  1. I just have to say...BEST. FRIENDSHIP LETTER. EVER.Oh, and Doctor Whooves wears a tie now. Ties are cool.
  2. Hooray! Izzy's comics are finally on BZP! In a weird...indirect sort of way... :unsure:You should put them in the first post under a different label. You two could team up in this topic.
  3. You should really clean that spilled soda. Liquid and electronic devices rarely go well together.
  4. I´m gonna go with current style as well.Anyway, hooray for new comic! And let´s not forget the other Pinkie Pie highlight of season 2: her bursting into flame and speaking in demon voice at the prospect of someone breaking a Pinkie promise.
  5. OH MY GOD BEST EPISODE EVER.The story was great, the moral was good, and the comedy was AWESOME (Lucy, Pinkie talking, Pinkie promise, etc). It was an episode so amazing it moved Big Mac and Rainbow Dash to tears.Oh yeah, and DERPY!!!! Seriously, how awesome is it that a background character that the fandom adopts becomes a full-on character?!
  6. I'm listening through the reviews right now, I like these! This would make a worthy addition to the whole tradition (I guess it counts as a tradition if it happens more than once...). But I would agree with Tapika and John Marrow that the default criticism of "It's not Christmas" gets a little old. Now, you can make a good argument that a comic isn't sufficiently different enough from a regular comic to really be considered a "holiday" comic, which I think would be a legitimate criticism, but you guys didn't really make that very clear, so...Still, it made for an interesting listen. Thanks for putting it together!
  7. Hipster ponies... Oh good grief, there's nothing we won't do to these poor things, is there?Love the comics! I've been watching this series from a-far for a while now and I figured it was about time for me to post.
  8. I know I did. He seemed like a pretty swell guy. That episode just kept getting better and better. The comedy was good and all the stuff with the zap apples was fun to watch, but once it got into Granny's story it just got awesome. The historical stuff was nice and those Timberwolves were freaking AWESOME. They almost looked like they were 3-D animations - it's amazing they could do that with flash.
  9. Oh man, I've been away for way too long - there's so many awesome new comics! The child hunter story is really compelling; the scenario is great, the fight scenes are cool, and the dialogue is beyond awesome. That Deadly Cough series was great too - a lot of great comedy and an awesome conclusion, with Gav decking Mole like that.
  10. Well, it's still Boxing Day here in England, which is basically an extension of Christmas. So it's practically still the holiday. :POh Kahi, stop being so hard on yourself. This calendar was a huge success! The calendar looked much nicer this year, the comics were fantastic, and you still got most of the AIII forum to pitch in. Let's see...27 comics have been released so far, and you mentioned there's still four left, so including you as the host, that's 32 comic makers who participated in this - which ties with last year! The whole idea of this is to bring the comic makers of the forum together for the holidays, and on that measure alone I'd say that this was a pretty huge success. :DAnywa, can't wait to see the last few comics! A Merry (post) Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
  11. Oh man, got a lot of comics to catch up on!#16 - WVUFan: Leave it to Rainbow Dash to turn a Matoran from bad to good. Then kill them from the adorableness. #17 - Justax-Kal: An excellent capture of all the standard tropes of a Christmas comic. Also, I really like the text.#18 - Emkay: DANCING PINKIE!!! Also, I think it speaks to your talent that so many people thought that was a real song you were parodying. #19 - Oneker: Please, it's not necessary to repeat the previous days for each one, even if that is how the song goes. Other than that though, loved it. #20 - Darcsyde: There is so much epicness in that comic. You've got the Grinch, my favorite Disney song, and some awesome, awesome pictures. #21 - Deceimeter: Okay. That shifting panels gag was just brilliant. I tip my hat to you.#21 - Zero: Nice job getting everyone in!#22 - Biocryptid: There was some awesome comedy in that one - timing-wise, it's probably my favorite, just for the occasional bout of randomness and funny imagery.#23 - Tavakai: Holy Jiminy Christmas Tav, that was one long, long, long comic. But I guess it would be, as you managed to rope an earlier Christmas comic and a Halloween comic into it. That is an impressive feat. #23 - Gerlicky: For pure comedy, that comic had to be my favorite so far! There was an awful lot of glass breaking, wasn't there? Plus, Makito's right Gerlicky. You will shoot your eye out.I'm in London at the moment, and we're just a couple hours away from Christmas now. Here's to a merry Christmas, and looking forward to seeing who wraps this thing up!
