even if it's not the same epic figure we all imagined years ago. Glad he finally has a set form though. It's been a LONG time coming!
  6. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is only a few weeks away now. And I've gotten myself ready by watching the first movie, as well as buying the first two Constructicons (Rampage and Demolisher), and have started saving up for the next two (Long Haul and Mixmaster). I only hope the other three get Deluxe or bigger releases...and I also want this. This movie needs to be awesome.

    Kaboom!

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «He is the man seen speaking with Jacob on the beach at the beginning of the episode. Aka the true form of the Smoke Monster.

    Kaboom!

My head is still spinning from the LOST season 5 finale. So many storylines starting to come together, and a much clearer picture of what's going to happen in the final season is in place. 2010 will not come fast enough. I'm going to have to rewatch this to see if I can piece together some more clues. But I have to admit the writers did an amazing job of wrapping threads together.
  9. It's Smackdown/ECW branded. So pending storyline, it'll be guys like Edge, Punk, Jericho, and Morrison.
  10. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but after an early 6 year hiatus I've started watching pro-wrestling again. Started sometime last year (I think just after Wrestlemania)...and since then I've watched my first PPV (Wrestlemania 25) at a buddy's place. Well, the two of us caught a promo the other day for a house show coming to a stadium nearby. On an impulse, the two of us grabbed tickets. So both of us are hitting our first wrestling event. It's not a taping for their weekly shows, nor is it a pay-per-view. I've been told by those who've been to them that they're pretty entertaining and have less talking and more matches. So it should be a lot of fun. I'd mention a few of the guys who are scheduled to be there but I dunno who of you would recognize them. Hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures...though it's still a way away.
  11. Science: "Why the heck not, right?"
  12. So I was thinking...this year it's Swine Flu. Not to long ago it was Avian Flu. What happens if these two deadly diseases should combine forces? What are you waiting for? RUN!

    Lego Kefka

You forgot to note that Kefka's also one of the few villians who actually SUCCEEDS in his plans for world domination. That was one of the coolest moments of FFVI.
  14. I'm quite shocked by the initial reactions I'm seeing from both Rock Band fans and LEGO fans following confirmation that LEGO Rock Band is coming this year. Both franchises are well known as being sources of family-friendly entertainment. I've played the two Star Wars titles and had a blast...and anybody who regulars The Haven knows a huge fan of the plastic instrument genre. Harmonix, the people behind the RB franchise, have a reputation of putting out quality software...with RB1 and RB2 being incredibly fun. Given initial reports of how LEGO will be integrated, I don't think people have need to be concerned. Perhaps it's just that I haven't been a part of the LEGO universe much recently, as it looks like part of the reason is that people aren't fans of Travelers Tales anymore. Whatever the case, I humbly suggest that RB fans and LEGO game fans both take a step back and wait for more info before kicking into panic mode. I have enough confidence in both franchises that my faith holds that LEGO Rock Band will be a quality game.
  15. And now that it's happened, you are cursed to forever be remembered as "that guy who talked way too much" ;)

  16. Are you getting as annoyed with people who think we're racing as I am?

  17. So nobody read my blog entry?

  18. It was just confirmed today that Journey's classic "Don't Stop Believin'" will be released for Rock Band on both the 360 and PS3 next week. While I only own the Xbox version, I want to take this opportunity to request that everybody on here who plays this game purchase this track to ensure that the online community becomes all the more epic. And as a vocalist, I want to make extra certain that fellow RB vocalists get this song. Because you are not truly master of the karaoke based music game until you've belted this puppy out at least once. And if you don't think you've ever heard this song, I guarantee that you have. Numerous times. Oh, and there's also some Spongebob songs coming. I will probably check those out online before I actually drop points on them. BUY THE JOURNEY SONG!
  19. So I've been getting a lot of comments on my profile and through PM regarding Kex and his post count. Yes, I know he's close to passing me. No, I'm not going to suddenly start posting a lot to "keep ahead". I sincerely hope that my time on BZP has been memorable for more reasons than just my high post count. And I hope that when Kex eventually passes me, that people won't forget his contributions as well.

    Dremel Kit

I can picture Omi parading around his place putting holes in things just because he can. And quite honestly, it sounds FUN!
  21. I actually was real big into Road Rules for some reason more than the Real World. But ever since the second season of Survivor I've lost interest in these types of reality shows.
  22. I would've written the review last night, but the movie was about 2 hours long, plus an hour or so hanging out with my friends afterward meant I didn't get back home till about 4. In other words, I was VERY tired Friday. But now that I'm more awake, here's my spoiler-free review. And since this film is Rated R, I'll be careful about what I discuss. Pros: Soundtrack - Watchmen has what has to be one of the best opening sequences I've seen in a long time. Excellent use of music, imagery, and light humor helps the audience become quickly accustomed to the universe in which the movie exists. And from there, the film puts together a varied soundtrack that uses easily recognizable tracks to somewhat parody the atmosphere of the scene in which they play. You'll come out of this movie wanting to listen to the full CD.Characters - With the exception of Dr. Manhatten, there isn't a single superpowered character in this movie. And that's what makes it so entertaining. You get to know the characters primarily as their real-world personas, with their superhero lives almost being the "other" story that we occasionally look in on. Even when fighting crime, characters refer to each other by their first names (except for Rorshach...who nobody knows). And while some of the backstory is a little light in places, you still get a feel for the type of person each one is.Surprises - There are some fun twists in this one. One of which actually makes you go "Oh...wow!" A few potential surprises seem telegraphed, but otherwise the film does a good job of keeping you guessing as to what's going on, and trying to solve the mystery along with the heroes.Cons:Uh... - This is an R-Rated movie. So keep that in mind when going with your group. Definately not a superhero movie to take the kiddies too. Aside from the elements that make it R-Rated, most children would likely not understand what's going on anyway.Pacing - The early parts of the movie focus on developing the backstory for the universe and it's characters. And at times this can lead to the viewers losing track of the main story (the murder mystery). But if you can make it through this portion of the film, you'll be rewarded when the second half kicks into gear.History - This film takes place in the 60s and 80s, creating an alternate history for the US (And the rest of the world). The opening sequence is entertaining in its own right, but becomes moreso once you begin to understand the history behind each scene. However, this leads to a number of pop culture references that can cause the humor to get lost on some viewers. There were a few jokes where I'd sit quietly and watch people around me laugh with no idea why. Also, the Nixon impersonation in this film is terrible...to the point where I was beginning to wonder if it wasn't intentional. My overall verdict, however, is to go see it. If you're a fan of the superhero/comic book film genre, you owe it to yourself to see this. It's not as action packed as you would expect, but the story is pretty deep. And as far as the revised ending is concerned, I never read the novel. But with that in mind, the new ending still made perfect sense to me. Take that with a grain of salt though...as I really didn't care that Optimus had flames either.
  23. I didn't realize this was ever a race...

  24. Tomorrow night's going to be a BLAST. I've reserved my ticket to see the midnight showing of Watchmen at one of those new-fangled IMAX theaters. Have never actually seen a movie at one before, so I'm excited. To make it even more fun, I'm meeting up with a few people from college that I haven't seen in at least a year. If I'm not completely exhausted come Friday, I'll be sure to post a full review!

    Lame...

Check the image posted one up from this one. Movie Devastator is six components. Three for the upperbody, three for the lowerbody, and then the head. Each one is pointed out in the above image. To paraphrase Ian Malcom: "You were so obsessed with trying to prove you could...you never stopped to ask if you should."