  12. Woo! That's alotta new comics! On with it, then...- #8, Dr. Giggles - I wish I had instantaneous gift-wrapping abilities...then again, I guess it's just a matter of switching to the next panel. - #9, Pirok - So if a tree plots world domination in the woods and there's no one around to hear its plan, does it still make an evil laugh?- #10, LNU - Woo, ponies! That comic just became 20% cool- *is shot*- #11, MOC - That layout sure was interesting...it leaves an awful lot of blank space but it's really easy to read and it's kinda pleasant on the eyes. I like it.- #12, Reznas - Oh B6, you so wacky.- #13, Vataki - So what is it that Mrs. Claus doesn't want us to know? - #14, Absorba - That has to be my favorite comic on here so far (no offense against the others, of course - it's just my favorite). The timing and humor are just fantastic!- #15, Eljay - I absolutely despise that song with a passion...but you make it work. Maybe some extra grimness is what the song needs...if you're gonna broach the subject of vehicular homicide, you might as well go all the way and bring out the guns.
  13. Well, I recently finished a parody of A Christmas Carol called A Princess Carol, which was posted on...an extremely popular MLP fan site which I can not name here but which you all have most likely visited.
  14. Ooh, I missed that particular visual reference to King Kong. Very clever...of course, the hand reaching through the window was definitely a reference to KK, as well as the Wonderbolts swiping at him, among other thing. Although I'm still tripping out over Spike's Godzilla-esque roar. :lol:It really seems like this episode had something for every brony. Some really kick-flank action scenes, a funny Derpy cameo (I caught it on my second viewing, and I was just looking at Lyra and Bon Bon when Derpy popped up ), funny Pinkie quotes and probably the closest thing to shipping there will ever be in the actual show. I mean, wow. The stuff between Rarity and Spike is going to fuel a lot of shipping fiction and art in the coming weeks, I'm sure of it.I too was surprised with the whole RD/Fluttershy thing there, with their little glance at each other (seriously, I was taken aback enough that I paused the clip and watched it again to make sure I didn't imagine it). Then again, it's probably just because we're looking at this through the eyes of a bunch of adults who have been exposed to an unholy amount of ApplePie, Twixie, FlutterDash and AppleDash in the last several months. I think it was meant more as a sight gag then a suggestion of something more serious between them. But that's not going to stop the shippers, no siree.
  15. I'll have to wait for the video stream to watch it again and find Derpy, but here's some initial thoughts...
  16. To be fair, when it comes to comics there is a certain ratio of text to image that remains in most reader's comfort zone, and you do toe the line of upsetting that balance in this comic. Don't get me wrong, I still loved it, but even I looked at that and thought, "Man, that's a lot of text."
  17. Dah! Lotta comics to catch up with! And a whole bunch of people I'm not/no longer familiar with...#2, 009 - Holy cow, someone out there is still doing Razor! Only you somehow make it look new and fresh. Kudos to you! #3, Mistika - "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" always makes for the best song parodies. #4, Chath - Very creative, making it so that it can be read in any order. I always like it when people play around with those kinds of basic things we often forget aren't really necessary.#5, King Joe - I know my days are blury with glee. I think all that sugar is getting to me... #6, Shadonix - I'm actually going to be in London for Christmas (seriously, for real). We'll have to meet up. #7, Tapika - And once again Tapika, you blow my mind. Seriously, your stuff is so surreal and wickedly cool.
  18. Doing homework...with ponies!Procrastinating on said homework...with ponies!Posting on BZPower...with ponies!
  19. Me and my siblings were big fans of Doctor Who before we discovered MLP, so much so that when I told my sister about Doctor Whooves and showed her some of the artwork she literally squealed with delight.
  20. Nah, he was totally Cary Elwes. Someone compared him to The Most Interesting Man in the World, which is my favorite comparison so far. ...He is constantly surrounded by groupies. In the fashion industry his word is law.Canterlot royalty bow to him."I say, I don't always drink apple cider. But when I do, I drink Dos Equine. Stay thirsty, my good chaps!
  21. That always throws me, considering that we specifically saw them being publicly hailed as heroes in Canterlot after they defeated Discord. It's like the regular episodes take place in a different continuity than the pilot ones. The only mention of the Elements of Harmony in a regular episode is when Luna brought it up in the Nightmare Night episode.Writing-wise I understand the reason - it's to make the mane six more relatable as characters; plus you wouldn't want to make it difficult for a new fan watching their first episode to understand the situation (and we are talking about a show intended for little children here, so that's doubly important). So ultimately I just have to accept that as the reason and move on (like the MST3K theme song says, "Just repeat to yourself it's just a show, I should really just relax"). But it still throws me plot-wise.
  22. If there's one lesson I'm taking from this episode, it's that it's not what you know, but who you know. And if you're in league with someone really well off, there's nothing you can't get away with. :POkay, I'm just kidding. (...mostly.)The luggage pony reminds me of the awkward teenager with the freckles from The Simpsons who always made background appearances (did he have a name?)
  23. Oh my gosh, I just read comic 45 and I freaking loved it. You've taken the whole "comics as business" concept and perfected it, Kahi. The punchline was great too, but I was just enjoying reading that conversation they were having. It's so realistic, I'd swear it was based on real-life events.
